this has to be the most redundant series I've ever watched from Taylor. I get it, but I never thought I'd see multiple videos of installing mini splits or a 50 minute long table build. I hope to god they run out of stuff to do in the shop soon and get back to building cars and racing
Same here! Unpopular opinion, but I enjoy the journey and project content more than the drifting events. I watch it all, but the projects are so inspiring.
@@wilderstewart9917 I work for an LTL carrier and I was dumbfounded seeing a big ass box with a donkey on the side of it with the company name of big ass fans. Thought it was the coolest name for a company ever
This is exactly what I was thinking as well. Probably could've just added a fan and not needed the extra mini-split honestly. Especially because the additional cooling can easily just fall down to the lower level.
the organic growth of the space makes it that much more of a vibe. it's not all planned out and sterile, it's like an actual shop space that grew at its own pace
Obviously some people have way "Nicer" Shops. But I seriously love the realistic obtainable feel that yours has. It's also so unique with the loft and center lift. Awesome job getting to where you are Taylor. You are a great example to people on what is possible if you put the work in.
Man Han’s garage in TD was so cool! It’s always stuck with me since I was a teenager. That whole movie is a vibe honestly, it doesn’t even feel like a FnF movie anymore compared to the new stuff.
Hi love what you do. I was literally shouting at my iPad. “Put rubber feet under the outside unit!”. But you already did it, well done. 😂 keep up the good work 😊
That's the ultimate man shop cave. I would spray paint or wrap the electrical conduit in front of the peg board so it's camouflaged on camera and doesn't stick out so much. Great job guys.
I definitely enjoy your videos watching you build a great shop! It would be cool if your sponsors would have a giveaway with tools or something to help us with our shops. Thanks for your videos as always!
Man, those trousers are *tight* ! And, he'll yeah finally some warm soft lights, need more spots (for example on the lifts) & underglows (for example the stacker)!
This looks great! Thanks for inspiring me to put mini splits in my garage. I have a 16'x30' loft in my 30'x50' shop as well. I decided to add home depot 10' fans that only pull 1.25 amps and that circulates the hot air when I'm up in the loft. Wishing I did the floor before, but it'll just be what it is now
Idea for more light. Behind the peg board place top n bottom led lights on each pine board to shine threw the peg board and eliminate nicely. Just 4 lengthens needed. Anyone 👍
Sick. You should add a remote for the ground floor shop lights so you don't have to climb the stairs when you want a more chill ambience and light bleed from below.
The Loft Needs Wireless Surround Sound for the TV. Something Else you could use to help while podcasting in the Loft is Clear Colored Welding Wall Curtains on Sliders so you can see if anyone comes in the garage.
Hey Taylor just 3m command strip a felt pad to the lid of your toolbox to protect the screen if you feel a little uncomfortable with the gap. Love the shop build!
REALLY need to swap to those black chairs. Brown is now a huge contrast with the rest of the theme. Also adding a couple ceiling fans to get circulation of air would really help your overall cooling or a single Big Ass fan help pull that warm air down / reduce overall AC use.
Hey just a heads up with the mini split, leaving the lineset coiled up like that will trap oil in the bottom of each loop. Most manufactures recommend at least 15 feet of lineset to be used, Anything more you could cut out and braze the fittings to the end. You should definitely pull a vacuum on the lines before releasing the charge to get rid of air and moisture in the lineset. Doing these two things could help that unit last 10 plus years if you dont it could fail in month or less. Everything else looks really good though. FYI I own an HVAC company im just throwing some tips out there lol
I'm big on moving/upgrading the garage, game room, etc. every once in a while. I love your vids. I love the way you present yourself (I can only assume you're cool as a cucumber in person). I love how you're finicky and picky without being "too much" in my opinion. Keep up the work. Love that you take the time to share and talk about your hobbies. I'll probably throw you some DMs when I look to install a lift in the future.
Mount the TV to the top rail of the stacker on a pole mount, you can pivot it around and itll be directly across from y'all when youre in the podcast chairs.
You should look at metal wall board. You can get it customized with a picture you send in. Its also pretty affordable. Plus if god forbid your shop catches fire it wont contribute like pressed pegboard does.
Hear me out, make the lean straight by extending the Pilar’s you have and then cut a hole in the lounge area for a doorway outside where you can access everything for the ac without a ladder and then it’s also a multipurpose of storing more stuff outside if need be.
Hey Taylor I would personally flip the lift setup put your box on the wall and chairs by the Miata so when you do podcasts you can have the OG car that built your channel in the background plus those pod lights would be great overhead lighting
You should buy a lift for your TV, so you can hide it away when you're not using it. Put it behind the shorter tool chest, then you wont have to worry about craning necks.
I did my first one on the ground. I built a new shop and did my next two on brackets (metal building). The brackets are much better! I have wood girts though, so I was able to attach to those.
Hell ya, shops turning out real good!💪🏼 That line set loop behind the condenser is ehhh, I see why they say loop the extra length like that but it just looks tacky. At least it’s behind the shop & condenser tho🤷🏻♂️ They say loop the line set because it’s pre-charged for DIYers & the dry break type fittings would be useless if you shortened the line set so it looks professionally installed. Then you’d have to pull another vacuum & recharge the system. You win some you lose some, it is pretty cool that someone can install a mini split system themselves and be up & running without a vacuum process needing to be done. All because their cool dry break/no loss type fittings👍🏼 Keep up the work brotha, shop is coming together perfect & it’s well deserved🫡
The lines are not charged, they are vacuumed, the charge/refrigerant is in the compressor, when you open the valves you release it through throughout the system.
Put the TV in a cabinet on a televator behind the low tool box, there will be times when you want the TV on and the top of that toolbox open. Put another display shelf to the left of the pegboard for symmetry and paint the conduit black in front of the peg board to hide it.
A large 70+ inch shop fan (on low speed so its silent) would help a ton to even out the temp in the shop, and likely make the AC workless. Amazon - Parrot Uncle Black Ceiling- 100" fan whisper quiet and under $300 .. Shouldn't even hear it on high..
I love seeing you dabble in all kinds of trades. I still giggle hearing EMT as hard conduit. (I know you technically aren't wrong) but as an industrial I&E. GRC is what I consider hard conduit 🤣 it's good work and you do well at it!
you should wire in a reverse switch for the 2 lights up top so you dont have to walk to the front of the shop to turn all the lights off you have a switch for both sides separate the chill side and the parts side but you can turn the bright light on and off from up top it would also make it so you can have the chill side light off and the parts side on to see whats your doing like if you have people over ripping the sim but your working on a car of something like that
Put the tv on a swivel mount right in top of the 3 car stacker the front of it so you can see it from the shop floor and flip it and be perfectly for the hang out area with the chair orientation
No just disconnect the Florescent light over the loft that you want to chill in.Leave the rest of the florescent lights on and the lighting will be different and more chill and vibe. This is easy
@Taylordrifts totall works that is for sure! Normally its a finer tooth count. That is all i was pointing out. I wasn't calling you out. It just made me chuckle.
You might want to add some sort of foam cover/cushion along the bottom outside steps of your staircase to save someone's head. In case somebody runs down them in a hurry and smokes their head on the step corner.
Definitely need a smart light switch that connects to the wifi for the main shop lights, so you don't have to go all the way down to the door to turn them off every time haha
maybe it is not for everyone but i really love your shop vids
I’ve honestly gotten to where I’m more excited about the shop and property videos than the car videos. Lol
I don’t mind them but would much rather see more car content.
this has to be the most redundant series I've ever watched from Taylor. I get it, but I never thought I'd see multiple videos of installing mini splits or a 50 minute long table build. I hope to god they run out of stuff to do in the shop soon and get back to building cars and racing
You're not alone, I love it along with garden maintenance.
They’re my favorite uploads!
Keep seeing everyone complain but I love the shop, boat, yard, bus etc videos. Of course the car videos as well but I’ll watch whatever I enjoy it all
Same here! Unpopular opinion, but I enjoy the journey and project content more than the drifting events. I watch it all, but the projects are so inspiring.
U need a big shop fan mounted in the middle of the ceiling to circulate the air conditioned air throughout the shop, Much more efficient cooling
a big ass fan!
100% @fannythedonkey hook this man up with a big ass fan.
@@wilderstewart9917 I work for an LTL carrier and I was dumbfounded seeing a big ass box with a donkey on the side of it with the company name of big ass fans. Thought it was the coolest name for a company ever
Who is the manufacturer of your new strip lights? Looks like a good light for mounting under my 4 post lift for working under cars.
This is exactly what I was thinking as well. Probably could've just added a fan and not needed the extra mini-split honestly. Especially because the additional cooling can easily just fall down to the lower level.
I remember watching you use a door as a workbench haha, crazy to see how far you've come with such a nice shop
I miss the door workbench
I think about that door a lot. Mostly when I’m doing things that aren’t ideal but the best I can afford at a time.
My workbench is still a door 😢😂
the organic growth of the space makes it that much more of a vibe. it's not all planned out and sterile, it's like an actual shop space that grew at its own pace
As an electrician some of this pains me but I do respect that you're taking it on yourself
Don't know anything about US code but as a swedish electrician all of that looks really weird. :)
A little trash shoot behind the Milwaukee table would be so convenient 🔥
This is by far the best construction/shop build series on youtube. It’s the gift that keeps on giving with all these projects 🙂
Led strips behind the peg board would look awesome
Hi love what you do. I was literally shouting at my iPad. “Put rubber feet under the outside unit!”. But you already did it, well done. 😂 keep up the good work 😊
A couple of cheap ceiling fans would help a ton. We run our fans all year around. Even during the winter, they help push the hot air back down.
That's the ultimate man shop cave. I would spray paint or wrap the electrical conduit in front of the peg board so it's camouflaged on camera and doesn't stick out so much. Great job guys.
Watched the whole vid because I love you Taylor…but I really NEED some RX7 content!
I definitely enjoy your videos watching you build a great shop! It would be cool if your sponsors would have a giveaway with tools or something to help us with our shops. Thanks for your videos as always!
Been watching you 7 years man!! So amazing to see your growth.
Seeing the miata there cant wait to see it in all its glory again
Man, those trousers are *tight* !
And, he'll yeah finally some warm soft lights, need more spots (for example on the lifts) & underglows (for example the stacker)!
shop vids lowkey my favorite
You could run some LEDs behind the peg board for your display, might be cool for some backlighting
I really appreciate that you take the time and effort to turn the shop into something amazing and a place you really enjoy being in.
Dream shop.
This looks great! Thanks for inspiring me to put mini splits in my garage. I have a 16'x30' loft in my 30'x50' shop as well. I decided to add home depot 10' fans that only pull 1.25 amps and that circulates the hot air when I'm up in the loft. Wishing I did the floor before, but it'll just be what it is now
A big fan would have been a killer too. Overall comfy shop vibes.
Thats your next shirt. Done. Dusted. Dialed.
What an awesome chill spot, something i hope to build in the near future! Keep up the content Taylor!
Looks incredible!!!! Dream garage for sure ! 👍🏼
Shop is looking great! Great work guys!
You need to have a power disconnect to the outside unit (condenser) it the Florida state law and a safety thing .Good video thanks
Just needs a shop radio playing the same station for the next 25 years
Love the shop updates, always a great inspiration for upgrades anyone can do at home.
A “BIG ASS FAN” would help equalize the temp across the shop
I miss the old days when T Ray used to build race cars. Those were good times
Idea for more light. Behind the peg board place top n bottom led lights on each pine board to shine threw the peg board and eliminate nicely. Just 4 lengthens needed. Anyone 👍
I'm so excited to see you Start Drag Racing and to watch the buildup of the RX7!! Can't wait!! 😊
Great fab work as always and LOVE THE LONGER VIDEOS !!! KEEP EM COMING !!!
I think it looks like a pretty cool hangouts spot.I love watching the outcome ticket
You are incredible, don't stop creating content!
Sick. You should add a remote for the ground floor shop lights so you don't have to climb the stairs when you want a more chill ambience and light bleed from below.
Those new chairs are lit. AND THEY FOLD!! Even better omg. That’s how you know ur getting old😂😂😂good video brother love watching ya! Keep it up!
I’m the same about the conduit instead of flex. It’s so much cleaner. Love the shop
Such a sick set up 🔥
YES, LIKE THIS SHOP BUILD, TO MANY OTHER DOING BIG SHOPS, I LIKE THIS SMALL SET UP, AND IT WORKS.
definitely underrated song 19:01 major lazer la roux in for the kill definitely major throwback
Beautiful sunshine, blue skies & rain 😅 god i love Florida 😂 👏🏼
You can put all the BTUs of AC u want. With no circulation you’ll never have a uniform temp
REALLY need to swap to those black chairs. Brown is now a huge contrast with the rest of the theme.
Also adding a couple ceiling fans to get circulation of air would really help your overall cooling or a single Big Ass fan help pull that warm air down / reduce overall AC use.

I also weld.. so big props on welding more or less by the book. Never stop learning and inventive.
A safety rope across the parts storage area would be a great addition if you should trip or slip etc, just something to save anyone from falling,
Podcast camera will mount nicely to that grey railing of the 4post 👌🏽
New lighting looks great!
ANOTHER JOB WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All these Ken's crying about a shop video 😂😂😂 im just happy to watch any vids from the man himself!!!!
Mount the TV to the top rail of the stacker on a pole mount, you can pivot it around and itll be directly across from y'all when youre in the podcast chairs.
I really enjoy the shop build videos. Even more than your Jet boat and drift videos.

The lines are not charged, they are vacuumed, the charge/refrigerant is in the compressor, when you open the valves you release it through throughout the system.
Move the other AC condenser to the roof as well, the lines look long enough and that clears the side area along the shop
Great idea !
Always love shop vids
Taylor, you need at least 1 or 2 BIG ASS FANS in the peak of building. It would make everything more efficient.
You can easily unzip those cushions and wash the covers. They should be made out of sunbrella which is normally mold resistant.
10/10 man cave!
Take the lights out of the track. Crimp a little bit with your channel locks etc and re install track heads.
Put the TV in a cabinet on a televator behind the low tool box, there will be times when you want the TV on and the top of that toolbox open. Put another display shelf to the left of the pegboard for symmetry and paint the conduit black in front of the peg board to hide it.

Love how the Miata looks like a museum display. Lol
Why tf does jose always sound ultra BAKED!???? like dude sounds like he needs to work part time at a headshop and then part time at a festival!
One of the flip down brackets over where the miata is could work for the tv
you should wire in a reverse switch for the 2 lights up top so you dont have to walk to the front of the shop to turn all the lights off you have a switch for both sides separate the chill side and the parts side but you can turn the bright light on and off from up top it would also make it so you can have the chill side light off and the parts side on to see whats your doing like if you have people over ripping the sim but your working on a car of something like that

Nothing like watching TV in your shop when you're a single guy and your cozy living room and your fridge are 15 yards away in your house. Lol.
Good Work!
I would love to show you some conduit runs I’ve done just cause I genuinely enjoy bending conduit as an electrician
You should install a Lutron caseta dimmer in the shop this will allow you to set a pico remote up in the loft to turn the bright work lights off.
You should get an artist to paint a curved background for behind the sim rig. Some track-esque.
No just disconnect the Florescent light over the loft that you want to chill in.Leave the rest of the florescent lights on and the lighting will be different and more chill and vibe. This is easy
You need some mood lighting up there too. It's just getting blasted with sterile white light. It would be way cozier with some non-top-down lights.
Looks good I think it would be cool to have some small led lights around border of the peg board area
the framing blade cutting Aluminum... Awesome
Works mint. I used to work at an aluminum awning shop and cut thousands of pieces with one. Did send a few across the shop though.
@Taylordrifts totall works that is for sure! Normally its a finer tooth count. That is all i was pointing out.
I wasn't calling you out. It just made me chuckle.
"Idk what you want" " idk what i want either" literally me and my wife hanging anything up in the house
Only thing you're missing up there is a handheld vac. What a huge difference you've done, now to enjoy it with a beer and a lazy day. 🍻
You might want to add some sort of foam cover/cushion along the bottom outside steps of your staircase to save someone's head. In case somebody runs down them in a hurry and smokes their head on the step corner.
At this point you should’ve invested in a regular split system. Hang the air handler tall up in the ceiling and ran spiral pipe for ducting
Definitely need a smart light switch that connects to the wifi for the main shop lights, so you don't have to go all the way down to the door to turn them off every time haha
You should put some Magenta LED's behind the peg board.
I love the inner drifter in you, let's try and fix it with a ziptie😂
Literally stopped watching whatever I was watching for Taylor! Love the videos
Same
I was going to but I was watching Cleet, can’t pass that man up especially at WCF
@ I watched his video before, can’t wait to see how much faster eagle gets with a new gear set!
wifi connected light switches would be an awesome addition. not have to go down from the loft to turn on/off lights
I would pull the chair closest to the ledge over towards the stairs some so the angle to the tv isnt so awkward. Looks sick otherwise!
If you put a bar up there, everyone will be up in the loft, lol! Love the shop videos.
