I had a dream about Waylon last night. I was at a country music festival in 2019. And on stage, was Waylon, playing "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way". Half of the audience had brought their guitar with them to play along with any song they knew. Then, like it had been planned on by the whole audience, everyone started to group up and sit in lines. I got up to join them, and before I could get in a line and sit in it, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around, and it was Waylon. He had offered to teach me a lesson, and of course, I said Yes. So we started to play. I remember it so vividly. I remember him placing my first finger on the 5th fret, 2nd string, 2nd finger 4th string 6th fret, and my 3rd finger on the 7th fret. He taught me how to play "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way" like he did, but on HIS guitar. It's single-handedly, the BEST dream I have ever had. Maybe when I fall asleep tonight he'll teach me another lesson. Here's hoping!!!
"Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way?" has two chords, B Major and E Major. (starting with the B Major and simply switches back and forth) The chord you're describing sounds like an E major with the 2nd string, 5th fret being an E and the 4th string, 6th fret being a G#, which is indeed part of an E Major chord, but you didn't say which string you play the 7th fret. Now if it were the 1st string you play the 7th fret on, it would be a B, so those three notes do indeed make an E major chord. But, then that leaves the 3d string open which is a G and a G is not a part of either chord. Was this a simple mistake (which would be understandable), or is that really what he told you, because of the simple fact that we can't actually learn something in our dreams we didn't already know. Which, would actually make more sense.
Awesome... A few years ago, when Waylon toured Australia with Willie, I not only got to see Waylon's guitar, but to hold it as well. I asked him about it at the end of the show and he went a got it out of it's case and handed it to me. It blew me away. Waylon was a great bloke and very friendly. He is greatly missed...
Trevor, God Bless you for not only creating, but sharing this video. As far as I'm concerned, it didn't fall on deaf ears or blind eyes. I know it came from your heart and Waylon is up there, smiling on you, on us all. God Bless you and keep doing what you're doing.
Some of the pictures have Waylon and Johnny Cash. I have never seen Johnny Cash with an electric guitar. I'm 14 and this is the only kind of music I listen to and damn proud for sure!
I'm.good friends with Vickie Payne & the legendary Willie Nelson guitar PLAYER MY BEST FRIEND JODY PAYNE. JODY IS A GREAT MAN .REST IN PEACE JODY AND SAY HELLO TO WAYLON FOR ME.
I'm am renovating Waylon's Recording studio in music square in Nashville and would love to speak to Terry....any help would be deeply appreciated....I'm hoping to have the studio producing music once again by next month...if you'd like to visit and see the place send me a PM and we can chat...
I have one of these guitars Lankford made its worth every penny! I am in Canada but i went to Franklin just to meet Terry after he did my Waylon guitar cover now I see everything in leather! Terry has made me 6 straps (3 Merle Haggard for my Tuff dog tele, 2 Waylon for the Waylon tele and a black Johnny Cash.. for my Cash Martin Guitar). He has also made me various wrist wraps as well! the workmanship is next to none! Love my Gear and if you get the chance all you totally need to get Terry's leather works in your possession for sure! THANKS TERRY!
Very good video all about waylon loved watching it all great songs in the back ground as well be great to see another one about him again cheers for the upload of it anyway proper outlaw music ive got a lot of is cds and dvds love watching is stuff a lot 👌
Great video!!! I was watching some of Waylons older videos and I kept looking at his guitar and wondering what the detail was.. Looks like I came to the right man!!! VERY cool!!!
Trevor love this video, but most of all..love the fact you are help keeping the sound and the music of the true Waylon around..if not for them..There would have never been country music. Around 8mins into this Waylon talks of a Harmony Guitar..Believe it or not..when i was around 13 my grandparents too me to nashville and in a pawn shop bought me $100 guitar..what was it a Harmony..of course it didn't look fancy but will never forget that brand..Im proud to call you a friend!!
I had a local guy do me up a replica of Bo's white wavy lined belt from The Dukes of Hazzard. I wear it everyday & it looks like the day he made it. I always did like that guitar in the video 'cuz of Dukes. Leather's one thing that doesn't wear out easy, unlike other materials.
I bought a leather pick guard for my Fender Telecaster and I’m looking forward to getting I got off of EBay and miss WAYLON every dam day love that man miss you HOSS your the reason why we all love leather and we want it on our Telecasters every chance we get
Very nice... Interesting how the USA body was routed for the Nashville configuration. I also notice you swapped out the original bridge (?) Was it because the original had an incurable buzz on the high E?
