thanks for the video. i had no clue there was a box in the engine compartment. the display screen on my nav unit suddenly went very, very dim yesterday, but the radio still works. i'm hoping a fuse swap is going to fix the problem

That's all very well! We now know, if we didn't before, where the fuse panels are located and how to open them. But how do you find which fuse protects which accessory, for example the screen washers? Nothing in Owners Manual and nothing on inside of fuse panel cover.
Stupid question but I hope someone can help. I found that my old Passat b5.5 2001 1.9tdi 96kw was 4 engine control fuses. Only one is on. What about other three? I'm confused. Should those three be off and one on or not. If one should be on then why are there three more?
All models will vary depending on the level of electronics on the car. There will be some empty spaces in the larger fuse blocks, hope that answers your query.
The 12v cigarette lighter will be one fuse, the fuse you replaced just have another look to make sure it hasn't blown straight away, if it has there is probably a short somewhere, make sure nothing is trapped in the socket like a small coin or something.
Not sure, I expect there is just one fuse for all headlamp bulbs. If it's just that bulb that's failed it could be a blown bulb or it's not seated correctly.

Hi which one is the cigarette ligter please. I thought i found it as the fuse was blown. I changed it. Then the car wouldn't start. I changed the good fuse around and it started. But cigarette lighter still not working 😢
How odd, a fuse like you are talking about would not prevent the car from starting. Not sure where it is. If you’ve checked all fuses there may be one under the seat possibly

I have Passat cc and the lights are not blinking when I lock the doors with the remote key, they do blink when I unlock the doors. It’s driving me nuts. Any advice how to fix this?
Very useful channel amigo! I bought a 59 plate Passat the week before lockdown and I've not been able to use it much so I keep finding extra things on it to fiddle with. Already wondering how to alter the times on the clock (I see the link to your vid), I sussed the tyre pressure, but not sussed the bluetooth connection for my phone yet. Maybe you've got a vid for that too :-)

Interior fuse for what? Unfortunately if you switch to LED bulbs it can confuse the computer as they have low resistance. You need to swap back to normal bulbs or buy LED bulbs with Canbus technology.

I'm afraid you will have to test them individually. It is most likely to be a 7.5amp or a 10amp so go for those ones first.
My light indicator wont turn off even though none of the lights are out. I wonder if it's a fuse thing. How do I know which the light fuse is?
Doubt it's a fuse as then it would not work at all. Could be a faulty stalk or a Relay switch.

It could be a fuse yes or maybe a frayed wire somewhere underneath the seat. Check fuses first.

No idea, you'd either need a spare live empty one to use with a new fuse or link up to one that's on permanently. Good luck.

Twisted wires could be a faulty glow plug if it's a Diesel engine.
Why aren't the fuses labeled. It's not a problem finding them.
Exactly! Be so simple to have a diagram on the back of the covers, some vehicles have this.
You forgot the fuse box in the same place on the passengers side, it contains the 15 amp fuses for the trailer plug.

Doubt if that's a fuse, might be a switch on the gearbox that is faulty. Really not sure. Try some VW Forums. Let me know if you fix it.

Don't know I'm afraid. You may have to disconnect the power to reset it but make sure you have any security codes if the Radio has one.
Lurgs yes i don’t think it has any codes and i tried resetting from watching all kinds of videos but i just miss the radio everything that it provides
