  • This was right after Chapter 2: World Domination dropped and has the whole crew (DJ Paul, Juicy J, Gangsta Boo, Lord Infamous, Koopsta Knicca, Project Pt & Indo G) minus Crunchy Black.
Here they talk about the origins of the song Tear Da Club Up, give a bogus reason behind the group name, tell why they didn't leave Memphis and more.

To me, Three 6, Outkast, Poison Clan, Geto Boys, Arrested Development, 8ball & MJG, Little Brother, Dead Prez, 2 Live Crew, UGK, and Goodie Mob were the best big name groups to come out of the South in the 90s-2004 era.
Side Note: Arrested Development was led by a Midwest MC, but still counts.

It’s no secret Paul and Juicy were the brains behind the business and the individual movements from North Memphis to the BHZ. Triple 6 was their original name and yes it was on the horrorcore/devil shit but it was a gimmick. They were talented and brilliant. Brilliant enough to know it would get them noticed and clever enough to know that when they got the nationwide distribution deal that name had to change to gain national appeal...thereafter becoming Three Six Mafia.
