Doesn’t make her not a nepo baby. It certainly plays a massive role in her getting OPPORTUNITIES, but she has clearly done enough on her part to make the most of those opportunities. So yes, being a nepo baby gives you an insane advantage, but it’s what you do with that advantage that eventually matters. So many other nepo babies out there who are nowhere near Maya
I will never understand trying to deny inequality, just because you like someone who took advantage of the inequality. Maya didn’t create the hegemony, and she’s certainly talented and lovely enough to warrant the attention she’s getting, but we don’t have to try to hide the sun with our hands.
