We are still in lock down here in Sydney with cases escalating. The farm life is great with no face masks required. The haflinger was worked hard over the last 2 weeks and has developed a oil leak that I have to fix soon! Cheers Mate Aussie Dave
Bloody great machines, I own a 1963 right hand drive model in the UK which Is a good runner but needs a bit TLC. To make it a looker again. Awesome little beasts.
Hi mate, I've only just heard of these and have been looking at buying a land rover, are they anymore reliable? I live inner city and a Haflinger would be much easier to drive around town as it's smaller. From your opinion, how would they go as a daily driver and are parts ridiculously expensive? I've found a facebook group in Australia that tells people where they can find parts.
Hi Pat, Not much good as a daily driver with a realistic top speed of about 65km. Parts are almost non existent in Australia with only 3 or 4 good parts suppliers overseas now. Parts are dear when you factor in postage costs and exchange rates and I have been to Vienna Austria twice (Autoquariet)and bought up big on parts. Haflinger tecknik in Scotland is also great to deal with. Most Haflinger owners become very knowledgeable mechanically as most workshops have never put a spanner on one. Overall the haflinger is reliable as long as you dont drive it fast! Remember it is most likely more than 50 years old! Cheers Aussie dave
Thank you. That's a pretty good tour of a great little Ute. I hope you and your's all came through 'The China Syndrome' safe.

They sure are! Not many vehicles can match it over rough ground and its nearly 60 years old! Cheers Aussie Dave
Great little machines thanks for the tour. Interesting how those Austrians really went for gold with the air cleaners
Awesome machine, I’d love to have one!
Thanks Mate! They are a real handy vehicle to have on the farm and can take a lot of punishment.
