What a huge Deja Vu! ... I also received my SJ9 end of July (just after I sent them a note to cancel my order) and I had the same 'rattle box' experience! I have the same issue with the battery compartment and I only used the cam on one run for run selfies, but the response time between shutter click and actual photo seems way too long ... so, overall dissapointed I stashed the cam away and then life happened and instead of getting upset I keep using my SJ5000, which has been working wonders for years now ... but today I dug up the SJ9 and while googling on how to do FW update and how to turn EIS on, I found this video. Thanks so much for it
Yeah, that first batch seems to be ... bad. SJ10 Pro is on its way too. The SJ5000 is one of the best actioncams designed ever - keep on using it too.😊
Excellent and most honest review. I just got an SJ8 Pro and terribly disappointed with it. 1) I had to get a hackers firmware to make 1080P 60 FPS get 60 Mbps bit rate. Official firmware bitrate even after a year is just 30 Mbps. 2) Quality control is too poor. I randomly get annoying loud noises from the internal mic, thereby making the internal mic sound useless for my vlogs. 3) The external mic solves the random annoying loud noises but it is over sensitive. It captures and makes my voice too loud and crackling. SJ 7 was their last best cam with problems that we could live with but not anymore. My future cam's will be from DJI Osmo or Hero Go Pro and that's final !!
Thanks for the honest review! Think I'm gonna keep my Firefly 8SE 170°FOV for now, don't need anything better atm, anyway I'm recording only in 1080@60 EIS
I wish that SJCAM would of built an improved version of the SJ7 Star with some of the features of the SJ9 Strike and maybe call it SJ7 Star Pro, with a larger touch screen and tripod mount. I just love the build and premium feel of the SJ7 Star.
I have not had any deal-breaking issues with the SJCam stuff in the past but I did always notice little things that could be improved. I too have received comments about other bigger issues on some of my videos which did make me a bit wary to pre-purchase this one though and it looks like I made the right decision to skip it. Unfortunate as the SJ4000 series is what got me into reviewing in the first place.
I loved my SJ4000 and used it and abused it until the buttons stopped working. I replaced it with an SJ6 Legend and have been pretty meh about it. I shoot with my Osmo Pocket way more often and use the Legend pretty much only in the waterproof case on my surfboard and it still messes up and fails to record some times! Shame because I have been a huge SJ Cam fan for a long time but it seems like they are losing their way.
I used to review SJCam products. I’m going to be reuploading a lot of my old reviews. I was one of the people that used to advise them on features. I’m shocked that their quality has dropped so much and the price rose so much.
The SJ 8 Pro is horrible! My camera is going to complaint three times in half year! First camera is freezing, second camera had blinking display and third camera had bad microphone. Unveliable. And sound on cameras? For the panoramatic videos amazing, but for recording riding on motorcycle, software not recording sound properly. Wind blowing to microphone absolutely destroy sound....Horible cam
I was considering buying one but after reading what little information was available and seeing the test footage from the people who managed to get one a month ago, something smelled fishy. I'm thinking about going for the SJ8 Pro. Is there a better alternative in the 150-200$ price range that you'd recommend instead?
I've been using a SJ6 Legend for about a year now and love it. I thought about a 8 pro, but with all the bugs they have (original version anyhow) I'm more than happy with my SJ6. I record everything in 1080p 60fps EIS on. Works for me!
Tiago - I very much share Fred's opinion - GoPro is a wonderful camera, and I'd go for a second-hand unit rather than paying 250 bucks for a product with suspicious quality. Price difference is not that big; Now, if we talk about budget-friendly devices - then for around $100 now there's the Akaso V50X which from what I see from testing is remarkable!
Hey, most welcome! In fact I got a message from SJCAM and they would like to take the opportunity and fix the units sold so far; Seems like there will be a new revision with the problems fixed.
Regardless of all negativity I have one on order. I ignored all the bad negativity of the Firefly 8SE and bought that last year, I personally never encountered any problems with my 8SE and updated the firmare to U105 not so long ago. I even modded its lens so it could see IR and I film in total darkness using IR lights.
Hey, than's an awesome mod that you've done to the 8SE. The Strike should have a newer revision that is supposed to be more stable. SJCAM promised to send me a renewed unit once it is available, and if that happens - I will review that.
I had been a long term customer of SJCAM. Sj4000, SJ6 (which I forgave for turning audio off on its own sometimes) but then bought SJ8 Pro and SJ Gimbal 2. The gimbal lasted about 6 weeks before a motor malfunction rendered it useless. The touchscreen on the SJ8 then stopped working. I contacted SJCAM and got no response so I went back to the store on Ali Express where I bought the SJ8 from. I was told I had to send it back to the factory in China BUT I couldn't send it with a signed for delivery as it would be refused. So I'm expected to send the camera with no tracking or guarantee of delivery notification. Sorry, SJCAM you can go take a hike. I bought an Osmo Action now and wouldn't buy a single thing from SJCAM ever again.
Ian - it is so sad that you are another person that has been treated like that. Which was the ALiexpress store? Feel free to leave a link so that we know what should be avoided. Also - is there a way to open a case or something? Aliexpress are often supportive when it comes to helping customers resolving problems.
Hey... I guess you Missed one review in this... As there is one feature of Wireless charging.... Could you please show us how does this feature works in SJ cam strike?
Hey I am looking for a budget action cam for time lapse and MTB ride . What do you recommend ? Akaso V50x or Xiaomi Yi Lite ? Or something else ? 4K isn't my top choice but video in 1080 must look good .
Yi 4k Plus if you had a bit extra Yi lite is a far better camera Akaso Is not in same league , the product is not bad but seem lacking. compared to to the Yi.
Ever since I got my sjcam 6 legend and i got lines through the video and horrible customer service I'll never buy another garbage product from this company If you want quality go with gopro or dji osmo products. Thanks for your honest video
@@TechMishka yes even their gimbals another follow I follow on RUclips worth it or not Channel has basically said everything after the sj4000 and 5000 models they've had lots of issues
Hi, great review thanks, I recently purchased the SJCAM SJ8 PRO camera plus the SJCAM Gimbal 2, great kit except cannot get the app - SJCAM Zone to connect to the gimbal at all plus trying to connect the camera is a nightmare. Does anyone know if there is a solution to this or if there is any other app that will control the gimbal? It seems SJ CAM have zero support for customers, their website has no contact options. TIA for any input.
my purpose of removing usb port door is to have extended battery life while making vlog. although you can plug it directly even with out battery inserted.
OMG, I was excited about this one from what I seen on their website. But after seeing what you showed here, I'm disappointed too. The SJ8 Pro had some problems but I was able to overcome them and it's a far more better built them the SJ9 Strike. MMMmmmm...Have to really thing about this product. I've been happy with some of SJCAM's products....SJCAM SJ5000X Elite, which I own three for over 2 years, SJ7 Star which I own two and really love it's premium and quality build, and now the SJ8 Pro.
The Elite is a different league. I used to have the SJ4000 for years, it was used for 2 years as a dashcam and was so durable! SJ7 was the last generation I was quite happy with, however many people were reporting freezing issues. And it was the only cam based on that chipset with that many complaints. The SJ8 Pro is good - if it is from the later batches - good optics, not freezing. But there was no official statement and cure for the early units. Quite sad...
Hi @Tech4All thanks for review and i am happy to fly with turkish airlines :) I bought SJ8 plus last week. I haven't had a chance to try it yet. Do you think sj9 strike is worth buying? Should I upgrade my device? or is it too early for this ?
I think the Plus is a great one. The SJ9 Strike seems to be getting a new revision - at least this is the last thing SJCAM have communicated to me. So - better wait for some news from their side.
Surprisingly the last good SJ camera was the SJ5000+ because for a third of the price of a gopro of that time, it actually delivered good results. Today, when a GoPro8 and a DJI Osmos exist... there is no reason to bother with any other action camera that is more expensive than 100$, because if you are going to go cheap, you need to at least got very cheap to justify not getting a GoPro. The only thing that could have beaten the shit out of the gopro and dji was the Sony RX0 II, but it failed at being an action camera, and apart from the bigger sensor, it really doesn't justify anything else, including the 2x price of a GoPro8.
So what if the case was damaged? That was a result of the courier not SJCam. I've tested 50+ cameras and seen others that didn't survive in that kind of packaging. It's video quality and support that counts. I've tested nearly all the SJCam range and most have been really good. SJ8 Air not great. I have a SJ9 Strike coming in two days and I will reserve my judgement until I see the results.
@@ianmoto1410 I tested air and plus, but wasn't very impressed. Pro was supposedly better. SJCam have made some great cameras the last few years. One I use most is SJ7 Star. M20 was great. 5000xElite. SJ6Legend.. too.
If a mount is damaged during transportation, how do you expect this same mount to be trustworthy for an ACTION scene? Lucky you for getting properly working SJCAMs - but you may take a look at people's comments about a lot of these ... stories.
@@TechMishka I just received one a few days ago for review and yes, the camera was rattling about in the case. BUT, check out my review, the bracket wasn't actually broken. I can't see how it ever came loose from the bracket? ruclips.net/video/KKiUl_6XjCE/видео.html
Hello Michael, this camera looks a real disappointment, i just bought the SJ8 Pro last week, so far so good, the image quality even at 1080 60fps is superb, and the stabilisation is excellent, i'm really impressed with the battery life aswell, i've just bought the external microphone and it sounds very good. I checked the firmware version on my SJ8 Pro camera and it seems to be from november 2019 version 1.3.2, so far i'm really happy with the camera, the picture quality has really impressed me. The only negative was the first day i tried it out it was a windy day and the internal mics picked up lots of wind noise but the sound will hopefully be better now i have the external mic.
That's great news! The SJ8 Pro also had some issues, but that was affecting only some batches. If it works fine - it's a superb camera! Enjoy it a lot!
Can anyone tell if they were able to fix their RAW converter? With the SJ8 Pro I was only able to convert the RAW files (no DNG in camera) by using a third party converter as the one supplied by SJCAM was not working. I would also like to know if the bitrate in 1080p is now higher. The bitrate in the SJ8 Pro was way too low and virtually unusable. It was only usable with a modded firmware that gabe 25MBit/s in 1080p@60fps using H.265 (or about 35MBit/s using H.264). 1080p@60fps with high bitrate is what most users still need. The hype for 4K (mostly with way too low bitrates to achieve good quality) is just a marketing gag. Most people don't know how good 1080p can look like if there was a good encoder using sufficient bitrate. In Austria and Germany the SJ9 Strike costs almost as much as a GoPro 7 Hero or the DJI Osmo Action and both companies have way better support than SJCAM. I can see not a single argument to buy a SJ9. Too buggy, too expensive and a terrible costumer (un)support.
Hallo Michael! Such a nice comment, although reading all that makes me feel sad and reminds me of the many complaints in regard to that. I have struggled with the RAW too... Glad you've found these custom firmwares - and they indeed improve the footage a lot.
Hello there, I have been using SJ5000X Elite since August 2016. No problems or glitches so far. This summer I even put it on the balcony (38 degrees during the day), connected to the charger and doing TimeLapse for the whole day - still working. I have been using it for 2 years for a dash cam as well. So far - no problems. I am looking for a new replacement and saw your video. Thank you very much, I guess I will try another brand P. S. I see a lot of videos shot in Bulgaria? Are you from Bulgaria or just using videos from here? Cheers
The SJ5000X was produced at the time when SJCAM paid more attention to quality control :-) They promise to have fixed the SJ( in a new revision, but it is still not there.
@@TechMishka Yeah, this is sad, I will keep my Gopro Hero 7 Black for the moment, and my old Elephone Explorer Pro 4K🙂, which was btw a great value for money camera. Thanks again for your work 👍👍
I've been happy SJ9Strike user (like the quality, stabilisation etc), and after few hours of normal usage (no extreme temperatures, humidity, shocks etc) the sjcam started displaying "No card" warning - but the card is perfectly fine (tested on other devices). My SJ9Strike is useless now.
Well... I better say nothing, cause it ain't be good and polite... Sorry about that, mate! Really hope that the place where you boight it from has a return policy.
i have sjcam m20 and totally satisfied to its performance. maybe sjcam are not that ready to release New upgrades cam. seems like they are just in hurry to release new. that's why they came up with this low built quality camera.
Is this their flagship? I went to their website it is hard to figure out. This one it says "preorder ships in June" lol. They do not even update their website. I find this alone to be enough to avoid them, does not take very long to update a website.
It's a shame the Hero 7 Black and Osmo Action are so far ahead of all the budget options it simply makes no sense to use them for anything semi-serious. I use the Hero 7 Black for cycling and have yet to find a suitable alternative. This SJcam looks super cheap.
I am happy with SJ5000X Elite I thought SJCAM have done a great job with SJ5000X Elite so maybe I should upgrade to SJ9 Strike but you guys have some issues so then I don’t know.....
I will be reviewing it in a few days time, I have on arriving wednesday. I've reviewed loads of SJCams 50 cameras on my channel inc 5000xElite. Great camera. Check out my channel!
@@TechMishka I agree with that. I tested the SJ8 Air and Plus and was not impressed. I just reviewed the SJ9 strike, Good video but not such a good price. ruclips.net/video/KKiUl_6XjCE/видео.html
Tech4All I am sorry I compared SJ8 Pro and SJ9 Strike I don’t see both have same hardware for example SJ9 Strike have SuperSmooth feature and SJ8 Pro does not. Also SJ9 have waterproof body which is better than SJ8.....Feel like SJ8 Pro is NOT GoPro Hero 7 Black killer.....
Absolutely right ! mine has mic failure, cover crack and scratched lens with they have refused replacement. I will make a small video also. Extremely poor quality.
What the difference bettwen ac cam(like mijia 4k, sjcam, yi, akaso) and digital compact camera(like canon ixus 190, sony wx, nikon coolpix) ?? I need a camera for good video n low light video n slow motion too.
The action cameras have fixed infinity focus, and often you cannot control aperture, shutter speed. But they are smaller and easier to mount on weird places. The compact cameras are bigger and more capable and better for low light.
Stay away from sjcam. My sj6 had a connection problem many months ago. Wrote to their help desk for a ‘ticket’ so that I can send it for repair. No response even after 4 weeks. Then, I sent another request a few weeks later but no response as well. Even sent a reminder as a follow up after 2 weeks. Yet, not even a peep! I’m not the only one experiencing this poor after sales service. There are a lot of frustrated customers in their forum section too. Now, I’m having a useless sjcam camera that is just collecting dust in my drawer. Better off buying other brands such as Akaso, Eken, Xiomi, Kaiser Bass, or Veho.
Hallo iam from Indonesia. I have a sjcam sj9 strike then I want to ask if the external mic cover can be removed? the problem is that if you use the frame for the helmet, it cannot open the cover external mic. Then I saw someone selling accessories that protect the frame that has a lid if using an external mic, can it really be removed?
i think the reason behind removel of flat colour profile is freezing issue...!!! Noticed this afterwords on my Sj8 pro.... if i recorded flat colour profile + distortion correction + stabilization + wifi + 1080p @60p =heat and freeze (RIP H22) now i rarely use it..!
@@TechMishka We got used to the cheap electronics, and this price is really unbelievable, but some times it unfortunately happens. For instance yesterday a was in a restaurant with my friends and was forced to pay 35$ per person almost for nothing even though the normal price that I pay even for better quality is less than 10$.
Probably broken, and probably out of warranty support :( Have you tried a factory reset? Maybe you can keep on asking them - some action cameras have a special bin-file used for recalibration of the gyro sensor.
@@TechMishka i already search thru out internet and message SJcam and unfortunately there's no response or even sulotion of the problem also i tried to reset..
definitely had issue with interior microphone of Sjcams, I got SJ4000X and Sj9, both with terrible sound recording. The sound is very small with a low frequency noise all the time. I found the same pain in this channel T . T
I was about to buy this SJ9 Strike until I saw this video. Now I am totally puzzle on which one to buy. My intention was only to buy something which is not GoPro but the quality shouldn't be too far from it. If you have any suggestion please reply my comment, thanks in advance folks!
It is a tough choice. I am expecting to receive the new Mokacam and it is quite good. One thing I can certainly recommend for great quality overall is the Akaso v50X.
think twice about the voice recording quality. If you record videos without sound that will be fine. But if you are in need of a proper voice while recording, this will be a pain.
i just received my newly repair or should i say new one sj9 strike. thanks to ma'am Mary whose send me another one with comes of whole package like brand new. hope this will be tough.
SJCAM... I have an M10: good enough for it's price. I have an SJ7 Star also: freezes regularly, and puffed up all of its batteries... just an expensive trash :( In the support forum, people had so much problem with SJ8, that I gave up on SJCAM entirely.
It is so sad to see a big company like them cutting the wrong corners. |They seem to now have the will to fox the SJ9, and let's hope this will be a decent upgrade.
The SD card port on my Max broke today 🤷🏽♂️ it still works and can be removed with an earring but this camera has truly been a disappointment. I find that the resolution isn’t the best. Or perhaps, I’m not using the correct video editor program to get 1080p60. I can only get 1080p.
The 60P is there and works fine, at least here. Two weeks ago I've emailed SJCAM's support and asked for fixing it - and they have created for me an RMA; Doing most of that from my personal email, so looks like they serve me as they would serve other customers too. Maybe you can try too - log a case via their website; There's holiday in China this week - so expect answer no earlier than next week.
I don't agree with you on the price.. It depends on the country I guess. In Australia the ssjcam sj9 strike from china would be $240, the dj osmo is $500, the gopro 7 black is $500.. So its a saving of $250 which is better in cost wise.. It will be interesting what they come up with this year in action cams seeing as sjcam has brought out the first cheap Chinese waterproof body action cam. Which in my mind is great cause I can't afford to buy a $500 tiny camera I rather go cheap if I can get similar quality as I will only be recording in 1080p really for sea kayaking but really want a waterproof camera like gopros without the case cause I have a firefly 8 and no joke.. I have gone through 5 cases.. The latch on top keeps breaking and each case ranges from $16 to $30 each.. The camera cost me $100.. so already I've spent $100 to $200 in cases alone.
Got your point, Alisha. And it is good that in Australia the SJ9 was not that expensive. We shall see more action cameras with waterproof body this year. On the other side - while the DJI Osmo Action and the Hero 8 are more expensive - their image stabilization will do great with the kind of sports you practice.
Oh, Yeah one other thing no firmware update is going to help the build of the camera itself. " Cheap Plastic shell and that's suppose to be waterproof?" This must be a Prototype!!!
madone 05 Due to the cameras properties which lack probability it was released early probably to see how the public would react that’s just an opinion.
@@borasiman648 this reviewer pre-ordered the sjcam, so it is not a prototype, just like what you commented, it is an official SJCAM sj9 strike. You also stated that the 9 series have a lot of problems, therefore it really is an "Expensive Disappointment" BTW I was also tempted to pre-order this, good thing I didn't.
@@caseycaseyacaaca i said its "like a prototype" its unfinished and unoptimized. Its not his fault its sjcam's fault because they rush the sj9 released but they're fixing the sj9 issues and making it better that's what i like about sjcam but Even gopro H7B has stabilization problem when they first release it. But i can't really say sj9 strike is expensive cause its still 60% cheaper than gopro and it will be cheaper after 1 year. For me i don't care how long will it take for sjcam to improve sj9 strike the most important is it will be perfect when they released it again soon.
@Bora Siman Bora Siman - this is NOT a prototype. This is a unit which was paid and ordered by me, just as a lot f other customers have done. It is officially released and apparently you can buy it from their website. You seem to be a person involved with SJCAM - which on one side is great, but on the other side - shows their favorite tactics - to always try to be represented by someone who doesn’t confirm his identity, so that when things get shameful - to simply say - “oh, this person is a contractor and not an official representative”. This is not how you do business. Basically - you either say “Hey, I am from SJCAM, we messed up, please all the affected users - send us the proof of purchase and we will replace the device with a well build revision”, or simply don’t. It happens the same as with the SJ8 Pro - a batch with issues was sold to many people and no one cared about the freezing ones. And they were many. You are right - GoPro Hero 7 had stabilization issues, GoPro Hero 6 had a lot of firmware issues. But none of these models had fundamentally mis-designed housing. None of them were falling apart. Here’s a simple reminder what is wrong with it so far: - broken body (two independent places) - not working microphone - freezes - pretty bad EIS - broken out of the box mount At a discount - GoPro is quite close in terms of price, and the Osmo Action was down to $320 a couple of days ago. And this broken promise - “it will be perfect when released again” This sums up the whole SJCAM philosophy - promising things that often never happen. Have you ever tried calling the support line - +1 202 888 3290. Cause I have - numerous times :D And - surprise - it is unavailable! As usual - I remain open to communication with SJCAM - if they show me that there’s a new, well working batch, and I notice that they replace all the messed up early units of their customers - I commit to do a new video (just like I promised last year for the SJ8 Pro). Something tells me that this won’t really happen, and it won’t be because of me
i just sent my broken sj9 to sjcam admin last July 23, but untill now i still havent receive my newly repair camera. just send email to the customer service and look for ms. Mary. every tue. she will reply your email

Buy the yi 4k or yi 4k+, they are the best
@@fredr. I'm guessing you wrote this on your Mac while having a coffee at Starbucks.
Yeah, both of these keep a lot of people quite happy
Tiago - I very much share Fred's opinion - GoPro is a wonderful camera, and I'd go for a second-hand unit rather than paying 250 bucks for a product with suspicious quality. Price difference is not that big; Now, if we talk about budget-friendly devices - then for around $100 now there's the Akaso V50X which from what I see from testing is remarkable!
I have a old SJcam 5000. I have shot numerous videos using that, very content. However, this model looks crap . Thanks for the review!!
@@TechMishka awesome.
@@TechMishka Official SJCAM store. I can't be bothered with it all to be honest. A friend had similar issue with GoPro a few months back.
Hey... I guess you Missed one review in this... As there is one feature of Wireless charging.... Could you please show us how does this feature works in SJ cam strike?
I didn't have any wireless charger back then, and never tested it.
I keep my DJI Osmo Action instead! Thanks for the video, very informative.
The Osmo Action is far more superior than the SJ9 in any aspect. And the firmware updates make it better and better.
DJI Osmo Action is perfect! I am very glad to buy it instead the SJ9 Strike!
Both have similar hardware, with the V50X being very trendy lately. Tomorrow the review of the V50X will be published.

Ever since I got my sjcam 6 legend and i got lines through the video and horrible customer service I'll never buy another garbage product from this company If you want quality go with gopro or dji osmo products. Thanks for your honest video
Thanks for the comment. Looks like there are far more people with troubled SJCAM devices than what one would expect...
My external mic on the SJ8 is too sensitive. If you faced the same issue, how did you solve it ?
The Elite is a different league. I used to have the SJ4000 for years, it was used for 2 years as a dashcam and was so durable! SJ7 was the last generation I was quite happy with, however many people were reporting freezing issues. And it was the only cam based on that chipset with that many complaints.
The SJ8 Pro is good - if it is from the later batches - good optics, not freezing. But there was no official statement and cure for the early units. Quite sad...
Is there a way to lower the volume?
Tech4All yes In Sj8 we can reduce the mic volume level. I have to try and see if the sensitivity reduces or not.
I hope to see SJCAM bouncing back. Fingers crossed.
HELLO THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO ... DO YOU KNOW IF YOU CAN USE IT AS A WEB CAM / PC CAMERA (USB CABLE)?
You cannot use it as a web cam.
So what if the case was damaged? That was a result of the courier not SJCam. I've tested 50+ cameras and seen others that didn't survive in that kind of packaging. It's video quality and support that counts. I've tested nearly all the SJCam range and most have been really good. SJ8 Air not great. I have a SJ9 Strike coming in two days and I will reserve my judgement until I see the results.
bobflyman actually i am using sj8 pro for almost a year but i did not find a major issue
@@ianmoto1410 I tested air and plus, but wasn't very impressed. Pro was supposedly better. SJCam have made some great cameras the last few years. One I use most is SJ7 Star. M20 was great. 5000xElite. SJ6Legend.. too.
@madone 05 Exactly. I don't think totally waterproof camera is important. My review will be online in a week or so with more clips, 4K and 1080 60.
Hey this is a cool channel! I found it when I searched for reviews of the Amazfit Stratos. Subbed! 👍
Yeeeeah! One more on the team, thank you so much 👍😉
thanks for honest reviews bro
Most welcome, sir!
Hello there,
I have been using SJ5000X Elite since August 2016.
Thank you very much, I guess I will try another brand
P. S. I see a lot of videos shot in Bulgaria? Are you from Bulgaria or just using videos from here?
Cheers
The SJ5000X was produced at the time when SJCAM paid more attention to quality control :-)
They promise to have fixed the SJ( in a new revision, but it is still not there.
Thank you for sharing your experience, great review 👍👍!
Most welcome. I was about to say "pleasure was all mine", but the pleasure was only while working on the video, not the actual usage of the camera 🙃👍
@@TechMishka Yeah, this is sad, I will keep my Gopro Hero 7 Black for the moment, and my old Elephone Explorer Pro 4K🙂, which was btw a great value for money camera.

Well... I better say nothing, cause it ain't be good and polite...

i have sjcam m20 and totally satisfied to its performance. maybe sjcam are not that ready to release New upgrades cam. seems like they are just in hurry to release new. that's why they came up with this low built quality camera.
Is this their flagship? I went to their website it is hard to figure out. This one it says "preorder ships in June" lol. They do not even update their website. I find this alone to be enough to avoid them, does not take very long to update a website.
Very true. If it only was the website... 🙃👍
wow man...made my life..
Nice one Subscribed...Keep'em comin....

Are there still issues with SJ8 Pro? Haven't they fixed it? I'm looking into buying one.
My second SJ8 Pro was quite fine and I still regularly use it. Looks like the SJ9 will have a similar faith and there will be a good new revision.
Wow!! Waterproof is amazing ))) Just from box ))
While being at the waterpark it still had the USB cover in one piece, but now I will likely avoid water 😇
@@TechMishka bAd...bad...quality (((
It's a shame the Hero 7 Black and Osmo Action are so far ahead of all the budget options it simply makes no sense to use them for anything semi-serious. I use the Hero 7 Black for cycling and have yet to find a suitable alternative. This SJcam looks super cheap.
It does... Have a look at the Akaso V50X - quite a good new addition.
I am happy with SJ5000X Elite I thought SJCAM have done a great job with SJ5000X Elite so maybe I should upgrade to SJ9 Strike but you guys have some issues so then I don’t know.....

Absolutely right ! mine has mic failure, cover crack and scratched lens with they have refused replacement. I will make a small video also. Extremely poor quality.
Oh, so the front is also scratchable :( We add even more issues on the list...

AKASO V50 PRO doing good here. But nothing like a GoPro!

Of course! 😇 There are two or three other cameras to test prior to that and it will be the SJ10 Pro then 😇
Which is best Akaso v50x or SJ 9 strike ? Please answer
I cannot recommend the SJ9 in any form. The SJ10 though seems to be much better.
Tried with mine and it broke. They promised to fix it, but...
i think the reason behind removel of flat colour profile is freezing issue...!!!
Noticed this afterwords on my Sj8 pro....
if i recorded flat colour profile + distortion correction + stabilization + wifi + 1080p @60p =heat and freeze (RIP H22)
now i rarely use it..!
Ouch :(
When you say that - I actually don't use the flat profile on the non-freezing Pro model. That's a nice idea for testing 😏👍

SJCAM... I have an M10: good enough for it's price. I have an SJ7 Star also: freezes regularly, and puffed up all of its batteries... just an expensive trash :(
In the support forum, people had so much problem with SJ8, that I gave up on SJCAM entirely.
It is so sad to see a big company like them cutting the wrong corners.

Merecia um acabamento mais caprichado mais as imegens são otimas!
Suggest me a memory card for sj9 strike for recording 4k videos
Sandisk have good models. Get something with U3 specs.
On the other side - while the DJI Osmo Action and the Hero 8 are more expensive - their image stabilization will do great with the kind of sports you practice.
in aliexpriess gopor hero 7 is now 310$...so why to buy such this
Yup! And the Osmo action last week was $260...

Expensive disappointment? What you got is an prototype like sj9 strike its not fully finished... Sjcam will re-released the proper sj9 strike soon
Then why sjcam did a pre-order for the 9 series if it is not ready?
@@caseycaseyacaaca they made a mistake They rush the product and boom alot of issues
@@borasiman648 this reviewer pre-ordered the sjcam, so it is not a prototype, just like what you commented, it is an official SJCAM sj9 strike.
You also stated that the 9 series have a lot of problems, therefore it really is an "Expensive Disappointment"
BTW I was also tempted to pre-order this, good thing I didn't.
Here’s a simple reminder what is wrong with it so far:
- broken body (two independent places)
- not working microphone
- freezes
- pretty bad EIS
- broken out of the box mount
At a discount - GoPro is quite close in terms of price, and the Osmo Action was down to $320 a couple of days ago.
Something tells me that this won’t really happen, and it won’t be because of me
Hahaha you really have all the luck... nice videos anyway!

Sj7 pro and sj8 pro were both horrible experiences for me! HORRIBLE! Complete waist of my money. And now it seems the sj9 is worse than ever!
Stay away from this company I cannot say it any other way
Very controversial quality control, unfortunately 😟 But they do have good models, we have to admit that. If they work...
SJ 6 legend cam is worst product gyro stopped working just second use
SOunds like a faulty unit. Get it replaced.
Buy old model gopro than this sjcam.no match.
Mhm, very good point!
Not a practical product
Looks like the SJ10 fixes all the build quality issues; I will review it as soon as it is a final version and available for purchase.
R u sjcam hater?
I dislike expensive products with bad quality and obvious inconsistencies between promises and reality.
As you may see from the pinned comment - I have added a note on behalf of SJCAM after they contacted me. It's not my fault they mess second generation in a row...
