My school tried to enforce a short rule, 3ins above the knee max. No cut offs either. I am nothing but leg, it became a problem. My 6'3" father came into the wearing the regulation shorts to make a point. They had to change the rule to 5in INSEAM inseam instead. 😂

I had a roommate that made up a stupid rule for our house. Mind you we were all adults 30+ years in age. She didn’t want any of us to have a guy in our room with the door closed, claiming she wanted to know they were there so they didn’t see her in her pajamas. I mostly ignored the rule. I’m sorry if you’re uncomfortable being seen in pajamas, but that’s not my problem! I might have a guy in my room and want privacy. She moved out later that year. Such a stupid rule for a bunch of adults

9:28 That device is quite clever, but also very stupid. It will mute the audio for a few seconds on either side of the bad word and sanitize the closed captioning. Sometimes, the few seconds isn't enough. Sometimes it has a false positive. Technology Connections has a video on it and how it works in principle. Ben Eater got nerd sniped and disassembled the sanitizing circuit to figure out it how it worked.

Every school I’ve ever attended or visited or even just hear of punished all students or the whole class for something only 1 or a group of students did. If your parents were rich suck ups you’d be able to get away with basically anything. Including not obeying the new rules and lack of privileges being used to punish us

Something funny I’ve noticed as a Canadian:
BC schools are incredibly sensitive with their dress codes and any shirt with a skull or gun on it will probably get you in trouble. Finger guns are not allowed.
High schools in Alberta don’t give a fuck. The other week, someone in my class wore a “Fuck bitches, get money” shirt to school twice in a row without being caught.

My last 2: back in high school you got 8 absent days with no affect on your grade. No exceptions. In the hospital? Better borrow a nurse’s laptop and attend online! Yes, they actually said we had to ask a nurse to borrow their laptop…
Also you got 2 bathroom breaks per semester during class time but only 4 minutes to get from class to class. No matter how far apart your classes were. I dropped out in 2018. No GED but it was better than that hell hole! I was failing anyways and definitely would not have graduated no matter what.

My high school required afab students to wear feminine clothing to all dances. Including prom. They gave a guy in school suspension for wearing a suit because he was trans… safe to say I never supported school spirit or any fundraisers or events. It was a public school… sadly that school played favorites. If your parents donated money a lot you were automatically better than everyone else :(

I was part of an online RP community from 16-19. One of my friends there had a serious problem with me even saying the name of another person in the community I was friends with. Like, if I mentioned her name, she’d start making public threats to quit/cut me off/commit suicide (They all kind of blended together). It was pretty apparent this was just a cover to force me to cut said friend off altogether; she really, REALLY hated that person for basically no reason, and took every opportunity to accuse me of favoritism towards her. Often (Re: Almost always), it was over incredibly petty things.
I don’t associate with that community anymore, and have long since drifted apart from my friends there, but I do know that, to this day, she thinks this behavior was completely valid and justified (It wasn’t).

Story #8: "Might be better if he never found out."
Nothing like promoting paternity fraud. Or... how about if we make DNA testing standard so people stop trying to take advantage of the wrong man as the father.

For decades, it's been a secondary school tradition to give the Year 12 students a graduating class jersey, to celebrate these students being there for their final year and representing their school. By the time it's my year level's turn to graduate, a new principle we've had for up to 2 years now was considering enforcing a new school uniform rule that would ban the graduation jerseys, making a case about how the jerseys "weren't a part of the school uniform for the rest of the student body and didn't want other students below us to feel like they didn't matter." She was very stern about enforcing this rule but ended up giving in, and soon allowed us to put in orders for our jerseys, but this came with a lot of caveats:
We wouldn't be getting our graduation jerseys until the last couple weeks of term 3. For those who don't know, Australia experiences winter during the middle of the year, and the end of term 3 for us is when spring's beginning to start. We would only be able to wear our graduation jerseys comfortably for maybe a couple months, because I don't know if you know this, but Australia gets very hot.
The yearlevels before us were given options to choose from and mostly picked lettermen jackets, but our principle only allowed us to pick these really ugly & really itchy sweaters, because they were the cheapest choice. That year alone, she spent a lot of money on new rooms & technology for the year 7s & 8s, everything to give new secondary school students a goodlooking experience. Anything left was just barely thrown at the students finishing their final year, and it showed with how underwhelming our graduation ceremony was compared to the ones that came before.
tl;dr our principle tried to make graduation jerseys against school uniform, even though it's been a tradition for decades.

    Oh, I got One!
Walmart (Because of Course it is!) Cap2 Receiving Faceing Shelves because there wasn't anything else to do. My supervisor (who I usually get along with fine)asked me if I was using the "stick" to measure the spacing?
    Me: "Stick? What Stick?"
    COMPLETELY SERIOUS
Her: "How can you do that without the stick?? You have to use THE STICK!"
Me: (CONFUSED) "Is it a Magic Stick?"
She leaves in a HUFF then comes back 5 minutes later and comes back with a gray PVC pipe about 18 in Long
"This is the stick! you HAVE to use the stick! Because that's how Arkansas wants it!"
Me: ( WOMAN You Done LOST YOUR MIND!)
    ..........
"Let me get this straight you want me to walk my gimp ass all the way across the store back to receiving for your magic stick that is......18in Long walk back to where I was....... when I LITERALLY have a tape measure in my Pocket??"
    "YES!"
    "No."
'You HAVE to use the Stick."
"I'm going to do SOMETHING with this stick, but you ain't going to like it!"
And then she left in a huff AGAIN

I forget for sure if it was during my junior or sophomore year of high school but the school board banned students from....ZIPPERS! of all things, they banned zippers. that meant; jeans, jackets, and even some shirts and off the wall clothing choices (that still were within guidelines for the rest of the dress code.) that lasted for all of two days since many students kept wearing their zippers regardless and even did a mass walk out when they tried to punish them for it.
