There’s a recent interview that Eminem did where he said that he chooses his words specifically where he knows that he can rap those words to the specific rhythm or speed of his song and it feels good in his mouth without getting all stumbly and awkward. So a lot of the times what he originally wrote gets changed, if he tries it out and it doesn’t work. So that helps him particularly in his fast rapping , he’ll change the words to some thing that is easier for him to say fast, multiple words even. Other than that, I’ve heard from rappers and rap coaches on RUclips that you Gotta keep your mouth very loose and relaxed to rap fast or something.
@@ACarter87, it's a little more than common sense. Rapping THIS fast requires the words equal an odd number of syllables in totality. If they don't, this is why rappers will stretch words into more syllables -- slurring or pronouncing them to add or take away syllables.

Eminem is defs not the fastest rapper. Eminem holds the record for most syllables per second in a NUMBER ONE HIT SINGLE. This is an important distinction, and disqualifies every single song that doesn't reach number one, which is most of them. There are way faster rappers than Eminem, but he still the GOAT!
Eminem is so incredibly articulate when rapping fast, that you can actually hear every single individual word he raps, but your brain barely has time to comprehend what you did actually just hear before he is onto the next bar. He thinks on a completely different plane than everyone else.
I don't know why this was recommended to me but you're so bright and happy and full of energy and you express how most people enjoy Eminem but can't express it themselves why. So I'm subscribed now.
the singer of the chorus is Juice WRLD. He left an impact on so many people in the world in the short time he had. You have to check out his music on the channel
You should also review Eminem's song "Gnat" which came out after this one. He switches flows/melodies several times in that one, pretty unusually but it works.
Not to mention he has the black eye in Gnat from where Mike Tyson punched him in the face in this music video lol so Gnat's music video is a pseudo continuation from Godzilla's music video.
One thing that people don't give Em credit for is how clear he is and how he is able to annunciate all of his words so clearly. Where as a lot of other rappers who do rap as fast as he does it can be difficult to understand them. Very awesome watch. The cool thing about this song too is that the ending leads right into his next track "Darkness"...where the topic is of a real life "monster", and not a fictional one like Godzilla. Cole Bennet did this video! You can actually see him at 3:22, passing out an Eminem concert flyer, doing his best cosplay as a young Em. :)
That was a great point about the consonant (cluster)s being a key part of clarity of the rapping. It actually transfers to other domains, like business (think presentations, commanding rooms in meetings, etc.), because speech, the primary mechanism humans use to cooperate, becomes clearer, more crisp, & more controlled. The other major physical skill for rapping that comes to mind is breath control/breathing strategies. I believe (I unfortunately have tried to find the name of the technique but don't know the exact search terms to use to find it and the obvious ones like "rapping breathing techniques" haven't worked well for me, but I think the name I found makes sense) Eminem (and other faster rappers) employ a breathing technique known as "circular breathing" where they are using both the air from inhalation & exhalation to produce the sound instead of having inefficient breathing, inhaling (employing a timing technique or something based on the rap) & then producing the sound, exhaling just by virtue of the air exiting the lungs to produce the sound. This that requires basically a "dead inhale" (just a name I'm making up on the spot) where no sound is produced, but could be (after all, it's going through the same pipes the air during speech is). I've made analogies to swimmers who have sticking their head up to inhale as part of their stroke but the good ones are seamless in their technique, however the analogy doesn't quite work as well because the speaking/rapping is using the same parts of the body as breathing is where as swimming is not. Regarding the breathing, one cool thing would mean, optimally, there isn't a limit to how long Eminem and others (if they do employ the "circular breathing" technique) could contiinue to rap at that pace (at least not in the sense of increasing the difficulty of the rap itself without breathe control considered). But basically it would mean they could just talk/rap/whatever without needing to stop to breathe. Anyway, sorry the essay. I just wanted to say thanks for making a great point that made something "click" for me (again, the point about the consonants). Then, I wanted to incoporate that into a theory that the key, ignoring style, physical skills (along with understanding of rhythm, although that's more intellectual than physical), from a technical (craft, you could even say) level, for rap are consonant prounciation & breathe control. The creativity, much like with painting or sculting or crafting a comedy bit or whatever, comes after the "craft" of the art is developed (which in the case of rap is the afforementioned ones and others (especially when you get into the craft of writing)).
Thank you for the message! You are totally right. You might be interested though about building up CO2 tolerance. It's part of why circular breathing is tough. When our body converts the oxygen to CO2 it wants to get ride of that CO2. When rapping and singing you are limiting how much you can get rid of and for most people that build up of CO2 feels really uncomfortable. It is something that our body can get used to but it takes training. Most of the research on this is in sport but it is leaking into singing science now as well :)

I wish Juice got to record his verse too but dude heeee kills that chorus R.I.P Juice WRLD 🙏🏻 biggest loss rap has gained in the last few years is definitely Juice no one is as talented as Eminem or Juice WRLD honestly R.I.P Juice WRLD 😭
By the time Eminem had reached out to Juice for the hook, he already had the verses for this track laid and finished and just needed a hook so Juice was never gonna have a verse for this song in particular. But Em and Juice definitely would have worked together on more songs if only Juice hadn't passed away sadly. It's a shame cause they sounded great together on a track.

Beth, I wouldn't mind if you never got around to making a reaction to a single bit of it, but you should really treat yourself to juicewrld. Fantastic young artist with a touch emotional depth and intellectual/lyrical complexity I wager would sit well with you
I like in the lead up to the fast verse the beat slows and simplifies which makes his raps stand out and draws your attention and focus before blowing your mind.
The director of the video was Cole Bennett, who had previously directed Juice Wrld's most popular song Lucid Dreams. There is something of a rumour that Em's fast verse at the end was not intended to be in the song, but Juice's passing before recorded his verse left a space needing filling, and Em wrote it in as a tribute.
It's funny because I think rap God by eminem was the fastest rap and then he beat his own record with this song. The only person that beats eminem is eminem! Lol 😂😂
Well, it's not _technically_ the fastest rap ever. The confusion comes from this: Eminem's "Rap God" is a Guinness World Record, and this is faster than that. But! Rap God's Guinness was not for being the fastest, it was for "most words in a hit single" (1560 words). Note the qualifier: in a hit single. People forget that part. :D Wiki says about Godzilla: "Eminem's third verse on the track holds the record for his fastest rap verse, rapping 10.65 syllables per second, or 300 words in 30 seconds. Eminem surpassed his own records held by his feature on Nicki Minaj and Labrinth's 2018 song "Majesty", where he rapped 10.3 syllables per second, and his 2013 song "Rap God", where he rapped 9.6 syllables per second." But it's definitely possible to rap faster than this, people have done the challenge at 1.25 speed after all :D Honestly, I think he can go faster than this, too, but he just avoids it because it's not as enjoyable to listen to. Again, the "hit single" part is important - he wants people to like it, not to break records. :)
@@EmeraldWings90 going faster than this also almost guarantees that it won't be a clear as it is in rap god or godzilla. Hes rapping fast but every word is clearly said.
@@EmeraldWings90 I thought so too for a long time but Eminem actually got 2 guinness world records for Rap God. 1. Most words in a hit single 2. Fastest rap in a No.1 single (which as you said he broke twice, latest with Godzilla)
@@Bond91Swe That's interesting, I looked it up, you're right! Good to know. Still, does not change the fact that the qualifier "hit/no.1 single" is there, which was the main part of my point - people have rapped faster than this. Just not in music that people like this much :)
I think one of the reasons I became a fan of em is because his pronounciation is clear always and even I could follow and understand it on a fly, even though english is only my third language.

I liked how in this song he does like 3 levels of fast lyrics like leveling up as he goes on, at 3:35 first level, at 4:20 2nd level, at 4:44 the 3rd level. When you listen to the normal song you go through the 3 steps without Mike interrupting and its more impactful

You know what’s also amazing and refreshing? Your reactions to new music. You’re incredible.
Beth is so pleasant to watch, you can tell she's a gentle soul.
He raps so well, his raps are so well-spoken.
the singer of the chorus is Juice WRLD. He left an impact on so many people in the world in the short time he had. You have to check out his music on the channel
You should also review Eminem's song "Gnat" which came out after this one. He switches flows/melodies several times in that one, pretty unusually but it works.
Yeah, also switches beats multiple times, pretty incredible song
Not to mention he has the black eye in Gnat from where Mike Tyson punched him in the face in this music video lol so Gnat's music video is a pseudo continuation from Godzilla's music video.
Exactly my bro
Gnat is great!
That is not Cole Bennett
it is@@hgb0005
That is George one of the Reactor on the react channel
I only heard this song last month and it is already one of my favorites.
i love how when i click on any of beths videos "closed caption" comes on like the video tryna tell me you need these subtitles... beth you rockkk
I love how your smile faded once he hit the 2nd half of the 1st verse before the chorus 🤣
Ems breath control is unbeatable, not even the fast part, whole songs on every song. 🐐
Like Kenny G played single note for 40ish minutes, right?
Thanks!
Thank you!!
I love your reaction... We all looked the same when we first heard the ending.... Love your videos!
3:32 “they call me diddy” WHAT EMINEM😂
Yo this song is just so insane one of my favorite Eminem songs ever and I love all of his material 🔥🔥🔥, but Eminem & Juice WRLD 🌏 together is amazing!
Dmx, pop smoke and nipsey hussle there's 3 ha
By the time Eminem had reached out to Juice for the hook, he already had the verses for this track laid and finished and just needed a hook so Juice was never gonna have a verse for this song in particular. But Em and Juice definitely would have worked together on more songs if only Juice hadn't passed away sadly. It's a shame cause they sounded great together on a track.
Imagine walking in a parking lot and then suddenly mike Tyson appeares out of nowhere and punches you in the face
I literally cried in the juicewrld tribute bro. He has been a great part in this vid and i love all the content by juice. RIP JUICEWRLD
literally clicking through EM vidz on a rabbit hole.. and finding you understanding SO MUCH more than most reactors! hearing a new perspective on an apex predator of rap.. cheers :D
Eminem said he has read the dictionary many times and he knows the exact pronunciation and definition of almost every English word
It's nice to see Em finally getting the respect he deserves. People weren't saying that 25 years ago, but at last, here we are.
rip juice wrld. he is still one of the singers im still daily listenig
The diction when he raps is what makes him the best, well that and just the INCREDIBLE speed that he is able to rap is what makes him the BEST as well
Beth, I wouldn't mind if you never got around to making a reaction to a single bit of it, but you should really treat yourself to juicewrld. Fantastic young artist with a touch emotional depth and intellectual/lyrical complexity I wager would sit well with you
I would she gotta react to him 😂
@@QuavoGotFame i agree, i was more upset when i found out juice wrld died than the queen cant lie, such talent rip

I like in the lead up to the fast verse the beat slows and simplifies which makes his raps stand out and draws your attention and focus before blowing your mind.
Eminem is a living legend hands down!
Wiki says about Godzilla: "Eminem's third verse on the track holds the record for his fastest rap verse, rapping 10.65 syllables per second, or 300 words in 30 seconds. Eminem surpassed his own records held by his feature on Nicki Minaj and Labrinth's 2018 song "Majesty", where he rapped 10.3 syllables per second, and his 2013 song "Rap God", where he rapped 9.6 syllables per second."
But it's definitely possible to rap faster than this, people have done the challenge at 1.25 speed after all :D
Honestly, I think he can go faster than this, too, but he just avoids it because it's not as enjoyable to listen to. Again, the "hit single" part is important - he wants people to like it, not to break records. :)
@@EmeraldWings90 going faster than this also almost guarantees that it won't be a clear as it is in rap god or godzilla. Hes rapping fast but every word is clearly said.
An wasn't gonna do nothin too special to we lost juice
@@EmeraldWings90 I thought so too for a long time but Eminem actually got 2 guinness world records for Rap God.
1. Most words in a hit single
So cool to see someone just focusing on execution rather than the lyrics. A different point of view that I’m glad I got to see.
4:50, he is saying 10.6 syllables per seconds, or i think per minute.
it's per second
11.12
Per second
Rip Juice wrld 999forever
I think one of the reasons I became a fan of em is because his pronounciation is clear always and even I could follow and understand it on a fly, even though english is only my third language.
Your facial expression speaks volumes in itself 😂 Em is the 🐐
RIP Juice. I know you are still with us in our hearts, and obviously in our heads. What you left behind will never leave, and it is a greater gift than most will see. Thank you for all you have done.
Juice WRLD is forever.❤❤🔥🔥
She don’t know who Juice wrld is…….
That is mad crazyyyyyyy tho
Doesn't* third person, bro...
So what. If you ain't involved with this kind of music you don't necessarily know him
STFU bro no one cares about grammar in texting like dam@@amunve2
That's truly unfortunate
I know this isn't part of your reaction, but the way you pronounce words is fantastic! It's much more clear than us American would do! Fantastic!
Juice wasn't in the video because he had already passed. The director for this music video did ALOT of Juice's videos, hence why Em chose him.
Jarad talking in the end always hits me so fucking hard... RIP Legend.
4:44 when she thinks to herself "wait, THAT WASNT the fastest part?"
I thought youtube subtitles would not catch up to the words lmao
A cool thing that Eminem did in the music video at 3:13 if you look on the right you can see an album cover that is juice wrld's
Marshall is the best. He is the goat when it comes to rap, but what makes him the best is his incredible speed while rapping with the crystal clear diction and the cadence that he is able to use as well. But he never forgets to give thanks to Dre and other rappers that he thanks as well.
I really needed juice wrlds words at the end. Going through smt right now and those words help a lil bit.
In an interview, he talked about how as a kid he read through dictionaries more than anything else
The way her face changed when he started rapping fast is golden
I don’t think juices death hit me as hard as it did when I heard this song and heard he wasn’t able to do his verse before he passed. RIP Juice wrld you king❤❤
Honestly a solid reaction, happy to have clicked the video.
You were so surprised about the fast part that I thought I had to mention Tech N9nes "Worldwide Choppers", it's basically the fast part of this video for 5 and a half minutes
4:20 MY FAVORITE PART OF THE SONG
Omg same
Fr bro
Same
I am live on the end of this outro.. rip 999 🙏
you just witnessed the best rapper in the history of hip hop
As impressive as the fast part is, he has done it in one take on social media using ONE BREATH. He posted it as the "one breath challenge" for his followers.
Weird Al with Hardware Store beat that challenge, too
eminem doesnt need a vocal coach, the vocal coach needs eminem
You are right!
05:00 Goosebumps every time!
Also 5:28 Agreed
Cole Bennett is one of the goats of Music vids. Glad he was able to do this with my personal rap Goat and someone (Juice) whos lyricism could have one day gotten to Em's. If you havent seen juice freestyle on eminem beats for an hour go watch it. Impressive.
The "smooth" voice on the hook is the late, great Juicewrld.
If you noted the guy dressed as young Eminem, handing out fliers, that was Cole Bennett, the director.
Are you sure the young Em is Bennett? Recently watched REACT react to this song and one of the people claimed they were the person who played Young Em. They said they were the one in the straight jacket and the one handing out the fliers.
@@DemonicTheAngel No, I'm not sure at all. Just what I heard.
@@DemonicTheAngel definitely not bennett lol
@@FernandoTieppo Zero idea who that person is though. Don't care enough to know.
@@DemonicTheAngel turns out you are correct. George Todd McLachlan, according to IMBD.
Rip Juice wrld 😢 I love this song I listen to it a lot
growing up eminem must have had the best vocal coach
He was completely broke growing up. He didn't have a vocal coach. This is natural talent and a drive to be the best.
Watch the movie 8 mile..gives a glimpse into his life, though it's not a biopic. Great movie.
Mans had Hip-hop albums of the ogs
Great reaction. Thanks also for the possibility of translating your reaction.🔥
Honestly I'm a Metalhead and hard rocker I really don't like rap at all but I do like Eminem probably cuz he's the only one I really understand and can follow. :-) damn he can speak fast.
RIP juice man took way to soon🕊🕊
1:46 THE EYE ROLL WHEN HE STARTS WHISPERING AAAAAAAAAA
That clarity is dr dres work as well they are beasts in the studio
I WILL BE AT THE TOP OF THE RAP GAME ONE DAY🎤🔥
Definitely
That was fkn incredible 😆 I've seen a lot of Eminem stuff but this was new... amazing... only watched it cause i was watching one of your other vids... so thanks 😁 looooove how you react...physically....subbed...am well liking your vids so far... real reactions.
I've seen interviews where other artists say that Ems ear for pitches and tones is almost unreal
I liked how in this song he does like 3 levels of fast lyrics like leveling up as he goes on, at 3:35 first level, at 4:20 2nd level, at 4:44 the 3rd level.
When you listen to the normal song you go through the 3 steps without Mike interrupting and its more impactful
1:29 why did she pause it there 😭
💀💀
RIP Juice WRLD 🙏🏼🐐
3:59 cole bennett always made good visuals like that
🙏 R.I.P Juice WRLD, fly high 🕊️✝️
The voice coach was laughing until when she heard
Eminem : Fill 'em with the venom...(the fastest side)
Then she was like 😮😯
You had the same reaction EVERYONE has as that last verse begins. Jaw drops, in awe of what’s going on.
You should listen to more juice wrld. He has countless AMAZING song. Released and unreleased. He was a legend fs. RIP 🖤
Thank you for not skipping the end
Finally someone letting Em breathe by pausing.
This literally has to be the most interesting video I have ever watched. Totally being 100% serious.
