I can't win making these videos. lol. The low hum you hear for the first few minutes of the video is tree cutters working the streets around my house. I shut the windows a few minutes in...but I can hear it listening back and figured I'd mention it. enjoy! and I have a link to order the GI Joe Print collection artist edition in the description box. (not a sponsored link) also I hear sirens in this video as I type this. ...so funny. hahahaha
Best cover artist ever...especially considering what he did with his G.I. JOE covers. I'm not sure if I have ever seen an artist that could convey so much energy and motion going on in his art.
Actually, I enjoyed the hell out of the last video, but I appreciate that you posted this one too.Golden's run on Batman Family was often inked by P. Craig Russell and it's nice but seems a little too textured for the pencils. There's a recent book out of all the Golden Batman stories if you're interested.
cool thanks@! I am going to check out that batman book. I want to get the GI Joe comic and will for sure get that portfolio...that is too cool to pass on./
The paste up on the Fanfare 2 cover is all the stuff that looks drawn white on black. So I suspect he drew that and flipped is with a Xerox or something
Richard, a bit off-topic, but for those inking digitally, what's a good way to keep your work from getting TOO detailed, or the lines from getting TOO fine? Certainly, in inkers like Golden, Williams, Townsend and even Austin, it would seem like anything goes, but I notice it's still too easy to get "dense" in an area. Any tips to avoid this or check my work as I go, especially for a thick'n'thin style? Thanks?
Take the creative time you need, quality over quantity for sure! Loved your last video, although you excitement showed through but left me a bit dizzy with the camera moving around so much! Loved how much you got into the art and loved looking through inside pics with you. You exposed me to some titles I never would have thought twice about looking at, thank you very much for sharing!
hahahaha./ I was panicking from all the noise my neighbor was making on that other video. I edited it all out but he kept hammering and then would stop and then randomly start up again....so I was I think trying to rush to I guess to beat him/ lol Thank you...glad you liked them!

Starlin was one of my favorites in the 70's show. I was into the micronauts then Warlock. Hunted and hunted until I got them all. Ooh la la!!
Ink piece: looks remotely like Arthur Adams
Rich: "this is so Arthur Adams"
That one area looks just like Art inked it. I stand by that.
