- Lila is the character of a short film that somehow completes a sort of aesthetic trilogy I have started in 2008 with "A short love story in Stop Motion" and then followed in 2011 with "A shadow of blue"

I am portuguese, but I'm going to write in english, so everyone can understand.
I found this video somehow particular. I noticed that each person is discussing in their own language, unlike other videos. In my humble opinion, this phenomenon is related to the universality of the content.
No speech, only images, drawings. Just a girl taking part on strangers' lives in a beautifully magical way. By art. And in the end, she changes her own life...in dream.
No matter where you came from, which language you speak, the nation you belong, your beliefs, the color of your skin. You watch and understand the whole message. And you ALL have the same state of mind after watching.
Only if all nations could synchronize their feelings, just like in this film, in order to restore peace to the world...

It’s called “Lila” on the very particular reason. This piece is both a great impersonation of lila (a divine game of Universe in Eastern religions) and a very sharp neurophysiological description of human perception. We literally pre-draw and actively construct our world from pieces. So Lila is a not a daydreamer, she is a Universe and a Consiousness.

This short film is truly amazing. Carlos Lascano has done a terrific job filming and capturing the emotions.
For me and in my place in life, I found it somewhat sad and NOT childish but thought provoking. I constantly ask of myself "IF I AM LIVING IN MY LIFE or OUT MY LIFE?" The saddest realization would be if I am just coasting through life and not doing EVERYTHING I can making my life full. Lila lives in a make believe life that is drawn from a mind of great sadness and longing for LOVE. Something we ALL need and ALL have lost in our lifetime. Lila's life will begin when she snaps her pencils in half and begins drawing in REAL LIFE instead of make-believe .Like a new born baby taking the very first breath after separation of the mother and umbilical cord. I recognize this character and I thank you for posting. I hope more people see this short film and take away something for themselves. I sure know, I HAVE.

Cualquiera fantasma
Si, uno es lo que construye, los dibujos que hace de su vida, los colores que le pone; si quieres que tu vida se llene de miedo o tranquilidad, depende de ti.. Si, a uno lo define la manera cómo enfrenta la falta, las frustraciones, los amores perdidos, el dolor.
Pero lo que más me gusto de este Corto, fue el hecho de poder pintar-se, dentro de los colores, dentro de la armonía, dentro de la historia de la propia vida que se construye; y es que uno poco se piensa en el pensamiento (y esto significa tantas cosas), uno poco se ve “adentro”; y ese es un ejercicio buenísimo para transformar-se y transformar la realidad.
Y lo otro que me encantó: es recordar que eso que se irradia, esos dibujos, la realidad que creamos, puede no tener otra fuente que el amor recibido, los amores perdidos, el amor de la mamá…
Si, uno es cómo enfrenta la falta, y esa falta se puede llenar de color y dibujos de gato.

Such a great example of how to combine animation with cinematography in a simplistic style. The film is great and based on a simple imaginative storyline which enables the character to develop through the film. Loved it.
