- Hey Coaster Fanatics, This is my HD night ride front seat on ride POV and Review of The Beast. This coaster features two drops, the first drops you 110 feet and the second banks you 18 degrees and drops you 141 feet. The beast has a max speed of 65 mph. with a track length of 7,359 feet The Beast is the longest wooden coaster in the world. You guys this is an amazing night and if you are at kings island you must ride this at night. Enjoy the ride. I’ve ridden The Beast at night... with no brakes. One of the perks of being an employee on The Beast back in 1990/91. It was absolutely insane.

CoasterFanatics hey Patrick --- it's now April of 2018 ,kings island just had opening day , I noticed some shrubs , a few trees ,and the trampoline jump over in Coney mall missing , between the old dinosaur alive and the stunt coaster , if you come out of the stunt coaster station and do a 180 degree turn ,you have a (maybe) a pre clearing for a lift hill right smack in the park ,I now ridership for that ride is way down , there has been talk about it's removal . What do you think ?????? Look at a satellite veiw
The Beast? They're never going to remove it, not as long as it continues to hold the world record as World's Longest Wooden Roller Coaster.
It's also the only 'in house' built roller coaster in the entire park, and it's record has stood since 1979. It's recognized as a coaster classic, so to think they would ever remove it is silly. They're more likely to remove Vortex than The Beast

The worst part about this ride is how long you have to wait until you get to the top of the first hill! The anxiety is terrible lol! But thats just part of The Beast experience haha
lol, It is part of the experience and it's also done for safety. The chain won't speed up until the other train has cleared the second lift hill. This is to avoid any chance or a collision.
@@CoasterFanatics also if it was faster the chain lift would be louder and block the sound out of the "welcome to the beast, keep hands and legs inside the car at all time, thank you." so its for 2 safety reasons
When they redid it they sped up the lift
One time some yelled “TERMITES!”
This rollercoaster terrified tf out of me at night lolll I thought the coaster would derail lolll but the tunnels making it pitch black and riding at night made it intense.. RECOMMEND RIDING THIS! It was awesome.

Night riding the Beast is inexplicable. The drop into the helix, the cool air in the woods, the inability to use sight to get your bearings. It's wild man, probably one of the best coaster experiences in the world. You really have to ride it to know what all the damn rave is about.
From around Cincy/Mason, this is my favorite ride ever!
@@Feinauerfire it's the best night ride in the park for sure, but, I think rides like Mystic Timbers and Orion edge it out. Don't get me wrong I love the Beast, but she's gotten a bit rough in the last decade.

This is still my favorite night ride! It's simply amazing to fly through the woods through the pitch black dark forests of Ohio. It's actually scary!

What's even scarier than that...being alone on the train during a night ride. Done it several times when I worked at KI back in high school. My buddy back then and I would go there shortly after close for night rides and take turns operating it for each other.
This ride never gets old! Grew up going to Kings Island and Cedar Point, had the best of both worlds. The Beast is just awesome!

I rode this coaster back when it first opened. Back then, the only light was a single light right over top of the tunnel entrance which basically blinded you from seeing the opening until you were right on it. Best wooden coaster in my. mind as well.
The Beast at night is a true classic. My dad's only request when we make our annual trip to the park. Can't wait until they open up this year.
Nice, yeah this is a must ride at night. It's amazing how long the line gets when it gets dark.
The ambiance of riding this great roller coaster at night in the mid 80's was unforgettable. Back then they used to serve beer out of concession stand build along the line and the drinking age was 18. They'd play loud rock music and the crowd was lit in more ways than one. You were guaranteed to witness at least one girl fight in the line and by the time you got to the ride everyone was on 10! Once you were seated it was a virtual party train! Good times. I also rode it in the dark in the rain. BEST RIDE EVER. I can't tolerate heights anymore so thanks for posting this video. It's the closest I'll ever get to riding this magnificent Beast again.
The Beast is just about the perfect night coaster ride, especially with a full moon. The blinding spotlights on the 1st lift hill, and the eyeshine of the animals in the woods staring at you on the 2nd lift hill just make it that much more intense.
Unrequited what animals in the woods? I've never seen them...
@@tomulator On the second lift hill at night, if you look back behind you away from the spotlights, sometimes you'll see the eyes of owls or raccoons or whatever in the trees gawking at the crazy humans riding a roller coaster
Rode it last night now that they finished working on it. Almost a full moon, 3rd to last ride of the night. Absolutely amazing, as always.
also the pitch dark tunnel and the sparse "hole filled" tunnel is amazing at night
My family ended every Kings Island trip by trying to be the last people in line to The Beast at close, then we would chant "One more time" coming back into the station. Before I was born my parents set a record of 3 rides in a row without getting off, after having ridden it twice going through the line
For a night time POV, this was actually really good. Riding it a dusk rather than in absolute darkness helped. It is definitely an incredible night ride, the best of any roller coaster around.

I rode this when it was first opened at Kings Island back in 79. I waited 3 hours in line for my first ever ride. I barely met the height requirement back then. I've ridden it many times over the decades and it never gets old. The first time I rode it at night was back in the early 90s. It was intense. Although I know the layout by heart the night ride still scares the heck out of me. Still the best wooden coaster there is.

The night ride on The Beast is fantastic. I rode it back in the 90's at night and never forgot it to this day. I lost my voice for 3 days on this one. It's in a league all its own.
It's truly unforgettable.
Cool that you got a recording of it right at the dusk side of night so you can still see the outlines of the trees. Such an awesome ride in the pitch black. wish they would take out the light at the beginning of the first drop... ha. Thanks for posting.

Its the best ride
I've rode The Beast at night somewhere around 50 times the past three seasons due to slow nights of Halloween Haunt occasionally and it just doesn't get old. I know the layout by heart but it still surprises me every time. The craziest Beast experience I've had was being bundled up, riding it in the cold pouring rain at night- intense just doesn't even begin to describe it! :) I'm with you my friend this is THE BEST woodie out there, while there is many great ones out there they all can't compare to The Beast
Its actually not my number 1 wood coaster anymore but its still in my top 5. It's still my number 1 night ride though. I don't think that will ever be beaten. Thanks for watching!
One time when I rode at night, it was one of the last trains of the night, and when we came back, there was still one couple left in the station. So some people got off, but I got to ride it twice!

Steel vengeance is pretty good, but it has nothing on the pure nostalgia and simplicity of the beast, which just has a good overall ride experience. Sure, the elements are pretty simplistic by modern standards, but the thrill of going at high speed through the woods at night on an old rickety train will never be matched by any modern coaster.
What’s the roughest riding wood coaster you’ve did my roughest ride was the predator at dL and it’s the same company who did mean streak which I also rode

Cameron Henderson it's so fun...scarey and intense. one of the best ever. if you're ever able too...a definite must try at least once in your life. my 13 year old daughter loves the beast!!

CoasterFanatics it’s insane on a hot night in the back row and don’t forget to leave room for amplified amounts of airtime and try the front row cause it’s smoother in the front and it’s really painful in the back but that extra airtime is worth it

When I went to Kings Island last month, I was really looking forward to riding The Beast. I had high expectations for it given the hype but I was also so afraid that it wasn't going to live up to the hype. Watching the POVs on RUclips, it just really didn't look that exciting with all of the trims and the type of ride that it is. Boy was I WRONG! This is an awesome classic coaster that is so different from anything else I've ridden! It feels much faster when you're on the ride and the name is so fitting. It was also smoother than I was expecting it to be, I rode in both the front and back and loved it. I like how the park added all of the facts about the ride in the que line for it's 40th year and the station is just so cool with it looking so dilapidated. What would make this coaster that much better, is if they added some sound effects when you're going up the lift hill such as some deep breathing and growling (like the original commercial for it had back in 1979), followed by a big roar before you go down the drop! That would just be so awesome and some sort of animatronic Beast or projection in one of the tunnels would be super cool.

Best ride ever!! Went to Kings Island after 6:00 years ago. It was like no one was there and we rode The Beast 13 times in a row! We rode all the rides too including the Log Flume 3 times! Totally awesome back in the 80's..great night that I will NEVER forget❤️❤️❤️
i wouldn't call it best ride ever in the day but at night even though i haven't rode in it either night or day still in the best NIGHT ride ever

My first ride on The Beast with my daughter in 2007 was at night. It was epic!
The view from the top of the second lift hill is cinematic. This ride must have been a riot when it first opened in the late 1970's.

The best ride ever! I have been on many coasters across the country and still haven't found a ride to beat this one. It's fun anytime of day, but the night ride is amazing. Absolutely no question it's the best night ride coaster antwhere.

It may have even been a timing mistake, but I was on it with a cousin and we always talk about it on the rare occasions that we see each other. Keep up the good work man!!

11 and I've been scared ever since. I'm 24 now and I'm on a roller coaster trip this weekend with one of my best friends and tomorrow I'm heading to kings island to ride the beast, conquer my fear and hopefully say hello once again to an old friend. Look out Beast, I'm coming home.

It was Spring of 1988 and my eighth grade class had our graduation day at Kings Island. It was a small private school called Bethany in Glendale, OH. Our whole graduating class was 16 of us, again small. It had rained all day putting a real damper on things. The park cleared out towards early evening. It was just before dark when Mother Nature smiled down on what few people were left in the park and turned the rain off. 12 of us made our way to the Beast. We walked through the turnstiles and straight up to the loading gates. The workers were surprised to see our small group show up as they said they were contemplating shutting the Beast down for the night. It had been an hour since it had last ran. My class were the only ones to strap into this menacing thrill ride and head off into the darkness. Upon returning to the loading station we noticed not a soul was waiting to embark. It was a young worker running the controls. He asked if we all wanted to stay on for another ride. Silly question, we all shouted YES!!! We rode it 12 times in a row until the ride shut down for the evening. Only pausing once to let a young high school aged couple jump on with us. After spending most of the day in the restaurants gift shops out if the doom and gloom of the day it ended being the best finish to any day I ever had at Kings Island.

I remember going in the 70s when I was a small boy,my dad riding it and seeing his eyes when he got off the ride. Then riding it as a young man,it's the best coaster ever made in my opinion

Definitely my favorite roller coaster of all time , I road it many times back in the middle 80s , on up to the early 90s , not a better coaster in my eye. I remember those summer days and nights waiting in line to ride it. Sometimes it was a 3 hour wait , but it was definitely worth the wait. I was a teenager back then. When your a teen, u dont mind waiting. Lol.. I'm 51 now , wouldn't do it now though, my stomach cant take rides anymore. Lol..

Fear of heights only lasts that first hill. Not too bad. Sit in the middle cars. That first hill on Orion is much worse for the fear of heights.
Rode The Beast at night the year it opened as a kid. We waited in line for hours. A thunderstorm blew in and they announced they were thinking of closing down because of lightening. People refused to leave, so they ran two trains and we got a ride. Ever rode a motorcycle at highway speed in the rain? In complete darkness? It was an experience!!! Especially back then...

Park closed early last time I was there. Headed back again this summer and a night ride is my goal
I just rode this at night for my first time last saturday! I was completely in awe! And to top it off K.I added heavy fog throughout the layout which added an extra little touch, and quite honestly scared the hell out of me. That thing moved so fast through the tunnels I felt like it was about to fly off the tracks. Honestly now in my top 3 wooden roller coasters of all time after riding.
First time I ever rode this was at night, I was speechless at the end of it.

Cool! I almost filmed Lightning Rod at night but I wanted to ride without my glasses on once to feel the wind, and it was closed the whole next day. I actually like that night ride more though!

Today me and my fiancée got in line and was in line for over an hour. Due to technical delays, they were having problems. Had to run a few times each coaster train. 3/4 of people infront of us left like because they figured it was getting to be 8:40 and they wasn’t running, so they wasn’t going to! Waited an hour for the best ride, especially since the partial retrack. Was the best and added an extra thrill having to wait due to technical delays. Knew it was nothing but made it all the better to wait for it.
