I'm doing an investigation on the building but I'm not foolish to go inside I am doing my homework on the place and if it is evil like Grave Encounters then it should be demolished and bombed. This is a place of tormented souls and a place like this should not exist if they were mentally ill you might as well lock them in a prison cell. I'm glad this place is shut down and no one else has to suffer the same pain as the patience. If you do some back research on mental asylums they're known to be pure fucking evil rather than actually help people.
Grave Encounters is not the only movie/film to use this location...there are sooo many HUGE movies and TV shows that have used the inside, west lawn, etc in their productions. X-files and Smallville being a couple
It was an asylum plain nd simple, my mother was a patient there nd was murdered there by a fellow patient nd I was conceived nd born addicted to whatever they kept giving her! I was born in 1971
something about the way he said “mental health should be a key factor” and then they filmed Grave Encounters 2 on location in this hospital is absolutely sending me
I will be SO mad if they build condo's over this. If anything, turn it into a museum! I live so close, yet I've never been inside. I feel I should go soon
Debatable. I'm a local, and yes, I agree, a lot of these kinds of people should've gone somewhere but this place did all sorts of stuff. It was extremely overcrowded too.
Now that Riverview is closed why don't we get everyone together our mayor's our councilman. We could open that up for the homeless or anyone that's in need of a place to live it's ideal you leave it as is put the necessities in that people need. I think it would be a great opportunity to get some of the homeless in that it can house quite a few people. Yes we might have to get people to work there and pay them but it's worth. Anyways I was just wondering if anybody had any thoughts on that does anyone know who we could contact about that before it gets torn down a great opportunity for Vancouver!!!
I know it's been awhile since you commented but they haven't gotten rid of the main buildings but at the moment are working on demolishing one and it has been in loads of movies
I know this is an old comment but I actually have some recent footage of the buildings now if you want to check em out go to my channel. It was quite an interesting area to see.
Turn it into housing If you're not mentally ill when you get there, you will be by the time you leave Imagine spending a single night there...eek I'd be laying there eyes wide open clutching my blankets staring at the ceiling... soon as the sun peeks over the horizon I'd leap out of bed, grab my things n be on my way. One night spent in the asylum...done
😢 these men and woman were abused. I work with men who grew up in this place and daily i deal with the aftermath. I go to work everyday to correct the damage and create the most loving affection stable home for them.
This is interesting. I often read about Riverview like it was a good thing and closing it led to the current homelessness problem in Vancouver. Interesting to hear another perspective. Hope that the former patients are able to find some peace.
@ Patricia Funk WoW That's something you Don't Hear every Day. So u was Born There too?.. I Saw Both movie's and i wanted to know if this is based on real event's, because i don't think the grave encounter's movie is real.

I do not believe in ghosts or spirits until I see one for myself under the right circumstances. After five decades of being alive, the wait goes on. I have however had a few unexplainable sights with pictures I have taken but still unconvinced.
Grave encounters 1 & 2 brought me here
Stills brings patients here in 2020....
Mee too
I drive past this and I always gets chills down my spine
Go on google maps and type down grave encounters hospital location

bro, ffs grave encounters is a movie not a real event, go read a book
Grave Encounters is not the only movie/film to use this location...there are sooo many HUGE movies and TV shows that have used the inside, west lawn, etc in their productions. X-files and Smallville being a couple
Grave Encounters is real and the spirits are there
“May be turned into housing”
*opens front door* steps out into a frozen tundra and door crumbles behind me.
Is this a reference to something?
@@Regrelin I have no idea this was five years ago.
Grave encounters!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OH MY GOD, THE MOVIE WAS REAL.... AWDJASGHIDASJKDASGUd
Still is...
Just watched Grave Encounters 1 and 2, kinda wanna go there now and spend the night
Noice
The only way to find out if the film was real is to look up if the characters on the film are still alive.
What is the point of these mental asylums, nobody in these places get better they always get worse. Psychiatry is a business not a science.
True that. The whole system is a racket, just like with convid
@@chappiescollectables Yes, society gets fooled and brainwashed. They dont know the truth.
It was an asylum plain nd simple, my mother was a patient there nd was murdered there by a fellow patient nd I was conceived nd born addicted to whatever they kept giving her! I was born in 1971
My total at the store just now was $19.71
Not a coincidence
We all know the REAL reason that it closed.
Haunted
did u know that thats the same institute in the film grave encounters 1 and 2?
+Hamisi Andale Yeah. Thats why we are here.
So much for that!! They’re building condos!!
Grave encounter brought me here who else came here after seen the movie
What a controversial topic, I wouldn't even begin to weigh in on this one. Wonderful to some and a real nightmare to others.
And British Columbians wonder why there are so many homeless! DUH.
Those buildings are historic and beautiful! They better not tear them down! That would be a sad day

Why???? It is place with an evil and cruel past.
@@babymammoth34History . Are you native. ? That would explain. You hate us and our history . Well we think the same😅
Grave encounters some one must explore this
yeah i belive this is the location of grave encounters, although i also belive it is sort of a true story even though they say it not
Yeah what the add... i want to go there
Should have never closed . Alot of people out there with mental health need help and there's not enough
Debatable. I'm a local, and yes, I agree, a lot of these kinds of people should've gone somewhere but this place did all sorts of stuff. It was extremely overcrowded too.
This is the Sisters Of Quite Mercy building from Riverdale
If they tried to build high density housing they would get jail time and fined ,for disrupting a soil on a historic site. Land is not for sale.
Just read a article about River View about reopening the hospital because of all the mental health cases rising
There's nothing there. Not worth it. Don't go there.
Prison break season 5 was filmed here

The thing that scares me is that i live near this house 😱
I live 5 mins away😬😬😬
@@OffCameraPodcast oh crap same here!!! 😳😳😬😬😬
i bet all these patients all got healthy psychiatric drugs
Look it up!!
Were the scenes of the film "The Eyes of Crime" with Andy García shot in this hospital ?
Who came here after watching haunting tube?!
I can think of one good use to keep this building up, movies. Think about it. It looks creepy enough. I hope they haven't tear it down.

Super finally I have the exact coordinates now I can set off. Anybody want to come with me?
Does the grave meet really in this hospital?
I can't find this on the google maps. Why?
Interesting that there was no mention this was stolen indigenous land. Since this report the local first nation took their land back.
I was actually trying to search the building where it was and stuff but doesn't say much
Just in time for the new Liberal government to take over from Harper🤔
Death awaits I caint believe the real deal is real
Is it really haunted ??!
why am i a idiot? just because i belive something. there is more out there then what people say to us
