The first step in learning the traditional Tibetan lute, the Dranyen or Dramyen, is tuning! Today we will learn how to tune our Dranyens.

Why is the small dranyen tuned La Re Sol with the sol being lower than the La? Couldn't one use a thinner struing in order to get high sol? BTW, fantastic video. I like this style.

You could, but this is just the traditional tuning for a dranyen to have the lower sol.
