- Starfish is a German shepherd puppy who was born with swimmer's syndrome - she lay flat like a pancake and vets said she'd never walk. But she really wanted to keep up with her family, so she worked SO hard and taught herself to run!

Elizabeth Culver Edwards - Yes, instead of half of them turning to drinking , drugs or getting into trouble when there down, depressed or whatever. A Fog would drastically change most kids lives and show them responsibility and help out millions of dogs world wide !

Don't always trust a vet's diagnosis. Mine had heart failure and the vets said she don't have that much time. 6 years later she's still with me ❤

This video made me cry. The daughter loves this dog so much. She is really a great person. This dog has a much better quality of life now.
Starfish's story reminds me of "It Mattered to that one" story.
An old man walks along a beach and sees a young boy throwing something into the water. As he approaches, he sees hundreds of starfish lining the beach, washed in from the tide. The young boy is rushing around, throwing the starfish back into the water one by one. The old man asks why he bothers, it’s pointless. There are too many starfish to help them all. As he flings a starfish deep into the water, the young boy replies, “It mattered to that one.” Thank you to Maggie and her family. It matters to your Starfish. You have given her a blessed life.

German Shepherds are literally my heaven. It’s my dream dog to have, and seeing her breakthrough something like this made my heart light up
Same, my husband and I we want one but we don't want to buy a dog, we want rescued a puppy and in this country only sell German Shepherd illegally

Yes! They should be proud. I’m part of the generation that grew up with the first introduction to the internet and social media. I experienced the before and after during my formative years. Soooo many school-aged kids today have known nothing beyond the likes of the plastic Kardashians, plastic Instagram Kardashian wannabes, and Jake Paul. 😱 It’s really quite terrifying and horribly sad. Today’s generations and future generations need more people like this daughter - we need more kind, empathetic/sympathetic, genuine souls.

This young lady is amazing and probably an incredible person right now. I am so touched by how mature and responsible she was and is with Starfish. Of course, dogs are so incredibly resilient they really face obstacles with the grace I wish I had. I think both Maggie and Starfish succeeded because of mutual love and respect. They were going to put down my cat due to a brain infection before I got her. Luckily, the person we adopted her from found her and was able to find a surgeon to help. Her eye was removed but she is such a happy, sweet, loving, funny, silly cat! We love her so much.

Its a fucking dog mate, they are thrilled to pieces smelling buttholes all day. What I learned was that if you're loved just for being you and given excellent healthcare things turn out pretty well. Now if only everyone was treated so well then maybe the world wouldn't be so shitty.
I've watched a lot of dog rescue recoveries and I have to say this one was especially inspirational. Thank you so much for not giving up on her. If more people were like you, this world would be a better place.
