As a grown man, I have some of my most fun on pit bikes, that's why I looked into the sur ron. I always looked at this bike as an "electric pit bike" because of the size, but after riding it it just didn't have enough of a dirt bike feel for me. I'd recommend a kx100 (now kx112) or a yz80 to someone in place of this to someone who wants a starter dirt bike. But if you want something you can ride to the store or school or work and hit some trails on the way this thing's perfect. Because good luck taking a 2 stroke downtown lmao
I have a 2020 surron. Stock the bike is a blast. UPGRADED CONTROLLER AND BATTERY and wow. This thing more then twice as fast and a real blast. One nice thing about electric besides the main fact that it is quiet so you can pull it out at midnight is that with the aftermarket controller you can set up 18 or so power levels. One bike that is great for everyone.
Hey C.C. Great job getting a new video out so quickly. That shows that you actually use the stuff you get and that you care about your viewers! I hear your issues on the Surron but let me make a couple of comments. The battery cover is designed that way on purpose the latch is held under tension to keep it from popping open. The price increase is actually understandable because this bike originally sold as the Surron Light Bee and that had an even worse suspension and a cheap controller and analog throttle. The Surron X controller is much impproved the new fly by wire throttle and eventhough the suspension is still a budget suspension it is much improved. All of those improvements come at a cost. I will say this at your size and weight (not saying that you are fat in any way) but compared to me at 5'7" and 145lbs soaking wet, the suspension will be an issue for you under heavy technical riding. If you really start pounding jumps then you will brake the pegs. As for lights, remember, the Surron is a hybrid dirtbike/mountain bike so go to REI or your local bike shop and buy a set of really good MTB Lights and mount them on the handlebar or forks works out real well and since those lights have their own battery it does not drain the Surron battery. My opinion is that the Surron is exactly what the eDirtbike market has been missing. It has a lot of fun for the dollar but to come in at that price point compromises had to be made. The green wire cut is for legal purposes and the segway gets around this with a legal disclaimer in the app but for a LOT more money.
Thanks for sharing your insight. You really can't get any better for the money. It's a good value. If you look at the much slower e-bikes command even more money than this Sur Ron. I really enjoy this Sur Ron X off-road.
Bro, I don't think it's a good idea to ask that bike to do anymore than 50mph. It's just one of those things that you have to appreciate for what it's designed for. Do you really want to gear up in your airbag vest to ride a mountain bike on the street at 80mph? You need the weight of a real bike to wanna go out overtaking cars. Isn't that why you built your supermoto in the first place? It's a cool toy to zip around with on a whim. Just enjoy the damn thing for what it is. A speed upgrade on that thing is asking for trouble.
I agree, reason I have not modded it. Its great for what it is. The bad problem I have it is squidding on it though. lol My supermoto has all the power I need, no need to spend 3k to mod the Sur Ron.

My opinion, I don’t think it’s worth it to upgrade to more power, keep it for guests & maybe get a legit electric dirt bike? Or get a dirt bike & keep stock exhaust on to keep it quiet, still a cool bike!
My mate has one, good fun to ride. But he has had an issue where the power keeps cutting out???? Turns on and off a couple of times then it works again? ??? Only 200km on it...... i like it but the price? Im not sure
Good stuff. Much more thorough. I think a lot of the electric "dirtbikes" are having issues keeping the battery stationary (a few were popping out of their casing with all of the jumping and movement that comes with the offroading), that may be the reason it is more difficult to pull the battery in out and opening up the box itself. Other than that it seems you are happy with the purchase. Well done sir.
The battery is snug which is good. You can charge the battery while it's in the bike so no big deal. None of these cons were a deal breaker for me and shouldn't be for most people. This bike is a hoot to ride, instant smiles!

I’m 6’2 and never have dirt bikes but want something faster than most e bikes but that I can also take downhill on trails like a mountain bike. Would this work for me you think?
I want to learn how to ride but it seems like it's soo much to riding a bike. You gotta worry about the front brakes the clutch the back brakes leaning right just right leaning left just right lol. He said you have to get over your fear, and I'm like FOOL I never leared how to ride ride (ok maybe 1 good time in my college days this girl taught me, but that was over 20yrs ago). Sounds like you're overthinking it a bit. It's something you just hop on and feel out, baby steps. Don't worry about the details so much it's easy to get caught up in the anxiety brainstorming scenarios but it will come naturally as you jump on and mesh things out. Just practice feeling the controls at first clutch and brake points then smooth acceleration
Have the surron black edition for over year. I paid 3600.00 wich was good price then. Bike is now priced whithin the course of inflation that is to be expected. I have had to upgrade suspension front and rear ,both failed from hard jumping. The Talaria sting is how these bikes should be sold. Wish they were available sooner. The specs, the price, upgraded .
Can’t beat the price value and upgrades like bigger sprocket fir more torque. Plus you can ride it on the streets depending on your state so it’s very versatile.
CC money bags, go ahead and upgrade everything: battery, controller, wheels, pegs, bars, light, brakes, Marzochi fork, EXT shock. Upgrades and farkles are half the fun of owning bikes.
I like that bike. I’m thinking the charger is like that because of fast charging, to keep it from overheating. What kind of range or “mileage” you get on full sport mode?
I get between 30 & 40 miles, but I pin the throttle regularly. You can get 45 miles or more if you're gentle and there aren't too many hills. If you do lots of high-throttle off-road expect more like 25 to 30.

Glad you love it. I would assume most people would probably charge the battery in the garage so they wouldn't even hear it. When you build that barn you can charge it over there away from the house and it won't bother you at all.
Got mine yesterday. It's sick. Already made new friends around the neighborhood. Lol I did change the tires. Shinko 244 Series 2.75/19 front and back. Not easy but doable.
It looked like u were turning the key the wrong way lol it’s not that hard to turn the key and open the top and your having trouble taking the battery in and out because your bars are to the side and Idek how you could possibly keep hitting your sport mode switch while riding
The sur ron x looks cool , the only thing is is that i wish it had a higher top speed around 65 to 70 mph out the box just cause im pretty sure there's a bunch of speed junkies like me , i seen some vids with high speed runs at 55 to 60 mph with the 72v battery upgrade and most of the vids showed it only lasted about an hour or less on a track , i wish the battery on a full charge would last longer than that for people that like to ride fast even if it's just a few short speed burst that people would do just to get a rush
4200 will buy you a middle spec'd analog bike. Look how much an e-mtb from a real bike company like Specialized or Santa Cruz costs. Even a nicely spec'd model from a direct to consumer brand like Commencal goes for around 7,000. In a way, Surron does a good job of meeting a price point by using generic mtb components.
@@CP-qx2ffSomeone on here said to just get the KTM E-XC, so I went to research that. While I was doing that research they must have retracted their statement because it is gone! In my (very quick) research i think I know why. The KTM looks more like a regular dirt bike, suspension looks more premium but it looks like they missed the mark with the motor. It has a claimed 42 NM of torque which equates to about 30 ft lbs. The Sur ron (actually the Segway) has a claimed torque of 184.3 ft lbs of torque with a top speed of 42 mph. SO this is a little stealthy hot rod, that if the claims are true, at least in a straight line will run circles around the KTM. It's not in the same class at all. I am sure that Sur ron suspension is what will limit you off road and put the KTM on a more equal if not superior footing but that's not what you got this bike to do. This is a stealthy hooligan machine. Nothing on this bike says what it is or gives you a suggestion of what it does. It's not boasting, no glaring graphics or bright colors, it's just quietly delivering the goods. And by the way its selling it looks like they hit the sweet spot. Well done CC!

I think these are overpriced for what it is and where it comes from, also they consider these the same as a moped because they don't have pedals but they don't even have a vin # or title so good luck going through whatever to register it
Imagine getting this over a grom, makes little sense to me unless you have some certain situation where you want electric. Not to mention trying to get parts for a chinese bike, good luck! Thats why i wouldnt get a lifan or benelli (italian made?) over a grom. Initial purchase price isnt everything, if you get a good deal on a bike you can't find parts for its not a good deal. Not to mention im sure its not as easy to sell a chinese bike.

I think the charger is actually pretty solid. It's loud because it's moving a lot of air. You can R&R a fan by removing the mylar label and then dropping a little light oil on the bearing there. I've done this many times rather than buy a replacement. If that don't work, fans are cheap.
Battery Cover removal? I've never had a problem. Battery Connector hard to remove? Why are you doing that? Battery not easy to remove? That's on purpose so it doesn't come flying out if you dump the bike. EP vs Sport mode switch? I hear ya on that one. Cheap fenders? The back is okay. The front is garbage. 47 MPH? That might be optimistic. I can't get any more than 45 MPH unless I'm going downhill. Bouncy suspension? "Rebound Damper." Also setup your sag. Stock setup is for the lightest rider possible. The best mod you can do is NEW TIRES. Just wait until you try some technical single-track where the price for wandering 6 inches to the left is DEATH from going down a 150' cliff. I don't think those stock tires are so good then. Price? Yeah, it's expensive. Too expensive. I might be too poor. You put your charger in your laundry room? YOU HAVE 20 ACRES you can use for your charger! Good for the whole family? I couldn't get my whole family on the bike @ once like they do overseas. Where in the south you at? I've got some property down there too!
I see the negative comments. A gas bike weighs over 200 - 300 lbs this weighs 130 pounds. Get what fits your style. This machine is a great value for what it is. I want electric, light weight, quiet for trail riding. Exactly what I need. Older now, sold my KLX and getting a Talaria Sting. It is an upgraded version of the Surron.
Got my 2022 Sur-Ron and did some upgrades yesterday. Idk how tall you are, and your weight.. but im 6'2 and 96 kg, upgraded to 64T rear sprocket and a 75mm riser bar and it made a huge improvement. i thought the stock Sur-Ron was a "Mehhh waste" but now its a totally new rocket. top speed is not the best, about 50-55kmh but its all worth it. not the same bike at all. I bought all my parts from STAG motorcycles.
You’re asking way to much of this groundbreaking technology. The tech is just starting and it’s phenomenal that it can do what it does and more ..but I definitely understand your gripes. When I first got a laptop, it cost more than your bike; phones now are faster, more memory and capable for 1/10 the price of that computer.
In the early days of the motorcycle circa 1900-'06, many thought that anything over 100-110 pounds total weight to be excessive. Maybe they were onto something.
Question- how many kw/NM per minute does it flow when charging compared to consumption when in use in regular power mode and/or slow mode? Of course in direct proportion to KW/hours? I believe certain amperages and voltage regulators will have one effect or another on over all performance of both the charging cycle and the drainage rate while in service regardless of Terra surface, barometric pressure, as well as humidity, all of which are important factors that bare an influence on the performance characteristics of all of the aforementioned dynamics. As a grown man, I have some of my most fun on pit bikes, that's why I looked into the sur ron. I always looked at this bike as an "electric pit bike" because of the size, but after riding it it just didn't have enough of a dirt bike feel for me. I'd recommend a kx100 (now kx112) or a yz80 to someone in place of this to someone who wants a starter dirt bike. But if you want something you can ride to the store or school or work and hit some trails on the way this thing's perfect. Because good luck taking a 2 stroke downtown lmao

I have a 2020 surron. Stock the bike is a blast. UPGRADED CONTROLLER AND BATTERY and wow. This thing more then twice as fast and a real blast.
One nice thing about electric besides the main fact that it is quiet so you can pull it out at midnight is that with the aftermarket controller you can set up 18 or so power levels. One bike that is great for everyone.
Hey C.C. Great job getting a new video out so quickly. That shows that you actually use the stuff you get and that you care about your viewers! I hear your issues on the Surron but let me make a couple of comments. The battery cover is designed that way on purpose the latch is held under tension to keep it from popping open. The price increase is actually understandable because this bike originally sold as the Surron Light Bee and that had an even worse suspension and a cheap controller and analog throttle. The Surron X controller is much impproved the new fly by wire throttle and eventhough the suspension is still a budget suspension it is much improved. All of those improvements come at a cost. I will say this at your size and weight (not saying that you are fat in any way) but compared to me at 5'7" and 145lbs soaking wet, the suspension will be an issue for you under heavy technical riding. If you really start pounding jumps then you will brake the pegs. As for lights, remember, the Surron is a hybrid dirtbike/mountain bike so go to REI or your local bike shop and buy a set of really good MTB Lights and mount them on the handlebar or forks works out real well and since those lights have their own battery it does not drain the Surron battery. My opinion is that the Surron is exactly what the eDirtbike market has been missing. It has a lot of fun for the dollar but to come in at that price point compromises had to be made. The green wire cut is for legal purposes and the segway gets around this with a legal disclaimer in the app but for a LOT more money.
Thanks for sharing your insight. You really can't get any better for the money. It's a good value. If you look at the much slower e-bikes command even more money than this Sur Ron. I really enjoy this Sur Ron X off-road.

Bro, I don't think it's a good idea to ask that bike to do anymore than 50mph. It's just one of those things that you have to appreciate for what it's designed for. Do you really want to gear up in your airbag vest to ride a mountain bike on the street at 80mph? You need the weight of a real bike to wanna go out overtaking cars. Isn't that why you built your supermoto in the first place? It's a cool toy to zip around with on a whim. Just enjoy the damn thing for what it is. A speed upgrade on that thing is asking for trouble.

My opinion, I don’t think it’s worth it to upgrade to more power, keep it for guests & maybe get a legit electric dirt bike? Or get a dirt bike & keep stock exhaust on to keep it quiet, still a cool bike!
Idk man, if it's really needed to add new module, better battery, shocks, bigger front wheel, etc. Isn't just better of buying the KTM FREERIDE E-XC??

My mate has one, good fun to ride. But he has had an issue where the power keeps cutting out???? Turns on and off a couple of times then it works again? ??? Only 200km on it...... i like it but the price? Im not sure

Good stuff. Much more thorough. I think a lot of the electric "dirtbikes" are having issues keeping the battery stationary (a few were popping out of their casing with all of the jumping and movement that comes with the offroading), that may be the reason it is more difficult to pull the battery in out and opening up the box itself. Other than that it seems you are happy with the purchase. Well done sir.
The battery is snug which is good. You can charge the battery while it's in the bike so no big deal. None of these cons were a deal breaker for me and shouldn't be for most people. This bike is a hoot to ride, instant smiles!

I’m 6’2 and never have dirt bikes but want something faster than most e bikes but that I can also take downhill on trails like a mountain bike. Would this work for me you think?
i think it would its a fun bike the only down side i think is the price and that all parts are sold out. Its also fun to mess around in town.
For that kind of money invest in a good motorcycle or take the money and invest in a stealth van money well spent 😎👍
I want to learn how to ride but it seems like it's soo much to riding a bike. You gotta worry about the front brakes the clutch the back brakes leaning right just right leaning left just right lol. Not too much pressure here not too much pressure there. Omg! 😭🏃💨 Not to mention my husband put me on his V-rod Harley one morning in a surprise to me and gave me my first lesson (1st lesson with him 2nd lesson in life and I'm now 45). I was scared as shiii like you're not afraid I'm going to drop your bike?? He running beside me 🏃💨 😭 but thank God I didn't fall. He said you have to get over your fear, and I'm like FOOL I never leared how to ride ride (ok maybe 1 good time in my college days this girl taught me, but that was over 20yrs ago). You crazy, and I am too for getting on. 😂
Sounds like you're overthinking it a bit. It's something you just hop on and feel out, baby steps. Don't worry about the details so much it's easy to get caught up in the anxiety brainstorming scenarios but it will come naturally as you jump on and mesh things out. Just practice feeling the controls at first clutch and brake points then smooth acceleration
Where did you purchase your Sur Ron X from ?
Have the surron black edition for over year. I paid 3600.00 wich was good price then. Bike is now priced whithin the course of inflation that is to be expected. I have had to upgrade suspension front and rear ,both failed from hard jumping. The Talaria sting is how these bikes should be sold. Wish they were available sooner. The specs, the price, upgraded .
I don't get it. What's the difference between the Talaria Sting and a Sur-ron Light Bee X? It appears to be the same.
Can’t beat the price value and upgrades like bigger sprocket fir more torque. Plus you can ride it on the streets depending on your state so it’s very versatile.
I just ordered one of these bad boys and it’s even more expensive. But this video actually made me more hyped.

CC money bags, go ahead and upgrade everything: battery, controller, wheels, pegs, bars, light, brakes, Marzochi fork, EXT shock. Upgrades and farkles are half the fun of owning bikes.
I like that bike. I’m thinking the charger is like that because of fast charging, to keep it from overheating. What kind of range or “mileage” you get on full sport mode?
I get between 30 & 40 miles, but I pin the throttle regularly. You can get 45 miles or more if you're gentle and there aren't too many hills. If you do lots of high-throttle off-road expect more like 25 to 30.

Personally for me, the main thing is it’s silent so riding illegal is easier. I’m looking for an e bike to ride on mountain trails so if I get a real dirt bike that won’t be possible for long

Glad you love it. I would assume most people would probably charge the battery in the garage so they wouldn't even hear it. When you build that barn you can charge it over there away from the house and it won't bother you at all.

It looked like u were turning the key the wrong way lol it’s not that hard to turn the key and open the top and your having trouble taking the battery in and out because your bars are to the side and Idek how you could possibly keep hitting your sport mode switch while riding

your forks are KKE and i bet you need to check the psi in them as mine only came with 50 psi...i put 150 psi in them and there so much better..
The sur ron x looks cool , the only thing is is that i wish it had a higher top speed around 65 to 70 mph out the box just cause im pretty sure there's a bunch of speed junkies like me , i seen some vids with high speed runs at 55 to 60 mph with the 72v battery upgrade and most of the vids showed it only lasted about an hour or less on a track , i wish the battery on a full charge would last longer than that for people that like to ride fast even if it's just a few short speed burst that people would do just to get a rush

4200 for an electric mountain bike? We might now like it but at least you are having fun with it.
4200 will buy you a middle spec'd analog bike. Look how much an e-mtb from a real bike company like Specialized or Santa Cruz costs. Even a nicely spec'd model from a direct to consumer brand like Commencal goes for around 7,000. In a way, Surron does a good job of meeting a price point by using generic mtb components.
@@CP-qx2ffSomeone on here said to just get the KTM E-XC, so I went to research that. While I was doing that research they must have retracted their statement because it is gone! In my (very quick) research i think I know why. The KTM looks more like a regular dirt bike, suspension looks more premium but it looks like they missed the mark with the motor. It has a claimed 42 NM of torque which equates to about 30 ft lbs. The Sur ron (actually the Segway) has a claimed torque of 184.3 ft lbs of torque with a top speed of 42 mph. SO this is a little stealthy hot rod, that if the claims are true, at least in a straight line will run circles around the KTM. It's not in the same class at all. I am sure that Sur ron suspension is what will limit you off road and put the KTM on a more equal if not superior footing but that's not what you got this bike to do. This is a stealthy hooligan machine. Nothing on this bike says what it is or gives you a suggestion of what it does. It's not boasting, no glaring graphics or bright colors, it's just quietly delivering the goods. And by the way its selling it looks like they hit the sweet spot. Well done CC!

I think these are overpriced for what it is and where it comes from, also they consider these the same as a moped because they don't have pedals but they don't even have a vin # or title so good luck going through whatever to register it

Imagine getting this over a grom, makes little sense to me unless you have some certain situation where you want electric. Not to mention trying to get parts for a chinese bike, good luck! Thats why i wouldnt get a lifan or benelli (italian made?) over a grom. Initial purchase price isnt everything, if you get a good deal on a bike you can't find parts for its not a good deal. Not to mention im sure its not as easy to sell a chinese bike.

The fan bearings sound cheap, with a lot of friction. I’m expecting that fan to fall not too long after the warranty period.
I think the charger is actually pretty solid. It's loud because it's moving a lot of air. You can R&R a fan by removing the mylar label and then dropping a little light oil on the bearing there. I've done this many times rather than buy a replacement. If that don't work, fans are cheap.
Extender fender is in stock on Amazon $40.
that thing is pricey, I only paid $4,500 for my 2008 CBR1000RR with 28,000 miles.
I only paid 3k for my 2014 ninja 300 4 years ago 5700 miles. Still have it and can't wait till it gets warm.

Battery Cover removal? I've never had a problem. Battery Connector hard to remove? Why are you doing that? Battery not easy to remove? That's on purpose so it doesn't come flying out if you dump the bike. EP vs Sport mode switch? I hear ya on that one. Cheap fenders? The back is okay. The front is garbage. 47 MPH? That might be optimistic. I can't get any more than 45 MPH unless I'm going downhill. Bouncy suspension? "Rebound Damper." Also setup your sag. Stock setup is for the lightest rider possible. The best mod you can do is NEW TIRES. Just wait until you try some technical single-track where the price for wandering 6 inches to the left is DEATH from going down a 150' cliff. I don't think those stock tires are so good then. Price? Yeah, it's expensive. Too expensive. I might be too poor. You put your charger in your laundry room? YOU HAVE 20 ACRES you can use for your charger! Good for the whole family? I couldn't get my whole family on the bike @ once like they do overseas. Where in the south you at? I've got some property down there too!

I see the negative comments. A gas bike weighs over 200 - 300 lbs this weighs 130 pounds. Get what fits your style. This machine is a great value for what it is. I want electric, light weight, quiet for trail riding. Exactly what I need. Older now, sold my KLX and getting a Talaria Sting. It is an upgraded version of the Surron.

Got my 2022 Sur-Ron and did some upgrades yesterday.
Idk how tall you are, and your weight.. but im 6'2 and 96 kg, upgraded to 64T rear sprocket and a 75mm riser bar and it made a huge improvement. i thought the stock Sur-Ron was a "Mehhh waste" but now its a totally new rocket. top speed is not the best, about 50-55kmh but its all worth it. not the same bike at all. I bought all my parts from STAG motorcycles.
You’re asking way to much of this groundbreaking technology. The tech is just starting and it’s phenomenal that it can do what it does and more ..but I definitely understand your gripes. When I first got a laptop, it cost more than your bike; phones now are faster, more memory and capable for 1/10 the price of that computer.

In the early days of the motorcycle circa 1900-'06, many thought that anything over 100-110 pounds total weight to be excessive. Maybe they were onto something.
Question- how many kw/NM per minute does it flow when charging compared to consumption when in use in regular power mode and/or slow mode? Of course in direct proportion to KW/hours? I believe certain amperages and voltage regulators will have one effect or another on over all performance of both the charging cycle and the drainage rate while in service regardless of Terra surface, barometric pressure, as well as humidity, all of which are important factors that bare an influence on the performance characteristics of all of the aforementioned dynamics. You follow me, right? Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and will be dually noted and analyzed to it's fullest extent. Thank you very much Mr. Cy-cool kr-ooozer. 😁
