Just like how Breaking Bad is about how Walt becomes Heisenberg, Better Call Saul is about how Jimmy becomes Saul. In it his character, while it still feels like the same person, is portrayed in more dramatic circumstances. So yeah, it's a prequel, although toward the end it starts to blend a little bit with Breaking Bad.......but those elements are more like a nod to the original show and don't show up that often. In many ways both shows are better than the other for different reasons, but if you like Breaking Bad, you'll LOVE Better Call Saul. Same kinda' stuff but taking place in different worlds, not as much violence, but just as colorful and well written as Breaking Bad. TOTALLY worth watching.
To be fair Jesse never knew he needed permission to cook Walts formula since they cooked as a team he thought if Walt isn't going to cook anymore why can't he at least cook it and make money
It's funny because in real life Aaron Paul was raised Baptist and never cursed bit when he moved out and went to Hollywood they stuck him in rolls that he had to curse and this one he had to say a lot of B words lol and he says it so well lol i think he likes saying it lol
Definitely recommend Better Call Saul after watching this series, much like watching the Marvel universe in order. Watch them as the directors intended. But I also recommend Ozark, another great series
Better Call Saul is a little bit of both prequel and sequel. Looking forward to seeing you get to it eventually. You'll find it hard to believe once you've finished this series, but there's an argument to be made that it may actually be better than Breaking Bad. But that's just an opinion. Both series are absolutely amazing.
There's no way it's better than breaking bad. BB is a perfect show, BCS is highly flawed and also has a terrible ending. Also, part of the reason why BB worked so well was the ambiguity of different characters back stories. We didn't know much about characters like tuco, mike, Gus, Saul, hector etc. they were Mysterious characters who we imagined to have interesting backgrounds. Once we actually saw their backgrounds on BCS however, they were so much less interesting than I had imagined. BCS is literally just a spin off for fans of the show to see Easter eggs before they happen. BB is one of the greatest shows in tv history. There is no comparison.
BCS is to be watched after breaking bad... While most of it is prequel, it does continue beyond the BB timeline. Loved both BB and BCS. El Camino is a film set after BB following one character post BB finale. I felt fairly neutral about that one tbh. Watch order is best done with release order. BB, EC, BCS.
Totally agree! BCS is even better than Breaking Bad, and that’s not to take anything away from BB. BCS is just more meaty in terms of character development and relationships between characters - an even deeper, more talented bench of supporting actors, incredible performances, twists and turns, incredible writing, some incredible comedy and music and more from some of your favorite BB characters and actors. It’s amazing. Gilligan and Co. came out swinging with BB, and it’s a legendary show for sure, but they really upped their game with BCS. And I thought the ending was perfect. I can see how some people might not have loved it, but it’s more like real life to not have everything tied up perfectly. BCS is not a bedtime story. I thought the ending was true to the depth and style of the series.
Marie mentioning on the phone about how being close to death must change a person is what altered Skyler's perception of Walt and his actions. She realized that it wasn't from a completely selfish place.
Better Call Saul is a prequel and is a fantastic look at "Saul and what he did before that. Also your mention of Malcolm in the Middle is funny. There a bunch of fans that consider Malcolm in the Middle a squeal to this, it's just Walter White in the witness protection program. LOL
Hank is doing what any investigator does, find the bread crumbs that people leave behind in their lives. Its VERY difficult to live your life and leave no trail behind. Hence he now can connect Combo to Jesse Pinkman.
So after Breaking Bad you have the Gran Torino movie. IT resolves the story line of exactly ONE character after the final episode of Breaking Bad. Better call Saul is a Bookend series. It is primarily a prequel to Breaking Bad Providing the origin story to 3-4 major supporting characters from Breaking Bad , filling in a big part of the back history to a dozen level three characters and (using a very distinct filming process) wrapping up the story of one character in a setting AFTER the finale to breaking bad. There are also in BCS cameos of certain characters from Breaking Bad
@puncho8799 I get that, but it really isn't our place or business. Sometimes all you can do for someone is pray. Send them good thoughts and hope that things work out right in the end. If something is meant to be it will be. If they decide to open up about it that's their decision to make. I don't need to know every detail to wish them both well.
Better Call Saul is mostly a prequel to Breaking Bad, however the story line ends after the BB storyline, and it should be watched after you finish BB. Also, there is a movie called El Camino, which continues Jesse Pinkmans story after the Breaking Bad storyline ends.
I'm really enjoying watching your reaction to this show. I watched the show when it first came out and had to wait a week in between episodes. This show has to be on the "Mt. Rushmore" of all time great tv shows. As others have stated, you need to do a reaction to "Better Call Saul" after you complete this one.
Hey sis, Hope this finds u well. We're dealing with major ice and snow storm here in Ky. Lets see what shenanigans the fellas r getting into, lol. Thanx so much, always sending love and support, Peace
Ice storms are the worst. Hope you’re staying warm and rested. We have only received a light dusting of snow. To Oklahoma kids though this is “Snow!”. Very cold. Gonna buckle down with a good book tonight.
@@AmberReacts24 Def all set for the storm home health set me up. We have about 1" of ice and about 6" of snow and still coming down hard. Its about 14 degrees. U stay warm also and enjoy that book.
Hi Amber, how are you? I'm one of the new writers on your channel, I moved here from Rob Squad because I really appreciate your reactions, which I consider sincere, while still liking Jay's work, I wish you success I'm from Brazil 👍🏽👍🏽
Better call Saul is prequel and sequel. It is definitely before Breaking Bad happened. But before you watch better call Saul as I said watch the movie that Vince Gilligan produced called El Camino, it is a movie not a series. In chronological order as I said it is Breaking Bad, the movie El Camino, and the series better call Saul which is amazing I think better than Breaking Bad. I think the characters are more thought-provoking and little by little the Breaking Bad characters are brought into better call Saul a little at a time, it is truly a masterpiece series.
Amber did you know that Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead are connected. You should watch the Walking Dead if you haven’t yet.
Not actually a connected universe. BB only shares an official connected universe with Better Call Saul and El Camino. The series are AMC so there are BB Easter eggs in TWD&FTWD. All the walking dead shows have gone very downhill in recent years. First few seasons of TWD were good. It's not worth subjecting yourself to the entirety of these series, just for flimsy little Easter eggs. Only watch them if you are willing to watch one million episodes of zombie crap with only a few good seasons 😂
Will truly miss RobSquadReactions!!! First reaction channel I subscribed to!!😪😪😪😪 AND YOU'RE BOTH YOUNG...TIME TO HEAL, HOPEFULLY GET BACK TOGETHER, ❤❤🙏
Hi Amber. Not sure what's going in your relationship. Something I noticed, you seem even more beautiful. I am giving my honest opinion. I knew something was different. What ever is happening, I wish the best for everybody.
Amber, notice that Walt is always wearing green shirts. You know what the color of money is, right? And for this episode you're wearing green. Coincidence? Hmm...
Great reaction, Amber. BETTER CALL SAUL is both a sequel and a prequel. You can watch them in either order, but I suggest watching it after you finish this.

Beautiful Amber! The series filmed in my home town Albuquerque NM. Been to many of their locations.
11:02 the moment where Walt becomes like a kid in a candy store.
They nailed it with the background track too - it's so whimsical.

El Camino. Gran Torino is a Clint Eastwood film.
It's El Camino movie
Wrong car lol
We should all take a moment for the real victim in breaking bad,…….. Walt’s windshield.
Better Caul Saul shows how Saul reaches this point. Towards the end of Better Call Saul it ties into Breaking Bad.
Praying for Y'all.
We want to know what happened 🤷🏽♂️

19:20 It's both. But mostly a PREQUEL
The first scene the (Salamanca) twins did with 'Walt', one of them said "Hey, it's Hal from Malcom in the Middle!" 😂
It's pronounced "POYOS". Two L's in a row is pronounced like a Y in spanish. 🐔
Dang it! I probably wind up pronouncing it wrong all season. These were all recorded a few weeks back. So all season I may sound silly!
@@AmberReacts24 It's like "tortilla", though some southerners say tortilla literally XD
I said this like 5 episodes ago lol
When I was a young man in New Mexico, about 30 years ago I hit up that strip joint a couple of times.

Christopher Cousins, who plays Ted Beneke, is in a slasher movie you might want to watch for the channel. It's called Hell High.
20:51 they literally got my guy Saul in some batman villain colors for this scene what the hell is that suit
Walt wouldn’t have been that viscous if he wasn’t so mad about his recipe being used. His ego and identity is wrapped up in it.
HOPE ALL IS GOING WELL❤❤❤❤❤
Great to see the show

There is a great Vietnamese restaurant to the right of Saul's office. Wife and I eat there often.
Wish ALL men thought like Gus!!!
Stold the RV!!!
Good show good reaction
A new show you should check on next is The Crowded Room by Tom Holland it’s one of the best shows that’s played by him and very sad
