After a long review search I finally bought a bullet. I work in a trade area and this pen is amazing. I love the pen and how it writes. Been using mine for 2 months an bought another. I like to press down firmly on my paper to write and don’t care for gel pens. It works in the rain and snow for those awful work days. Living in Buffalo NY it gets a great outdoor and indoor usage review. For the price buy one.

Only thing I’ll add:
1. Rite In The Rain are just rebranded Fisher pens/refills.
2. Cap-O-Matic is also available in all metal (brass) designs. In fact, I had no idea they sold plastic versions until this video. The two I own are all metal.

The space-tech actually looks alot like old eversharp astro-tec. I found the eversharp at a estate sale and it also had an eversharp PR4 cartridge In it that amazingly still works despite being ancient.

Black Cap-o-matic for me. Best pen ive found, ill even look for it if theres another pen right in front of me. Cant believe I’m spending $20 on a pen, but i do. I have several at this point. Its great for work since i work outside for a utility company, and it works when filling out forms while leaning against the side of a truck. Keep one in the work truck, my backpack, and just bought another for my car. Cant be without one.
I now carry a AG7, CH4 and Pilot G2 .38mm. I love my all chrome and all brass Cap-o-Matics also. They have a smooth satisfying click. My chrome one has nurling at the finger write areas, it’s from 1981. What year was the CH4 introduced? Because mine has a $1.50 5/77, 1977 blue cartridge in it, I now use a fine black 2021 in it. My NIB AG7 I inherited NOS from my grandfather has a good writing black 8/72 cartridge in it, I now use a fine 2021 black in it.
I tried the bullet but it just didn't work all that well for me. I hardly used it as it is too small for my briefcase or even for a shirt pocket. And it was in a black PVD coated which, surprisingly, I didn't love. I gave it to my son so hopefully he will get some use out of it.
I have been using the all metal cap o matics for the last 3 to 4 years now, and I think they are seriously underrated. For the money, they look great, are robust and being Fishers, will write anywhere.
Finally, I just replaced the stock Parker style cartridge in my bolt action mini pen with a Fisher cartridge. Since this pen stays in the car most of the time, along with a flashlight and multi tool, I figured I should use an ink that can be used in both extreme heat and cold.
I love using the Space Pens but I have a few different ones then you showed. I have the an X-750, 3 Trekking, black bullet, backpacker, one with a green line, and I know I have more but I don’t know were there are. I want to get different color pens with matching ink of the color. Thanks for the video.
My fave is the CH4 for the same reasons you mentioned.
is the holder / the clip will move around up and down if you put force? cause what's the point having the clip if it can move around up and down easily and I assume won't hold that strong when it clip, correct me if I'm wrong
Fisher refills are all I buy now. My Rotrings and Fisher Refills (The RotFish) are my favorite setups. After that it'd be a zebra f701 with a fisher too..
I want to know about replacing the stylus pens. The rubberized stylus on my bullet tore off and it looks like I can screw off the metal fastener and replace it, but on Fischer website it says the rubberized parts won’t work with the bullet.m, but I’m suspicious that I will. Looking for advice.
Your silver ink pen comes with its uses printed on the card. The description is Silver Colored Ink, Bold Point, is visible on Rubber, Leather,

I have a bunch of Space Pens. I want to like them, but to me they write too stiffly. It's like pushing a shopping cart where one of the wheels is stuck. I try not be be in situations where I have to write under water, extreme heat or cold, or in outer space, so while I like the idea of a Space Pen, I'd rather not put so much work into overcoming the drag of the Fisher's ink cartridge.
Also, many of the Space Pen designs tend to be on the too-skinny side for me. But they are cool!

@@GP-bw1vg Good suggestion. I have tried them and they are very nice. I do really like the Space pens bodies though, but I haven't tried using a PowerTank refill in a Fisher yet.

@@jb6027 Agreed! They need to make a metal version because mine always end up taped where the clicker mech twists into the body.
Can you tell me where you're finding your prices? Everywhere I look all the pens are roughly double what you're quoting. I'd love to get an AG7 but I'm not going to spend 60 on it and I cant find it cheaper anywhere else.
Most were Amazon which means there is a range. Also the AG7 was buyable for about $35-40 in 2018 when the video was made but it's about $60 now, so there have been some drastic price increases as well.

Beside yours, I have the Futura, stars and stripes, 0 gravity, infinium, black grid, gold grid. No, not the silver writing pen, but I have the ordinary cartridge with silver ink. (Also purple, blue, red, green ink. And I have the cap-o-matic with both gold and silver top.) Pen collecting wishes from Liselotte in Karlstad, Sweden.

My rite in the rain pen looks like the cap-o-matic pen too just black. Just bought a Fisher bullet and trekker. Just got promoted from equipment operator to foreman and I gotta keep track of who's working now so I needed pens to write reports and timesheets

I like that you can use Fisher refills with spacer in other pens. I use blue medium in my Rotring Freeway.
can either of these pens write at a 10 or 20 degree angle? Id love to see a review using a triangular ruler with the degrees to see this. i got the fisher space bullet pen in the mail today and it barely writes at a 35 degree angle and cannot write at a 25 degree angle. I am not using the pen upside down. If the pen can truly write at any angle i assume its just a bad cartridge but id have to buy a refill to find out. I have only known brush pens or felt tips to write at these lower angles but I would love to have a ballpoint that can do the same.
This is more of an issue with the ballpoint design than it is the space pen. You might want a fountain pen or felt too for very low angles
so these things only write up to 35' under water? I was just doing research I am glad I heard you say that because I was about to recommend them to scuba divers but now I feel like I am going to need to do some more real world testing before I can put my seal of recommendation on them as a writing implement for serious divers

The length of our standard pressurized refill is 3 1/2 inches.

Yes but normally in a new refill, only the infinium is sold in blue from the factory I think

The retractable version of the bullet is invaluable in a professional kitchen.
Yeah, a ballpoint is great around heat, water, oil, etc. Can't be beat for that stuff

commando when you write at the beginning a little more ink comes out at once but It barely happens.
I love all the colors of the Bullet, but I wish they made a slender barrel version...the normal size is too chunky to be comfortable to write with for very long if you have small hands...a ladies barrel version in fun colors would be nice.

Actually we aren't. Rite in the Rain is one of our largest customers but we are very separate.

@@macdaddy9344 Correct. If I'm not mistaken, Rite in the Rain is actually a paper manufacturer (or at least they started out as that). Most of their pens are from Fischer rebranded as Rite in the Rain.
Where can you buy capomatic for $8
How do you stop the pens spring and cartridge from rattling? I have had mine for less than ten min and it basically drove me crazy. Why on earth did they put a fucking spring in the pen?
sometimes I add a second spring or a little bit of scotch tape
I am no longer a fan. I bought a brass one and the cap could be shaken off. Asked them for a new o ring. After messaging five times back and forth I wrapped some thread around the o ring area and put the o ring over it and it was okay. Younger people are not that enamored of this old technology that bloops ink. Only my age mates are still enamored of this pen and technology.

Not a big fan of fisher pens or refills and rite in the rain notebooks are not my cup of tea (maybe if they used regular paper instead of greasy paper as they do have nice design); just don't see why 'most' people would need astronaut type of refills or waterproof paper (waterpoof ink is perfectly fine on regular paper for most people I think.
Sometimes you just need a reliable writing instrument that lasts three times longer than a standard pen. :) We hope you'll give us a try.
And that sir is why we have several great options in the marketplace... something for everyone. Glad we don’t have a one size fits all options.
I work with a lot of cutting fluids, oils, and grease, this can be infuriating when it finds its way onto your writing surface.
I work in kitchens. My capomatic works in the freezer, and I can write on anything. They're great for these uses.
You don't have to be an "astronaut" to appreciate the ability to write at any angle. For those who journal, or write, it's nice to be able to quickly write a quick idea, name, quote, etc., if inspiration strikes while in bed. Not all mechanics are astronauts, either, but there's no head-scratching when it comes to the benefits of the "space pen" in a shop. See, don't let the name "space" or "astronaut" get in the way of purpose, Champ, and you'll be less stymied in the benefits. 🤔
Also, any firefighter, medic, LE, nurse (get the drift? Any person who might be writing "on-the-go," or otherwise at an angle) will appreciate not having to fling-then-scribble when their "non-astronaut" pen might be asked to perform in non-sedentary positions after "running out" of ink because of the angle.
Get out in life, and live a little - go write a poem upside down, jut because you can. If the whole "astronaut" word has you thinking you must be one, to use such a pen, go float around in a lake and pretend your a Comrad Cosmonaut 👩🚀 on the ISS. Life is not lived outside the box if you've always been camped out on your rump, writing at a desk, your whole life.
Anyway, "most" people who have had an "astronaut" pen love it. And "most" aren't astronauts. Just for you, they have "dependable" pens that "always write in any condition," and will probably last you "forever." And if you DO need to refill one, it means you've REALLY gotten outta your shell, and spent some time away from the 'puter, asking questions instead of providing answers. 🙃
Plus, the folks at Fisher Space Pens are really cool people, and it's a really awesome U.S. company, and hey - yeah, it IS pretty cool to be able to own the same pen that went to the moon (even if ya never did 😂).
