So excited for your purge series! I’m very impressed by your plans to read all your book box books each month. I only get BOTM and I have so many that I haven’t even started yet!
One of my goals for next year is to actually read the books which come in the book boxes rather than them just collecting on my shelf which most of them are doing right now.
I also need to focus on reading my Owlcrate books the month I get them. That's most of my TBR is Owlcrate books. Also need to decide if I'm going keep Owlcrate, since I haven't kept up with reading the books.
Can't wait for the library building series. --- I have about 17 books I want to finish before the end of the year, and I probably won't be even close. I will reach my "reading goal" of 40 because of manga (I have 2 volumes waiting to be picked up at a bookstore and one that I ordered for the beginning of December). There are a bunch of books on the list that I've already started, but I also glued in some that I haven't, and I'm mostly stressing about that (I have a book journal and I enjoy adding books in there, but I don't read enough, so I just glue stuff for future and then get anxious that I'm not finishing them xd) I definitely want to finish - the 2nd book of Elric of Melnibone series (started it in Spring); - "The Moon is a harsh mistress" - also started reading it in Spring - the Godkiller I'm also soft- DNF-ing two books, because I just don't feel like finishing them yet, but I like them enough to give them a try in the future --- No specific plans for the next year next. I just want to read about 40 during the whole year.
I want to read Empire of the Damned next month because I read the first book a few weeks ago and I want to have the story still somewhat fresh in my mind so I am not hurting my brain trying to remember what happened in the first book to understand any references in book 2. I bought Spectacular but I haven't read any of the other books 😶🌫. I assume I will need to real Caraval and the others first? I just wanted the special editions before they sold out and were scalped online for $100+. I got the B&N one and Owlcrates. Because, you know, you have to have more than one copy of the same book. 😏 I want to try and NOT get any new ARC's until next year and try to get through any unfinished series I started and or read finished series that are on my TBR like the Belladonna series that I have not started yet for December or at least early next year. I have a TON of audiobooks I downloaded and still need to get through. Especially freebees on audible for Jennifer Armentrout. When I saw them free to download I grabbed all that were available. I just have way too many books I need to get to and not enough time to do it. I will need to purge some but that will happen some time next year. Books I got from book boxes that I am just not interested in reading and aren't too pretty for me to let go of 😂 As for When The Moon Hatched. I LOVED that book, but you may not feel the same way. You mentioned that you weren't really into Epic/High Fantasy that much and it is very much that. She built a world with unfamiliar things but she is very descriptive in her writing. What I loved about it was I felt like I was there as I was reading it. I could imagine all the senses of the world she made and I really enjoy that experience in books. It's not for everyone which is why I believe it had mixed reviews. It's not an easy ACOTAR with hot bat boys just slaying everything. I also would not compare it to Fourth Wing. With that said, I will not be surprised if you don't rave about it since you are not a fan of those types of books. You might be bored? We will see. You never know, you may really like it too. I am curious regardless the outcome. I am not sure what book would be my favorite of the year. Like you, I cannot think of a book I am waiting to drop in December. The Last One by Rachel Howzell Hall looks good but when I get it I will most likely not read it in Dec. I was waiting for Rebel Witch and will read that next month. I finished The Wren in the Holly Library the other day. Really enjoyed it. It seems I am unintentionally gravitating toward books with Celtic lore recently. Not sure if it's just a thing that is popping off now and that is why? It's the second or third book I recently read that had ties to Ireland and Celtic folklore. Not complaining, I love that stuff.
If you don't end up getting to EotD, he put a huge recap at the beginning of EotD about EotV that made it super easy to catch back up with. You will definitely need to read Caraval through Finale since it's all about them after the series. And it will kind of ruin stuff that happens. So there's a bit of a difference in my brain between world-building fantasy and high fantasy. When I think of High Fantasy, I'm thinking of LoTR and the Shanara Chronicles. Those types of books. I absolutely adore world building so that sounds good to me. So hopefully I end up loving it
@@kimberlyreads I hope you like When the Moon Hatched. It was one of my 5 star reads this year. I don't think I had many of those. Also, since I typically listen to audiobooks it helps me get immersed in the world so that might have a big part in it. Unless the narrators are horrible 😂 I know you are not a fan of Stephen King but his narrator of choice is not someone I like to listen to. I read most of his books before I switched over to audiobooks so I haven't read many of his newer books because of that.
I loved the Jarsad Heir!
i'm keen for the build a library series!!
Ooh that Spectacular book is so pretty! I think I may need to buy that book, I didn't even know about it.
Super excited for the upcoming reading blogs!! I really need to purge and read book boxes books too
Hopefully they'll be a motivator for everyone else who needs to read their books!

I totally forgot about my BOTM books... I'll need to purge those too 😅

Yes! Hopefully we can both do that next year

17 books is so many books to read by the end of the year 😆 Definitely good luck to you

How do you read more than one book at a time? Happy Thanksgiving!
Lol my brain just likes to focus on multiple things and I used to HAVE to alternate books or I'd get bored.
