- This was right after Chapter 2: World Domination dropped and has the whole crew (DJ Paul, Juicy J, Gangsta Boo, Lord Infamous, Koopsta Knicca, Project Pt & Indo G) minus Crunchy Black.
Here they talk about the origins of the song Tear Da Club Up, give a bogus reason behind the group name, tell why they didn't leave Memphis and more.
man i literally just shed a tear when infamous grabbed the mic. rip to a legend. pioneer.
He probably wasn't much of a camera on kind of guy but he should've been asked about how the group formed or brought up the whole situation and his part creating the Where Is The Bud guitar beat (original).
looks to me like he was the fucking man

Already!!
Miss them fools
Me as southern dude, I always look at Three 6 mafia as the Wu Tang of the South. They legends 💯
To me, Three 6, Outkast, Poison Clan, Geto Boys, Arrested Development, 8ball & MJG, Little Brother, Dead Prez, 2 Live Crew, UGK, and Goodie Mob were the best big name groups to come out of the South in the 90s-2004 era.
Side Note: Arrested Development was led by a Midwest MC, but still counts.

LMAO Paul had to improvise on the origin of the triple 6
He'll yeah, smart man.
No need to turn off potential future fans. Need more fans than just the certain org. Backing you in the growing and developing
Lol he was quick on his feet though
Bro said WE WAS KNOWN AS THE THREE MAFIA 😂😂
Triple 6 in the 90's was the greatest shit ever !!!
Love Gansta Boo she had the masculine swag but turned it FEM and looked good. She was so HOOD back then!
That’s why she’s respected
So it’s just the rugged raw
She still is, she never really changed much, she's a real one
RIP Gangsta Boo

I have been on them since 1995. Is Seattle. Was we do in good for be in far out
Gangsta Boo is hands down the queen of gangster rap, Lil Kim nice, but Boo was and still is the hardest, La Chat go in too.
Terrance Hill JR don't forget La Chat, princess loko or ms. tini
Mia X
Chat was the hardest
PRINCESS LOKO OF THE DJ SOUND KIND.
chris anderson where can i find a vid of ms.tini rapping?
That Indo G Angel Dust is still fire to this day. One of my favorite solo cds from Hypnotize Minds. That Goldeneye Throw Them Thangs beat...whew.

lol they do
they good people - Paul, not so sure.smh......
@kagaku-shu Iden-gaku Damn. Good looking out ✌
Right lol but yet they the deadliest lyrically and literally
lmao @ pauls explanation for the name
Nah Joe Clair was actually into finding about music from other regions as a hip-hop fan. He was always genuinely interested in learning about the South & the West because it was new to him (and people on the East). Peep the video I posted when Joe & Rap City visited Houston
Damn I did not realize that was Lord sitting there until he started speaking and they gave that close up shot nigga was super healthy back then
That was 🔥🔥🔥🔥 M4L RIP LoLa Ricky Koop. So awesome to see them all young and BARELY starting to ball big time. Scarecrow says "We tryna go down in history" well you've done that, and SO much more, the influence this group has on today's hip hop in HUGE, and the music they all continue to make is still innovative and fire AF, especially my main man DJ Paul
Can't forget. Nicky Scarfo "Prophet Posse" K-Rock, Nigga Creep
I miss 90s so much sometimes. I thought it was weak when I was living it but now i realize how much better almost everything was compared to 2003 up. 😣😢😢
project pat back there chillin
Wade Evans man I feel like project pat was underrated from three 6 mafia
Pat was Solo, Juicy his brother
kagaku-shu Iden-gaku Fr is Paul n scarecrow really the gangsters of the group?? N why do u say juicy fake?
kagaku-shu Iden-gaku I’m a huge fan n would love to know
kagaku-shu Iden-gaku what hood u from in north Memphis
lol back when Lord Infamous didn't look high and drugged as fuck all the time.
3-6 might be the most underrated. And I forgot they used to lie and say they weren't on some satanic shit. RIP LORD INFAMOUS.
Brett Ashley Kinard what that gotta do with three 6 mafia lmao that's his dad, he ain't in the group boy.
Koop and Lord were the ones that took it a little more serious
@@cannondawkins9246 Yep, look up "Koopsta Knicca New World Order" documentary. He clearly said that he hated god and was the driving force behind all the satanic stuff. He even said he had satanic bibles.
@@TheBsheep yes sir
@@cannondawkins9246 paul too he was into that shit too back then
I was 2 years old in 1998. RIP Lord and Koopsta. Blessed to come across this in 2018
#RipLordinfamous #RipKoopstaKnicca
Nah I wouldn't agree, trap sounds like newer three six, but those old classic underground albums can't be matched.
Got a New One is just fucking dope though.
gangsta boo is a beautiful woman!
she just a girl here 16 17
Haha they nervous as hell especially about their name.
YOU'RE NOT A VICTIM YOU'RE A MONSTER stfu
Yea they were a subgenre of rap called Horrorcore, although they mixed the dirty south crunk sound with it. Horrorcore lyrics are more sadistic darker and waay more violent then your average gangsta rap album and yea they can cover topics anywhere from rape, satanism, domestic violence, and murder.
lord infamous talk like a.j. johnson from players club lol 😂
no it had everything to do with horrorcore/devil shyt. Look it up, Lord infamous talks about the origins of the name
big props for uploading this
Look at koop passin the mic right as he asks what the name "Three Six Mafia" means.
Lol him and lord were the most satanic based ones thats why
Rip lord infamous
I remember watchin' diz episode Wit Three 6 at tha age of 15 in 98'
She was the best female rapper alive in this moment...not a doubt in my mind...Scarecrow knew
No wonder Indo G left. He brought unmatched talent to prophet posse and they barely gave him a chance to speak about Angel Dust coming out soon.
Rest in Peace, Gangsta Boo
Look at them back then, you just no there about to do big thangs, legendary interview....
I got love for these guys abd Master p baby and all those who started this independent shit its crazy to see them young talking about it back then when they didn't know they were making history learning to do partnerships with these major labels and don't let them get full control of your rights and creativity rip lord infamous..
Man I miss that group together but look how Paul ran shit lol juicy wasn't that outspoken then
You could see the frustration though from Juice and the others!
AZs OOBuck why would you think that is?
That craig petties muscle
John Krantz wym by that man paul brother was running shit over dem north Memphis niggaz
AZs OOBuck u think he was jealous
Indo G don't look like he happy back there lol
They was so young
wheres crunchy
where da fuck was crunchy black
It’s no secret Paul and Juicy were the brains behind the business and the individual movements from North Memphis to the BHZ. Triple 6 was their original name and yes it was on the horrorcore/devil shit but it was a gimmick. They were talented and brilliant. Brilliant enough to know it would get them noticed and clever enough to know that when they got the nationwide distribution deal that name had to change to gain national appeal...thereafter becoming Three Six Mafia.
What u know about there different sounds from BHZ to north Memphis?? How was the gangster of the crew
Courtlin Gaddis I grew up on their music and have owned all of their old tapes before they got any record deals. They were influenced by other Memphis underground artists as well. If you asking who was the gangster...would have to be Crunchy, he was a robber, dope seller, gangster nigga moreso than anyone in the group
Andrew Pollard so paul was never GD or more g than juice
@@AndrewPollardMR1080 DJ ZIRK DJ SQUEEKY....
They definitely worshipped Satan
DJ Paul was a great producer...Juicy was a star...Pat was cool...but Lord was a God bro...
🐐🙏🏽 I been payin homage to the wrong rappers for a long time 💯
I love how DJ Paul basically is just lying for the TV when he talks about the name. Probably so they don't get in trouble with TV censorship or something because references to Satan back in the 90s would get angry Karens protesting them lmao. Real fans of Three 6 knows what's up. They may not worship him, but they did rap about him
36 Mafia Ain't no Satanist. Not like people think. They're GD's.
Classic material
Facts
@blewis88 Juicy J & Paul Were The Producers, but NOT Better Than Koopsta Knicca.
Lord and Koop Kept That Dark Sound Going for Them.
I miss the 90s
Where's Crunchy Black? They mentioned it once on 10:54
hell yea tear da club up rip koop and lord see you on the other side
"WHAT DOES 3 6 MAFIA MEAN?" THEN EVERYBODY START LOOKIN AROUND
Joe Claire a great interviewer. The low down dirty 3.
Don't think it's the first they had one when they was in the studio using a blanket for sound protection. Remember watching it but can't find it on the internet
That one came out 2 years later in 2000 when they were at Hypnotize Minds Studio in Memphis.
@@CottonDuzIt do they have it on RUclips?
The actual brain is Pat satting in the back. LMAO! PIFF THIS IS MY CLICK LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. LOL SAME AGE.
The wu tang of the south!
Facts
I wish they would all just get back together
GODSELFINFINITY funny when you wrote that they got back together 1 year after that lol
Part 2 dropping this week, along with more videos, including Gangsta Boo's first Rap City appearance
Are they embarressed about the original name?
No but you couldn't really be saying that on live TV lol
Once they started going for the mass appeal they had to disguise the origin of the name a bit but it's so obvious to everyone
RIP the scarecrow, but when he grabbed that mic, he was either nervous or high as fuck 🤣
Paul cappin. They got the name 3-6 Mafia from their original name Triple Six Mafia. They got the name Triple Six Mafia from Lord Infamous.
...same thing. They music still what it is daddio
Project Pat end up being the best of them all.
you can tell he lying though lol. I don't care one way or the other but it's obvious.
Damn, I remember watching this when it first aired.
“Why you all the Three-6-Mafia?”
[improvises]
“Cuz there was 3 of us and then we got 3 more to make 6 of us. It’s math. Yeah, that’s why. Math. Nuthin else.”
Reminds Me of Jr./ Sr. High School Days in the 90'z 'Em bowling alleys were Da spots 2 kic it at
Juicy J was so well behaved In this video. so suprising
you mean his head wasn't so big and swollen yet?
@@baxter021 Wym? Dude's head was never swollen. Juicy J gotta Dolphin head.
@@gtamenace9743 big head means he thinks too much of himself. after chapter 2 album he started thinking he didn't need all these other rappers in the group
@@baxter021 Dude. I wasn't there. I don't know nun bout that. Three 6 mafia coulda split up for many different reasons. Lord Infamous and Crunchy left on their own time. Juice had nun to do with that.

Three Mafia🤣🤣🤣Okay wuteva u say Paul🤣🤣🤣
gangsta boo was cute as fuc back then lol
Their name actually originated with some gang shit. It had nothing to do with horrorcore/devil shyt.
They doin a interview with 3-6 mafia playing Rick james in the background 716
Yeah Salt-N-Pepa's song "Gitty Up" (instrumental on this clip) samples Rick James
DJ Cotton Here can u post more videos of three six from the 90’s n on

@GanjaSmokingMexican1 juicy said the same thing on the tyra show
@thislost Three 6 Mafia are legends and at the time they had a sound that nobody was fuckin with. Now listen to all the trap muzik thats out, sounds just like some buck three six shit.
I always thought 3 6 mafia was just another way of saying 666 Mafia
It is 😂. They just said this to be more mainstream friendly
@john Northrop jr. You got that right when u desribed the 3 6 name meaning origin as bogus 😂
That's so fucking dope yo, coming from a Real Memphian
