Thank you for taking it into the sticks. This was one of my main concerns about a DeepV boat. Believe it or not after 6 hours of searching you have the only video on the internet of a DeepV in shallow water. Lol Thank you Sir!!!
Great boat regardless of the price. And that 150 will do just fine, I remember growing up and my dad had a 16 foot aluminum fishing boat with a trolling motor only. Now that sucked trying to get around a big lake.
OK I have the Tracker also. U just gave me a great idea with the versatrack for the rod holders. 1/4 screws. I purchased holders of Amazon and was fixing to add more. I do have some without the aluminum piece. I'm going try this.
Please DO look up “versatrack hacks”! OEM Versatrack accessories are outrageously priced. You can even grind down two sides of the lag bolts so that they are removable where they are instead of sliding them all the way to the opening.
For anyone wondering if they should go with the bigger motor, i will say i have this same boat but i did get the 225 pro xs on mine and it was worth every penny. Boat tops out at 60mph and the holeshot is incredible
It’s a great motor for the lake we frequent, but I was left wanting way more on a larger lake we went to. If I was to spend the majority of my time on a larger body of water, I wouldn’t have second guessed putting a bigger motor on it.
Trolling motor bounces like mine on my targa v20. They should make something to hold it better so it doesn’t beat itself to death going across the lake.
@Jordan Behlen They are carbon fiber shafts that are designed to not only take the abuse of hitting underwater objects, but also being able to take the abuse of being on the front deck. Is it the best thing to let them bounce around like they do? Probably not, but they are designed to take the abuse. Would a “foot” under the head while in transport help? Sure, but not necessary. If it was necessary, they would include such items in the kit, design it so that the head has less clearance to bounce, or even recommend them in the installation instructions. They do none of these. Saying I “now nothing” isn’t quite the case on this subject. If you want to debate “newer” units and what abuse they are designed to withhold, I’m here for debate all day long. I enjoy the conversation Jordan. One of us might come out with our minds changed, ya never know.
@Jordan Behlen Totally agree with all of the “brains” being in the head of the unit it should be more secure. I actually do have a support on mine while on the water lol. I just have to be a smart ass myself and argue both sides. I don’t like watching it bounce around like they do either. No apologies necessary Jordan!
So I'm considering this exact boat with a 200 or the nitro zv19 which is 15 grand more but all fiberglass...I'm not sure what to do. Not sure if fiberglass is worth 15k.
You can beat up an aluminum boat and repair it easier. The nitro is great for fishermen, but not so much the family. You won’t regret getting a 200 for sure!
Sam Thompson Good lord, you should have seen the main livewell! We had five nice cats and some crappie, I think I still could have snuggled up in there with them 🤣. I’ll never be able to fill that one up, but if I do, I’m calling you for help with cleaning fish!
@@MatanuskaHIGH There are a bunch of “stories” of people blowing them up because they forget to turn them off when they take them out of the water. Lol.
I believe all Terova’s come with remote controls. The remotes have way more functionality than just the pedal like inching to the left of your current position. Yes mine did come with a Bimini top. It protects us from the sun, but I kinda warped it at around 35mph. FYI, if you get one, only use at slow speeds lol.
Those boats must have gotten really heavy over the years. I still have my 1996 targa 18 with a merc 115 2 stroke and it does 50 mph in calm water. 46-48 all day in rougher water. I wish I had that center rod locker. Must be nice. Why is the trolling motor setup so high. I just ordered the terrova 80lb thrust with a 60 inch shaft and I hope it doesn't sit that high. Must get in the way. Or did u just raise it up because ur in 2 feet of water?
G4 Outdoors that makes sense then. Really nice boat. Some people talk bad about tracker quality but if you take care of it, it can last a long time. Mine is 25 years old with the original outboard and trolling motor (until the terrova comes in) and I've made some updates to modernize it with electronics and removable rear casting deck and a swim platform. But the carpeting and vinyl has held up. Nobody believes it's 25 years old and I keep it outside under a car port. Not in a garage. The only thing that doesn't work anymore are the gauges but those go on all boats over time. You will enjoy this for many years. Congrats
@@g4outdoors have a question about the tournament edition, does the Terrova have the “iPilot Link” of just “iPilot”? I have one on order and trying to figure out if it will come with the link or if I’ll have to get the retrofit for it. Thanks bro, love the channel!
I will make a video on the plaining level just for you bud!!! That is due to the 150hp. I have to trim it all the way down to turn hard, or even slightly hard for that matter. The motor likes to cavitate quite a bit. And the plaining wash being so far forward is because it doesn't have the balls to get up any higher or it will start cavitating again. That is why I said I would recommend getting a bigger motor, but its not necessary. I'm satisfied with the performance, but like the saying goes, I wish I would have got a smaller motor does not apply to boats, LOL. But for $9k extra, I'm just fine scooten across the lake at 42mph instead of 50 or so. One other thing, the motor is pretty smart and that is all the further it will allow the trim to go before it knows it is starting to cavitate. A TON of safety features built in. I can't even get this one ton boat to porpus (< cant spell) , its just a flat runner with the 150hp. Again, just satisfied, not amazed.
@@cutandcleanwi6947 It's specifically propped by Mercury 17p stainless. I get close to 6K RPM. It hole shots pretty good, it gets on plane pretty good, its just the top speed is lacking. I will check the depth of the motor here in just a bit out of curiosity.

IF you are going to consider the Targa be sure and look at the Ranger VS and VX v-hull boats as well. You pay more but get more and solve all the bitches about the Targa.
The Ranger has .125 hull thickness, all aluminum floors and decks, 5052 H34 marine grade aluminum, foam-filled one-piece construction and the exact same lifetime warranty as the Tracker.
@@jayb7675 The Tracker Targa, beginning 2020 has .18 haul thickness. I’ll take a thicker haul for my application all day long. All electronics are the same on every boat, pending the motor that is pushing it.
@@g4outdoors I just pulled up the Tracker website, Targa V-19 combo Tournament Ed. and it says "all-welded, 2-piece .125 aluminum Deep V hull w/wide beam & stable bottom for a smoother, drier ride in rough waters". You are correct, they did increase the thickness by 25% in 2020...from .1 to .125.
The story about people wanting to go along boating and not pay for gas or help with cleanup is true…that’s why the 2 person boat setup is perfect
