- Customs agents are cracking down on illegal drug and cigarette smugglers coming into the UK. Two female passengers are stopped by agents after showing suspicious behaviour to the sniffer dog. With high traces on drugs found on them, the agents take them to get a full body scan. Elsewhere, a woman is caught smuggling drugs through unusual methods, and a British man gets angry after being caught with an excessive amount of cigarettes.
At airports in England, customs agents check suspicious baggages and odd travellers to prevent illicit activity and substances from entering the UK. Officers pick out nervous passengers, and believing them to be drug mules, scan them for drugs. Sniffer dogs pick out illegal packages.

They did mention the man had a note of some sort I believe that’s what the call was reassuring along with if he was actually allowed to have the child
So I live in Canada, in order for me to take my child out of country, even though my husband and I are married and living in the same home, we had to get a letter stating that he allows me to take the children out but we also have to have it signed by a legal verified notary, , them just calling someone on the phone how would they know that that’s the kids parent, they could be talking to a trafficker, also it could be a parent trying to kidnap their child without other parent knowing which happens a lot. Not a very smart way to handle these situations in many countries
in the US all you need is a note from the parent singed with contact information and such when going to canada and other places. all counties are different

My uncle used to work there. He tells me that usually these type of commodities are stored for a while (4-6 months), then they would "dispose of it" but most of the time it's distributed amongst themselves.
@@TangerineTulip Drugs are different. Because it's highly illegal, will be used as proof to incarcerate criminals, and will most likely go to the DEA or whatever crime organization is in the country they found the drugs. Drugs are not stockpiled in consficated items warehouse.

That 23 year old girl was very lucky to only get 7 years for an extremely large amount. I wonder if she gave someone up. That is so dangerous....either way she ruined her life for nothing. The people she was doing it for don't care about her and she will never be able to get a decent job. It is so sad what risks people will take.

I felt really sorry for her, she seemed like a very naive person that was tricked into doing this. Since she has been sentenced to 7 years and the documentary is from 2009 she'll be out by now and I hope she found a better life with people that don't make her do criminal things.

It’s disgusting how people are just commenting badly about all this border officers. You all should walk in their shoes. They are doing their best in protecting everyone by preventing drugs and illegal activities from entering your country . All those questioning and searches are necessary. If you are innocent it will be found out soon. If there no officers like them, how do you see your children’s future with all the drugs and vices around? They are doing a great job along with those special sniffer dogs.

It is even more disgusting when Border Patrol guards are ordered that they cannot stop anyone or turn them away. I would imagine that would make the border guards greatly stressed out. And greatly increases your the odds of criminals entering also. That is definitely harmful to the citizens of that country.
It is always a mistake when officers indulge offenders in a discussion trying to convince them that they are breaking the law. They know it but will always argue they did not know.
They are obliged to explain to make sure they aren’t accused of upholding the offenders “rights.” Unfortunately, the officer don’t have the right to not take the verba abuse or physical threats.

I'm really tired of the tobacco smugglers claiming that they weren't aware that they can't bring in more than 200 cigarettes and one bottle of spirit per person. It's been the exact same rule for as long as I started traveling 50 years ago. The information is available absolutely everywhere and there are signs all over the airports. But yeah, some shady guy in a back alley in Turkey told them they can bring as much as they want. Sure.

I’ve been through customs a hundred times. I’ve never seen them take verbal abuse. They will put you on the ground face first! Heck TSA don’t even play like that. I guess the UK is a bit softer.
I was in the US Navy and am well traveled. The US and our territories are very strict. US customs boarded our ship
and did random inspections. We had to fill out customs declaration for each deployment overseas.
I have flown international flights on commercial airlines, too. I found the most welcoming customs in Australia, but even as friendly they were, they were also serious.
The two strictest customs that I went through are South Korea and my own USA. This is only personal experience.

I looked up prices in Europe, and Estonia wasn't even in the cheapest range, more so in the middle by price. Though I suppose they could've been bought elsewhere and just smuggled through Estonia, border control in the EU/shengen is quite relaxed with main active strict control on the non member country borders

I wouldn't be surprised, if another low links job is to bring cartons from Turkey to the EU, where it can then more easily travel across many borders.

I had to take a break in the middle of this video to listen to Glen Fry Smugglers Blues. Then I remembered Miami Vice. Nothing has changed since the 80s. Drugs like cocaine are like chasing a white dragon. You think smuggling it will get you rich, but all you do is get burned.
My theory is this: you know it's illegal to transport drugs whether on your person, in your baggage, etc. if you're stupid enough to try to transport drugs for someone else, knowing that, if you get caught, YOU are the one who will do the jail time, while the person you're transporting for is back home walking around free!! You do the crime, you do the time!! Don't say "I didn't know", because you DID KNOW!! YOU JUST CHOSE TO BE STUPID!!!

There was a TV show where a antiquities smuggler was planting stuff on people. One or two get caught while others make it through, and the smugglers would corner the poor people later outside of the airport. Just count the ones caught as "acceptable losses"

I can’t believe that custom worker is handling the bags without gloves, if there’s fentanyl inside the baggage she could die in an instant.
These episodes are old, I don’t think fentanyl was even the huge problem in the U.S. yet when these were filmed. Plus the U.K. didn’t really experience the opioid crisis as we did in the U.S. and Canada. The numbers for opioids are rising now but it’s still not as bad as here and as far as I know they don’t have the fentanyl issue anywhere close to here. There were 58 deaths in England and Wales in 2021. Scotland has a pretty severe opioid problem but fentanyl has yet to make its presence felt even there.

This was 08. Fentanyl wasn’t really a problem then. I remember in high school back in 06 as a sophomore they were concerned with coke and weed but just because it’s dr*ugs not really the overdose risk.

The videos where police officers are experiencing an overdose because they touched fentanyl? Panic attacks, they're experiencing panic attacks. The misinformation surrounding fentanyl has been extremely frustrating for those of us in the medical field.

I'm from the United States. I would fly often for qork in the Oil Field. My job consisted of handling explosives. And I would cut. Lot of Primer/Det cord. I would carry my tools and cutters in my backpack while working. I would not fly qith them but did fly qith the bag. And I would wear my steel toed work boots to fly as well cause it ×as easier to wear instead of carry them. And the look on the TSA Agents faces when they would run swabs on my boots and bags and they would come back positive for explosives was priceless. I would arrive early because I know it would take longer going thru security. I would have to carry and show my explosives licenses and they would do a thorough search and never find anything and I would explain why I test positive. And at times they would use my stuff for training. Good times

I think it's so sad that the 23 year old woman resorted to being a drug mule. She has destroyed part of her life because someone either forced her or tempted her with cash to do that. We all must accept our decisions, but I feel sad for her. Life should be the best at 23.
