Master Common Plant Names And Care Tips + Singapore Plant Prices At Far East flora

- I’m in Singapore at Far East Flora, a huge garden center with tons of affordable and beautiful houseplants across many genera. I regularly cover rare plants on my channel, but I actually love common plants as much.
The garden center has helpfully labeled their plant IDs, providing ample opportunities to learn about different plant species. We don’t like to talk about plant price much on this channel, but I make an exception to this episode because I wanted to understand how much Singaporeans are spending on their greenery. I was pleasantly surprised to see how affordable houseplants are in Singapore. Do comment down below if you agree?
I share my own experience caring for some of these plants and speculates on the care of others I have not yet had the chance to look after. I invite viewers to share their knowledge and tips in the comment section.
It's important to note that this video is not sponsored. I stopped by the store with no warning or appointment, but was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff.
Be warned, this video may cause impulse purchases as myself couldn't resist buying some plants during the editing process.

It’s refreshing to see a plant seller who labels the plants with not just the prices, but the plants botanical names. The prices are reasonable & affordable; thanks for sharing Sean!
Thanks for coming along! Happy to share
Your tone is pleasant and easy on the ear, with perfect pronunciation and diction. Its a pleasure and fortune to have you here in Singapore for I am not sure anyone would find the time and easy to understand introduction and presentation succinctly. Thank you for bringing Singapore and Indonesia closer through plants by your effort. All the best and Good Luck.
Wow you have a way with words. Thank you
The Heuchera at 7:00 timestamp is a popular outdoor hardy shade plant in USA, at least in the Northeast. The selections feature a large variety of patterns and colors. Called coral bells, some or all have small flowers rising on thin stems above the foliage. At a nursery, I confessed my failure to pull through the winter any Heuchera planted in the ground, and the associate said he hears a lot of similar comments, but they do well in pots where drainage is better.
Interesting, thanks for the share. I wonder if they can survive in the everlasting hot and humid climate of south east asia…
I have had great success with Coral Bells in Indiana. They don't die out or lose their color over the winter. Mine are in mostly shade.
I like that you inject humour in your commentary by using such a word as "indestructible" a hardy plant 😀👍👍👍👏👏👏
😀😀
Your vlog is informative with an interesting narrative on plant type, identifying and showing the tag on detail and price on the pot. Also, you touched adequately on whether the plant is rare or common and the degree of care required and propagation. Very encouraging for new plant lovers as well as existing hobbyists. Do share more videos on your venture and your journey in bringing greenery to homes, garden, and cities which helps to reduce pollution, clean up the air we breathe, and importantly a love for NATURE. I wish you continued success in your GREEN endeavor.
Thank you, your words are incredibly kind and empowers me to do more. ❤️
Am totally enjoying this tour am in love i just love plants want them all 🤭
Thank you
Thanks for the tour! All the plants are so gorgeous ❤

Wow! Amazing plants but also crazy prices on some of those. Their peperomias are all perfectly priced though 😮 also super cheap Hoya. Only $5 when I normally see them for around $20.
Yeahh some are more but some are less. But Im surprised that Indonesia prices are similar to this.
I want me one of those crinkled plants with the leaves Sean! Very unique ☘️🪴🌱
Thanks Sean, good prices for Singapore. New Zealand plant prices are higher but getting better. Black ZZ was $149 before and now $49, I didn’t buy, I like the green zz better.
Interesting share, thank you. I try to collect every ZZ plant I can get. They are beautiful classics
Such a lovely video. This might be a common plants tour but some of these plants are not easy to find where I live, so rarity is really relative to where you live
Yes it is! Which makes it interesting
Love watching you in your plant travels!!! So relaxing... I must admit I feel like going to the greenhouse today!!! ❤

After all this time, I had to smile that your experience with different types of plants is exactly the same.as.mine. when you were talking about the fittonia and the marantha, I blurted out the exact same words you uttered a.split second later. 😅
Haha I think its undeniable what their characteristics are, even in many peoples hands
@onlyplants Yes, they are such prissy princesses! Then again, maybe they're just bipolar. Lol
You should head over to World Farm the next time you're in Singapore

I know, I wish they kept them as sansevierias. Its much more befitting

You said the treubii moonlight grows slowly? Waha mine is on a south facing window sill that just grows like crazt tho. But then the leaves are smaller. But yeah, the treubii moonlight and dark form just grows so fast for me. My silver satin is a slow grower though 😅
Yeahhh its so slow compared to other scindapsus 😅
elatostema lineolatum or pelionia repens?
Pelonia sounds right too… 😅

Are the prices in usd? Prices in the Philippines have gone down significantly. Like the clusia youve shown that was 150 usd, i've seen one in shoppee for 5usd, but ofcourse its smaller.
Price on the screen is USD, but price that I read out is off the label which is in SGD.
Can you bring them in a plane?
If you dont get caught you can lol
Good afternoon .. please tell me you sell them?

The zenzi zz price whaaat that's way too much. Got mine during the pandemic for 2500PHP (around 44USD) and they're way cheaper now
Yeahhh a lesson taught to us not to be impulsive lol. I bought mine for a lot of money too 🥲
I dislike about far east flora
