I'm kinda tired of the "Boks didn't play well" narrative from SA fans. We fielded 51 different players this year, had so many different combinations and have started the building phase between WCs better than ever before. We played all the top teams with the exception of France and every team we have played against during this team stood up. Yes we could have done better, but Wales also defended much better in the 2nd half than they have all year. We've had comfortable wins against most opposition, only lost two games, each by a single point and when those same teams we beat played agsint each other, the games were much closer than the games we had agsint them. SA is in a GREAT place right now, how many other international teams could do what we have done this year in terms of experimentation and still be as successful as we have?
Agreed. Playing well doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll win. France and NZ played better than SA in the RWC 2023. SA won the quarters, semis and final by 1 point each. The difference in tournaments is found in the squad depth. Losing your starter means your backups are very close to the level of your starter so hardly any drop in quality. SA may never dominate like NZ did because the differences between teams now vs then is a lot closer. You have to respect every team because they can beat you on their day.
That's the scary thing, Boks have just been experimenting the whole year with different styles and players so nobody would expected perfect performances Wait until they settle on their next squad and zone into a specific game plan

Great season for the Boks! As a Bok supporter Ive loved seeing the evolution and growth of this team. Winning consistently, yes. What i found interesting from the Boks in this one was the lack of tactical kicking. We had a few contestable box kicks, a few cross field kicks, chips and kick passes, but a noticeable lack of tactical kicking. Even when Handre came on at 12. Boks ran the ball a lot in this one. Maybe it had something to do with Jordan playing 10, but i wonder if the plan wasn't maybe to give the running game a real test, practice a few things in a test match environment. Hell, we even tried to run it from behind our own goal line, albeit on penalty advantage. Bok fans have been frustrated by the teams performance this autumn series, but i think once all the testing is done we're gonna come right at the right time at the end of 2026. We just need to be a bit patient, and happy with the wins in the meantime
Very happy with SA's performance. I think Wales played much better than expected and hats of to them. This Springbok team is soooo special and we have to aplaude them for a Beautiful performance throughout the year!
Went to Cardiff for the gane tonight. I am a bok, married to a welsh girl. She still loves me. Cardiff is always a great place to watch rugby. You have to hand it to the Welsh. Their support for their team is unwavering. Until we meet again 🤝
Great tour for the boks… it felt like that game showed the Welsh have spirit and a young talented team that just need time. Thanks for the vid as always.👏
Some moments of brilliance so there’s some to be happy about. My highlite was Thomas du Toit putting in a Bath performance, continuing on from Scotland 💪
From a Bok Supporter, I feel like Wales played really really well with this game compared to how they've recently been playing, but, the Bokke played INCREDIBLY subpar compared to how they play normally and made a huge amount of mistakes and left easily 20-30+ points out on the field. I'm happy the Boks won, but not happy with how they won and how much they honestly decided to just not put in the effort they could have. Still though, the Welsh players were dangerous around the ruck with how many balls they stole there, and they put in a monumental effort against the boks and even managed to get two tries, which is extremely impressive despite the Boks not putting in the effort they could or should have.
Apart from the Springboks' improvement on the attacking game, what really stood out for me in this game is the Welsh fighting spirit. Those boys just don't lie down. Very impressive. I just hope Warren Gatland stays on as coach. I don't think any other top coach knows the Welsh rugby culture well enough to make the kind of difference needed.
This is the only rugby channel I watch for obvious reason. Happy with the win, and I dont care what people say - the Boks are great of this is a building phase. Can we just agree, if they get any better it will be insane
Really proud of the boys despite the hammering and also I'd really like to thanks the SA fans, Coach and players and especially King Siya for their grace and kind words. It's hard to be a Wales fan right now but I have belief that they will get better and they will return to form
As a SA fan....for years I've turned the volume up on my TV when the Welsh anthem is sung. For me the best sung anthem in the world. Apart from the Haka its the best thing in rugby.
Was at the match. Great atmosphere! There were so many points left out there. Quite a few handling errors. The wlesh to their credit defended well. The boks were hammering them. A pleasure to watch Eben, and Arendse score right in fromt of us. But yes the boks were good but maybe only 3rd gear. I look forward to the 25 season !
I’ll say this. The welsh just got a first class exercise in tackling. Beware world this young team will find their rhythm and then they will be great again. As a Saffa I didn’t particularly enjoy this game but all credit to the Bokke. They are in a good place to be playing in 3rd gear and winning games.
The scary thing about this team is that in all 3 NH games the Boks never really got out of 3rd gear but never looked like losing any of the games. Just make you think if they play their A game and fire on all cylinders any opposition will be in serious trouble.
It’s been a year now with Tonyball. I understand that a team can’t change direction on a dime and I also understand that you can’t rotate 50 players over a tour and expect consistency, but I don’t know yet if Tonyball has been either solidly embraced (I mean I do know that, the team will be fully behind it) but not sure they’ve been able to do what Brown probably has been aiming for yet. There’s so much time before the next worldcup and I expect season two will be more settled, selection more consistent and player understanding of what Brown wants to be better. So to summarize, you just can’t fault this team for winning. But it does feel like we’re beginning to repeat “and they can still get better and improve on aspects” quite often.
Wales held the ball up twice really well and hung in there as best they could. Getting that try at the end really helped sweeten that lose. SA really looked like they lacked directness after half time.
Not our best performance, but 7 tries is always welcome. I was mightily impressed with Lake, he gave it his all and he’ll make the plane to Aus for the Lions. And the ref has been the best this whole autumn series!
Wales played with heart and dedication. Respect. SA had moments, and our depth is both our strength and weakness - it makes us messy. Uncomfortably so.
spoke to the lad, erliiar , up in the the pool. 'Harrys's a bit broken', welsh 62 back row, one of the few still in it, I'm hoping will get the lad back in. Rugby without wales does not make sense.
Welsh boys showed guts and grit today, for such a young team there is great potential building towards 2027, they need to build and hone those skills. not easy going up against a seasoned team that's well-conditioned and has been at it for almost 8 years. Keep growing and adapting in Welsh rugby, team may be young and have a few caps now but by 2027 I have no doubt Wales will have a seasoned team that knows their opposition and can play to their strengths.Every team needs to rebuild at some time or another, this is Wales' rebuild.
You're right Tim. And Wales scored their points in red time of both halves but it wasn't a mauling because Wales were brave. They did themselves proud. Boys never kicked in across the tour but still came through again. What is it?
Wales showed great courage and determination. I am happy they got those tries. The Boks were ok with moments of real class, but I felt frustrated that they lost concentration at times.
All teams go through a lean time at some stage, but give them time. They will pull it back. Patience by the Welsh supporters needed. The Boks proved they are currently the best.
Respect to the Welsh in this one. They came in like warriors, true. Like no one told them that they had no chance. They had fight, and that's the highest form of respect youncqn show to a Bok team. They didn't break like I thought they would. They stayed on their feet. Yes, the Boks thrashed em, but anyone who says that Wales is irredeemably terrible, either didn't actually watch the game, or they don't know much about the game. The side is young (like crazy young). They have potential and will grow from this given the chance. Well played
Fair play to Wales, tough day at the office. They looked like breath mints in that kit. Boks started well but left too much out there for the taking. Definitely on the rise though as a formidable team. Very happy with their year👊🏻🇿🇦
Exactly as you said, happy with the win, happy we ended the tour unbeaten for once. But I was hoping for a better performance from the Boks. Too many mistakes, too many points left today. We just not firing on all the cylinders for some reason.

I feel for the Welsh boys...they clearly gave it their all. They will be all the better for it.
Really proud of the boys despite the hammering and also I'd really like to thanks the SA fans, Coach and players and especially King Siya for their grace and kind words. It's hard to be a Wales fan right now but I have belief that they will get better and they will return to form
Well done Timmo. Happy to see your channel grow. Hope we see back in the South soon.
Cheer Tim. Thanks 4 everything. Tot weer siens😊.
Will miss you during the off season thank you for quality commentary
We will put out the perfect games in next World Cup Tim! I feel blessed to be alive!
As a SA fan....for years I've turned the volume up on my TV when the Welsh anthem is sung. For me the best sung anthem in the world. Apart from the Haka its the best thing in rugby.
It was so good to see Mostert in his groove again. What a man
Was at the match.
Good assessment. Wales will be SORE tomorrow. They've earned a lie in.
On the wales kit: My husband kept saying “we could be playing Italy because I look at them and feel like ordering a pizza” 😂
😂😂
Rugby is life!
Not our best performance, but 7 tries is always welcome. I was mightily impressed with Lake, he gave it his all and he’ll make the plane to Aus for the Lions. And the ref has been the best this whole autumn series!
Our performance was sub par for the number 1 team in the world… there are standards that have to be met being the number 1 side in the world 😒
You don’t need to win world cups to be number 1 side so we haven’t met that standard.
SA should have been playing Ireland and France in the Autumn series
Wales played with heart and dedication. Respect.
SA had moments, and our depth is both our strength and weakness - it makes us messy. Uncomfortably so.
Springboks missed at least three tries and still scored seven. How good is that. 👏🏼
In afrikaans, we have a word for stubborn, but a bit more so. Its bedonderd. The stubbornness to keep fighting a losing battle.
Love it!
i think you are absolutely 100% correct on both sides
Expected more from the boys.
spoke to the lad, erliiar , up in the the pool. 'Harrys's a bit broken', welsh 62 back row, one of the few still in it, I'm hoping will get the lad back in. Rugby without wales does not make sense.
Hats off for all of the players.
Excellent year for the Springboks.
What is incredible is that the fans always support wales . .. respect
Kwaai
Well played
Well done Wales, this is just a learning curve boys
The way boks played as a team today was so impressive. Was really happy to see it
It was like South Africa was not really trying...
Fair play to Wales, tough day at the office. They looked like breath mints in that kit. Boks started well but left too much out there for the taking. Definitely on the rise though as a formidable team. Very happy with their year👊🏻🇿🇦
"breath mints" 😂😂😂
The way I’m laughing at the candy cane comment 😂😂 It made me feel uncomfortable 😂
BOKKE 🇿🇦🇿🇦
Flower of Scotland for me.
When the bagpipes stop and it's just the crowd singing.
Exactly as you said, happy with the win, happy we ended the tour unbeaten for once. But I was hoping for a better performance from the Boks. Too many mistakes, too many points left today. We just not firing on all the cylinders for some reason.
The kit they wearing and the pictures shown in this game all world Class 🎉
