    No concerns with the clowns jumping out of the 15 gallon? I had my clown kamikaze out of my Peninsula once (I had to buy a cover for it).

      Always a concern, but with the rock structure creating some good hiding spaces and covering the surface we are hoping it mitigates the jumping a little! Always a thought though, at home I have a lid on my system and recommend having one.

    Are you concerned of the reef mat filtering out the copepods?

    • @TopShelfAquatics
      @TopShelfAquatics  5 месяцев назад

      Not really, hasn’t been something I have been concerned about, I’ll ask Taras about that subject as well!

    When you added the corals and cleanup crew, was either tank even cyceled? They looked pure white, no green algae or croaline, nothing.

    Question, what percentage are the blues and whites set on the reefleds.

    “You are the top herbivore” might be one of the best ways of explaining that vital role we play as the hobbiest being the main source for nutrient export.

      Something I heard from Jake Adams and will carry with me forever, we need to do our own due diligence and get in our systems and assist with any of that nuisance algae removal. Breaking it down even where it’s a smaller layer allows for our clean up crews to come in and polish off the job!
      Thanks for tuning in this week!

      @TopShelfAquatics  5 месяцев назад +1

      Currently only running blues for about 10hrs a day with an hour ramp up and down, this was shot in manual mode when showcasing the tank. The return pump we ended up using was the ReefRun9000!

    Love that you’re showing these tanks through all the stages, especially the uglies. Also, seeing a tank with just a few corals and fish; that’s how most of us start. I am curious about what you had in the sump, and it looks like you were dosing, or was that the Red Sea ATO? I’m sure you’ll do an update video and go more in-depth! I have the Red Sea 350 so that’s why I ask. Last, but not least - the Red Sea Reef Mat is the best thing in my entire setup!

    • @TopShelfAquatics
      @TopShelfAquatics  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for the comment! I felt it was a good time to share with everyone that nothing good is done overnight, and these reef tanks take time! Currently no dosing going on in the tank, have the Red Sea ATO+ set up on it though. Agreed the ReefMat is on another level!

      Depends on how your parameters look, and the size of the fish selected. Everyone has their baseline, but we feel this group of fish is perfect for this system and provides a nice amount of nutrients for the corals!
