Thing is. Tom likes to say that other youtubers dislike him what's rubbish. A few youtubers comment that how can he say ppl dobt like him when he never replys to comments or even talks to any other youtubers
Can't disagree strongly enough with some of those comments - the one time I needed advice on a career as an Electrician being over 30, nearly 40 actually, Tom was there, happy to respond and we pinged a few emails back and forward. He helped, he gave me advice, for free in his own personal time. What more can someone ask when he probably had a long hard day? Give the guy a break, he's doing his best.
apparently, some forget that you are running a business... and everything falls on you and you have staff and families that depend on you to keep them employed... they think that you are their private entertainment... until they pay your bills and wages .. they can sod right off.

Especially while he’s trying to grow it, 6 staff 3-4 vehcles, and an office are not cheap and he has to pay for them before focusing on RUclips and social media

Unless he got the toothpaste for free, I think he _did_ pay for tooth whitening, though - and then did all the work himself.
BTW, activated charcoal toothpastes are good at removing stains, but not really meant to be used long-term, it's basically like sandblasting your teeth.
I’m surprised that, being self employed, that you have the time to put these videos out. We the viewers maybe sometimes forget that as interesting and entertaining the videos are, that you are first and foremost running a business and not just entertaining us. As a retired electrician I find the videos very interesting, the job has certainly changed since my day, which is as it should be.

Your right, I have neither the time or patients to do a channel, and although I will give both positive and constructive feedback, I do appreciate the time and effort that goes into filming their videos.

That's the problem when writing something, one person can interpret it as it was meant to, then another could see it a different way and think you are being negative or critical

Love your channel, I have missed the content but understand why. Ignore the knobs and haters. Look forward to seeing the new direction of your company. Retired now but was a sparky for 30 years in all sorts of industry. Hated domestic electrics. Much preferred industrial work.
Can’t say I like the domestic much. It’s ok with the right customer but for the most part, many domestic clients just want cheap and I just can’t be arsed with it

Dude, crack on you have come a verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry long way in a seemingly short space of time. I don't think people fully appreciate how much it takes to get all this together. My head hurts just thinking about it all. I am happy as a one man band taking a few pics of my work for records. I may have posted the odd questionable comment but hold a huge amount of respect for you. Thanks Tom and good luck with it all. I do miss watching you moan about being stuck in awkward spaces swapping fuseboards in rat infested basements.

Some of us DO understand that you are running a business and we were LUCKY to have had the old videos as they were. Time was right, but Tom is an Electrician/ youtuber not a youtuber/electrician. If we all started PAYING for the videos then maybe Tom could afford to interact more and be a youtuber who also does a little electrical work..... Day may come, but until then, let the man run the business and be happy that we get updates....his success is NOT measured by views or satisfying the YT masses, but by the actual Electrical work done by his growing company.
You and DSS are good examples of great spark channels that are growing in their own directions and still maintaining my interest....THANKS!

You know for every person complaining there are ten people not complaining but is the complainers who comment and skew the feedback.
Definitely right about the boundaries at work. Being in management positions its definitely a good idea to keep I clear. My first ever role I thought being pally pally with my staff would make it easier but they soon start to push the boundaries, coming in later. Leaving early etc etc
We have the big uni mogs at work and they are awesome but yeah I don't imagine you need to have something that's insulated against 33000 volts🤣

While like others the time between uploads is frustrating but I could see that you were otherwise occupied and that RUclips is not the main part of your business. Just as a tip, on your boxes buy yourself some mountable clipboard clips (chuck that phrase in google) and fix them to the boxes. You can then clip the job sheet to them using a standard layout (job number, date, staff, location, brief description) then core parts listings. You can then use part of your layout to highlight any items that are oversize on seperate shelves (usually simple 3 column tick boxes work "in box/oversize/direct")

Keep building your business, if you get time to put videos out as well that's a bonus. They are interesting, but they should not be your priority.

I think the guy who commented "knob" is a very interesting person.
I think they should be invited to do a short video on their company, give us a "walk round" of the premises, introduce the staff, show what types of jobs they do, what projects they are working on, what investments they are making, what plans they have for their company etc.
I'm sure it'll be a very interesting and entertaining video.
In the unlikely event he / her / it doesn't own a company, I think they should give a presentation on their day to day life, what they do for a living / occupation, hobbies, family life, what projects they are working on, how they are improving their life and where they live, their hopes, aspirations, any charity work they do, if they are involved in any community groups or projects.
Again, I'm sure it'll be a very interesting and entertaining video.

Tom, it doesn't matter in the slightest when you upload. You were one of the first sparks I found on RUclips and I really enjoy your content. I also subscribe to Simone Gietz, who has a massive following but who only occasionally posts to RUclips. It makes watching your content a treat, rather than something that you do often.
The negative comments are unfounded, you run an excellent channel and as I said to my employee's you don't know diddly until you actually run a company. Keep up the good work.

Good on you, I’ve been full time self employed for 6 months now. My company has been up and running for 3 years. I’ve just taken on my first member of staff. She runs all my office work such as diary and all contact with customers. I just found I was unable to contact customers and work at the same time. And getting back to people in a timely manner is really difficult. It’s scary taking on staff and becoming bigger. Best of luck mate.
When We had 15 sparks on the books we had 2 office staff, being in business for over 25 years I can't see the need for 2 office staff for 3 workers, that is a lot of outgoings for your workforce but as long as you're making enough good luck dude

It's the easiest thing in the world to spend someone else's money, organic growth built on growing sales is the norm, negative cash flow is a killer. Feel sorry for the investor I wonder if he told him or her he has gone bust before.

You can earn good money in London relative to the rest of the country the further north you go the rates fall by the time you get to Scotland the day rate is £20 a Sheep and a sack of spuds.

I agree, don’t think they hate Tom, I think it was just from the start Tom never or wasn’t interested in interacting with the others etc, so inturn quite wrongly came over as aloof, I know what it takes to run a business and I take my hat off to him. The right choice was to ditch domestic shite and concentrate on commercial and industrial, you can’t grow big installing down lights and sockets for Mrs gibbons at no 23.
