- I researched the best pedal kit for the Sur Ron / Segway x260 & x160, the Kaniwaba 2.0. I show you how to install the Kaniwaba Pedal Kit on your Sur Ron X and/or Segway X260 electric dirt bike, on today’s episode of Mod Monday.
In Delaware the law states an e-bike has to have a pedal installed to be classified as an e-bike, that’s why I installed this kit.

No I haven’t switched out to the assist kit I don’t really think I plan on doing it….. it really looks like they’re going to start cracking down and making us register these bikes…. That’s why I’m just keeping the fake pedals on there
What part of California are you from? I’m pretty sure they’ve already banned Sur Ron’s in San Clemente and Dana point I think

@@SHREDDIEMCSKATE I live close to San Clemente and Dana. Afaik, cops are now being issued to impound any surron riding within these cities. Maybe San Juan Capistrano as well but from what I've been told, Dana and SC are the most strict while SJC tends to be a bit more chill. It worries me a bit since I plan to move in with a friend within the edge of Dana Point and my only daily commuter for work is my surron. What I may do is add a pedal kit with chain plus the kaniwaba bicycle seat post. It will make the bike ugly, but it's worth satisfying the cops and not getting pulled over.

Hey Shreddie, I have another question for you. Have you heard about Pegels? They are pedals that can turn onto pegs. I've seen just a couple of videos about this.

Great video. Which model of Kaniwaba is this? I see they have a few options.
FYI: Longer socket wrench will give you more torque making it easier to get the bolts off, and a cheap spring expander will make putting the spring on and off a lot easier.
This is just the cheapest option they have without the ability to really pedal it… I appreciate those tips to bro I’ll be picking up a spring expander today

Hey Shreddie, with this pedal kit what is your top speed? Are you still limited to under 30 M.P.H.?
This pedal kit has nothing attached to it besides a straight bar it’s only for looks
Torque spec for the foot peg bracket is 40-45nm not 25 however with the amount of thread lock you used those bolts are stuck forever . Cheers bro :)

They are holding up pretty well! I think if I was doing any large drops I would switch to pegs 🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾

sick. im in upstate NY. i want to ride on a 'rail trail. here in albany. i think with a peddle kit it will be more PC and acceptable. the older walkers and bicycles hate Ebikes. and it gives you more range and an option when your battery is too low. win win. cheers.

There are a few videos out there of me riding the bike with the pedals… the ones I installed did nothing they just spin in place. I never got pulled over with them on.

I want one of these so bad…. Just recently started riding my S2 to work. It’s only like 1.25 miles so me not keeping up with traffic isn’t that big of a deal. Would be nice to get over 40 tho… lol
Bone stock a Sur Ron should do 45 ish mph on GPS. Green wire cut. If you want 50’s mph get Bac4000 or 8000 with battery BMS bypass. 70-80 mph need 72 volt with bac 8000

You have to get work and brake lights and turning signals… there are websites to get your Bikes registered

Not legal, a guy so pull over and police checked to see if crank was hooked up, ie NOT FAKE...that guy had it hook up so he was fine....
Used a little too much lock tight on the pedal kit. I thought there was supposed to be a sprocket as well but I guess not because it's just for looks not really functional.

OLOLOLOLOLO in ny state all ebikes r considered the same as a pedal bike.... no pedals required.... and u cant register a surron...it has no paperwork.... good luck
@@lvlack420 don' think that true at all. I live in new york and according to the laws all ebikes must hve operable pedels and are limited to 20mph, except you can go 25mph in nyc. I just put the kaniwaba "ghost" pedals on myself to at least look somewhat like a bike but yeah you need pedals . please show me where you see otherwise

Electronic assist kit does not work on new surron until they update their controller. Works on new segways.

I think the point is this... If a police officer sees you at a red light or on a roll and sees the pedals, more than likely he will figure your are compliant.

my biggest question with this product is would you put pedals on a 110 gas dirt bike?(they go about the same speed 45-47mph) if the answer is no then why would you put it on the sur ron? the pedal design was created for a 50 pound bike and under not 120 pounds. not knocking the video itself but having ridden bmx for over 10 years prior to the sur ron i can tell you for a fact that pedals do not belong on this bike.

You’re totally right…. But it’s better than going straight pegs like my one buddy does around here….. The one thing about this kit is that you can hot-swap right back to pegs if you want…. But I don’t know about mine I put way too much blue Loctite on it😂 anyways we’ll see what happens I know regulations are coming sooner rather than later might as well have as much fun as you can safely 🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
