How To Catch & Cook Yellow-tail Kingfish

  • Fishing from a ledge in NSW south coast. Targeting Longtails late in the season with no luck, we end up hooking a few Kings. We managed to see a school of 14kg + Kings that ended up killing our yakka and leaving. We camped this ledge for 3 nights and was a great trip. Any tips or suggestions for content, we would love to hear.

    Talica 12
    - 400m 80lb Tasline
    - 130lb leader
    - Float + 6/0 circle hook
    - Tagem 15kg 5’6 Rod
    - Custom made LBG Rod stand
    - Ebay shovel clamp
    - Bunnings Flat bar
    Slammer 9500 IV
    - 80lb main line
    - 130lb leader
    - Prevail 10foot 24kg
    - Float + 6/0 circle hook
    Yakka pool
    - Ebay ‘kid pool’ or ‘dog pool’

      Rubber clamp base from Ebay and then flat bar from Bunnings. Bend the flat bar to the right shape and drill the flat bar to the clamp.
