@maekklyn answered later in the streets? that sounds like you live in the ghetto, did you go to school on skid row? It's a sport, you deal with it on the ice.
@@alexyerkey3141 That's a mix, lol. I played minor hockey 30-40 years ago. The definition of dirty has changed a lot since then. And that's a good thing. It felt like everyone one the ice was trying to hit you, but I don't ever really remember the dirty stuff that goes on today. Blatant elbows to the head, for example. I'm sure it happened, but it wasn't as common as you'd think.
Hard to judge that are charge because One we don't know how far he came two he lead shoulder to the chest, he didn't target the head. I see no penalty here
XB - 09SI - Port Credit SS (2272), well that wouldn’t be good, because then it would become a matter of each individual ref’s opinion. Only specific rule violations should result in penalties. If people don’t want big hits, then there shouldn’t be hitting in hockey. If there’s hitting, people should expect there to be big hits. You know what I mean?
I’m 51 played Left Wing from 6 - 18 for two and prep school .... only concussion I ever got was when I chased a frog across the road at age 5 and broadsided ( I hit it not it hit me ) a Mercedes .
We got charging, charging/boarding (pick your poison), ehh, maybe interference, doesn't really look like buddy has control of the puck, (same clip) easy clipping/tripping penalty, clean hit, charging again, boarding/CFB (can't tell where he hits him), charge and cfb at the same time, CFB, CFB, would technically be a charge under new hockey canada rules, and we end off with a solid clean check.
I like that they have pushed hitting to bantams, I will say that coaches need to teach players how to take a hit over how to hit, only injuries I ever got was from being hit in risky situations that I did not practice against. Perfect example here would be skate into the boards at an angle until players are comfortable keeping head up with puck. Can’t get good if recovering from injuries. God bless hockey fam
I've always found the American minor hockey leagues for house, triple A to be absolute shit. The house leagues in Canada have players that would make A2-A1 in America. It's ridiculous.
1:50 you dont shoulder people into the boards in this situation, you shove their hips upwards, you can still knock them off their feet but it shouldnt injure them. Your trying to get the puck not break his neck 😂😂
1:50 "if he charges him I swear" huhhhh??? I think a player that plays for a high school knows damn well he'll be kicked off the team if he charges him at that speed, it's some what the other kids fault for stopping and getting in front of him. So lady you might need to think a lil bit
The first hit was not clean. One of the worst cheap shots I have seen. He had him lined up and cracked him. There was no reason for that, he mishandled the puck for a moment and got creamed. You don't crash down like that unless the guy who did it was skating full tilt.
Wrong. Clean(ish,) hit. Could have been better if he used his shoulder. Keep your head up. It's better they learn what to do and what not to do at a young age before the speed and strength of the opponents increases.
So sad. I know some of these are obviously emotional, dumb, heat of the moment reactionary hits. But some are just unfortunate. Not all of these are anyone's fault.
And this is what happens when kids dont take hitting clinics as well as bad coaching lol. First hit was amazing. Also they really need to learn how to play the sport
And when they take hitting out of house leauge and lower levels of rep so when those kids try to play/try out/get called up to higher levels they get destroyed
@@whosflair3716 KIds should be introduced to hitting at around the age of 11-12 before shit can get really dangerous. I played mainly house and B, and you need to learn how to take a hit and skate with stability, otherwise you're going to get destroyed or hit into the boards at weird angles.

Puckman637, he took more than 3 strides before making the hit, so that is definitely a charge.

1:55 to avoid that tipe of hit, go along the boards, dont cut in like he did. The boards will help you, but they can also hurt you.
Vule Basovic smart
Yeah. Boards hurt less to get hit against cause they’re designed to absorb shock
I normally hit kids aghast the boards so they don’t get hurt
Even though sometimes they still get hurt...
should I trust someone who can’t spell type
Broke my collar bone bc of the boards
