Howdy! I designed a new "Calibrated Elbow" T-shirt please consider picking up a shirt to help support the channel. autoedits-store-2.creator-spring.com/ Any feedback is welcome!
Dude, I'm not even kidding... it's a good setup. When I threw a kit on the front of my Tahoe, it transformed that rig into legit modern braking. Can honestly recommend 👍
Did you put the rear rotors on backwards? By backwards I mean right on left and left on right? The fronts are correct but the quick video changes I couldn't tell if you had the direction correct on the rear.
Excellent spot. The rear rotors are identical so on one the slots face forward and the other rearward. I put them on according to the location stickers but either it was an error in packaging or just not a big deal to run one "backward". It doesn't seem to effect performance or make strange sounds so we'll see.
Have loved the channel for awhile, your video reminded me I still have a Bearmach HawkEye tool and addition dongle for doing expanded services that is unlocked for 11 to 13 range rover sports that I don't use. If you want it let me know, will send it out to you.
That probably will be needed at some point with this thing! Thanks so much for the offer. Maybe I could send you one of those calibrated elbow t-shirts I just added??? Take your pick and I'll get one ordered autoedits-store-2.creator-spring.com/ Let me know when you get a moment via email autoedits@gmail.com
Hey thanks for the question! I have been extremely happy with the air suspension on this thing so far as a city/highway vehicle. Shocked actually by how good it performs. It will be interesting to start going off road with it and see how it does. But I can say from a bit of an old school perspective of not liking air ride... this thing absolutely rules as is!
@@AutoEdits That’s interesting. I see a lot of comments saying they are very comfortable and in the same time a lot of people saying they are not « real » suspensions. That’s even better if you will do a bit of offroad with the Range Rover! I’m very curious about you thoughts on this. That may be the subject of a video? :)
When pushing the cyl's back in the calipers, it's better to push the old fluid out the bleed screw than push potentially contaminated fluid back up through the ABS/Traction Control system.
Do you have to do the stop and start breaking in period right away? I installed powerstop on my jku and haven't taken it for a ride as i have no where safe to easily do it since I live in the city. Can I drive like that for couple of miles first and where safely perform the breaking in?
@@AutoEdits It was tough but I think I broke them in. I also did a brake flush thanks to you. Honestly, I'd not dare doing any of this without your videos, I really appreciate your videos. They get me excited to drive my jeep and try to fix/install stuff. Having said that, my brakes feel soft now. They go all the way to the floor, and it didn't before. They still stop but feels weird that they are not as stiff as before. What could I have done wrong?
Unfortunately, what you are describing is a little air bubble in the system somewhere. The system needs to be bled again and there is a tricky bit if the bubble is in the ABS metering block. The two ways to address this is to get a tuner that has a feature that lets you manually activate the ABS pump to help purge air out of it and then you can bleed the brakes again but if you don't have that tuner tool... An improvised way to accomplish this is to find a dirt road or remote stretch of road and make a few quick braking passes that engage the anti-lock brakes system (you'll know when you press the brake pedal hard enough and feel the pulsing under your foot) Then go back home and do a good system bleed again. That should get your pedal back solid for you. Going to the floor is not good.
@@AutoEdits surprised because I went thru 5 bottles and barely any bubbles came out. After doing the brake-in instructions, I did couple of fast hard stops to check, the brakes, the Pedal went to the floor and abs didn't engage. I'll do another bottle to see if there is still any air. Appreciate your response.
It has inspired me to set that as a goal for later this year... might not be a 37" but 35" or so... we'll see. I'd like to get a few trips in the books before doing anything crazy.
The problem I have is trying to find a stretch of road to bed the pads in properly. There's just too many damn people moving to DFW and the roads are almost never free of traffic. There's always some random asshead or commerical vehicle that wilk f*ck it up for you lol.
Ah gotcha! many folks have mentioned that even with the notifications on for this channel they don't get notified. So I'm happy to hear it at least works for you! And thanks for the support!!!

All I got outta this episode is we are going to 37s!!!
I appreciate that... it certainly would be unique!
@@AutoEdits For sure! I love the PowerStop brakes I have on my Jeep GC!!
Man, you’re making me want to try Power Stop instead of OE for my next brake job.. 👍👍

I had to get new front pads and rotors. I should have got power stop parts from amazon..I paid way more for OEM.
OMG! I just replaced all the brake pads...on my bicycles! So glad that's done. Watching THIS video is the perfect dessert! Aloha!
HA! Howdy and happy stopping on your 2 wheel adventures!
The rover is coming along nicely👍🏻👍🏻. Sounds really really good 👊🏻. Awesome video as always!!
Thanks 👍
Your videos are so satisfying and meditative.👌
I appreciate hearing this very much, thank you!
Great video Jason💪
Thanks 👍
Great video Jason! I still need to do a brake upgrade on my JK. One of these days!
Go for it!
Fantastic upgrade, enjoyed the video.
Thanks! 👍
how many miles are on the range?
Just over 160,000
This is becoming a sick rig
It is a heck of a lot of fun!
Good video Jason. Time to upgrade your torque wrench lol new tool.
You got that right!

Hey! Good video🎉. What wheel hub and bearing did you use?
Hey thanks! I used the Mevotech unit bearing... www.amazon.com/shop/autoedits/list/1XF6P87AOM0Z9?ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d
Great video. What do you think about all the rage we see on the Internet on those air suspensions?
Hey thanks for the question! I have been extremely happy with the air suspension on this thing so far as a city/highway vehicle. Shocked actually by how good it performs. I just picked up a 2012 Tacoma with low miles and its brakes are horrible and I may go this route when i get around to it
I would highly recommend it. The Z36 Toyota kit we installed on my friends truck works great.
That Z36 package is the best! Put them on my JKU 2 years ago and never looked back.
i can confirm they are dust free. my wheels are always easy to clean because i never had dust from these pads.
Nice!
When pushing the cyl's back in the calipers, it's better to push the old fluid out the bleed screw than push potentially contaminated fluid back up through the ABS/Traction Control system.
That sounds like a good technique.
Next upgrade for me
You will be very happy for sure!
Upgraded my Gladiator's brakes to Z36 and they've been awesome.
Glad to hear it!
Would you recommend this break upgrade for a LR3 with a V8?
Absolutely! I really like the Z36 pads and run them on all of my vehicles.
👌
🤘

I explain in this video… you can drive someplace safe.

Hi where’s the Tahoe?
I sold it in December to trim down my overhead and then accidentally acquired the Range Rover in this video. oops.
Hay man, have you ever had to change your timing chain? I think mine is shot.
Not yet. I've watched the videos and it looks like a tough job.
@AutoEdits yeah it does. I don't think I'll be able to do it myself. If I can't, I may have to get another motor or just sell my jeep
I was extremely happy with the Jasper engine swap in my old Ram truck... could be a good option.
@AutoEdits thanks. I'll keep that in mind. I wouldn't mind putting on a diesel in it, but I'd have to change out a lot.
seen the rubber in the thumbnail and had to click

Large Marge?
Had to sell that project years ago. Unfortunate circumstances.

I think you should feature my name in your next video😂 (I'm almost always the first comment)
