Hi Trevor and Pat - I Never Get Bored of Your Lovely Chats - Ive Been away This Weekend and Im Catching Up With Your Videos Ive Missed - You Never Run out of Things To Say - Its So Nice Just To Listen - Thank You X
I love watching Ernie,in this weeks take a break magazine there is a story about a giant tortoise who will weigh 10 stone eventually and could live to be 150 years old,I never knew about giant tortoises, little Ernie must look tiny beside him, love your stories, love wendy
Thanks for sharing that fascinating info about giant tortoises, Wendy! It's amazing how nature works. Ernie might feel like a little speedster next to that giant!
I really enjoyed this vid. I love hearing about your past. It’s all so interesting. What a lovely story, I remember reading about it in your book, all those years together when you had so many doubters and not a very supportive family on Pat’s side. It must have been so difficult for you both. Such a happy outcome though ❤xx
Even my parents were opposed to us getting married, especially since I caused my parents so much anxiety when i was young. Our longevity is all down to Pat, she is the stable and sensible influence. I am the unguided missile.
@@trevorpat-lifeontherun It’s hard to comprehend Pat leaving home to follow you to Germany, she was very brave. Not all of us have great relationships with our mother, so can understand that side of things. Sounds like you were the best thing that could have happened for Pat, did you ever see/ meet Pat’s Dad? x
Pat was brave, but she needed to escape from her situation. I did meet Pat's dad, and we got on very well, he wanted us to get married and for Pat to come with me.
Lovely listening to you both reminiscing about your wedding day. I think when listening to you both it takes me back to my past and I think of my parents and how they struggled back in the 60’s and 70’s. They are both gone now, but never far from my thoughts❤
I truly appreciate your comment. It means a lot to hear how our story resonates with your memories of your parents. They certainly had their own incredible journey! People called it the swinging sixties, but it was tough as well.
Great video. You just gave a memory and it was lovely I used to go to my grandma's and help her, once a month we would clean all her metals, like my uncles trophy's, he won a lot of trophy's and medals in a cricket team, also we would do the best cutlery all with brasso, love the smell of that. Everyday in the week was a day for doing a chore and I helped her. Xx
Hi Trevor and Pat please tell us more of your life stories they are really interesting and also entertaining. You are both really funny and down to earth 💙from Sheffield.
My dad who was born and bred in Halifax said "causy edge" when referring to the pavement! You have given me a lovely memory of him and my mum...dad was a proper gentleman and always made mum or me (daughter) walk on the inside of the causy edge...as a proper gent should do!
That's such a beautiful memory! It’s lovely to hear how your dad embodied the spirit of a true gentleman. Thank you for sharing that with us! I was walking up to Farsley recently and a young couple were walking the other way side by side, and they never moved, and I had to step off the pavement. How different things are.
That was a lovely little video 😊 it’s nice to reminisce about days gone by. Sadly both my parents are no longer with us but loved to hear about my dad’s older army days when we lived in Germany ❤❤
What a lovely little video - the good old days! Pat, you really were a child bride, like you I would love to know how the vicar got around that hurdle !!
Lovely chat reminiscing about your early married life, more of the same please I love listening to you. I didn't realise till I got older, the sort of questions I should have been asking to find out about my grandparents, too late now, the only link was my dad who sadly passed away last year aged 95.
My Mum and Dad got married young too and stayed together forever. I told you it is Mums birthday on Monday 13th it is also her younger sisters birthday ( still alive) on same date. Hope you both have a great day
Hahaha Trevor you robbed the cradle, lol, marrying Pat at 16. I was married in October 1967 when I was 18, and people thought that was young, lol. Of course I was very small and only looked like a twelve yr old. Anyway we are of a similar age, so I relate to you and enjoy listening to your stories. It’s like years ago listening to neighbors or family members. I had 2 sons, how many children did you have?
I am glad the vicar sorted it out for you!! Not many get married now, just live together, such a different world to how it was when we were youngsters. See you tomorrow, bye!
I loved hearing about your life. It was so interesting. Please tell us more. Wow. You were so young Pat. But when you find the right one why wait. I met my husband at 16 nearly 17. Married at 19. That feels so young to me but hey. We are still happily married. My husband is 76 and still working. A state pension isn’t enough to live off is it 🤪
It sounds like you found the secret to longevity in marriage-marrying young and keeping your husband out of retirement! I am amazed your husband can still work at 76, what does he do? But I agree, you can't live on a state pension, that's why we sold up to live in a camper.
Pat and I have something in common. I was married at 16 too. I've never regretted it. We've been together 43 years and still in love like you two are. Enjoyed your wedding story. Glad the vicar found a way to marry you on the day. I giggled when Pat said don't curse. 😊
Wow, that’s amazing! 43 years is such a beautiful milestone. It’s great to hear that you and Pat share a similar journey. Thank you for sharing your story with us! Oh yes Carole, I am supposed to remain calm in the most distressing circumstances.
chamomile or calamine ?.....lotion..... When my kids were small we used Calamine lotion to ease the itching of chicken pox spots or insect bites. Happy Anniversary to you two lovebirds... Grandma seems to have been quite a character.
Have to say you picked very interesting houses .You live with a river alongside you.The underside of pavement is curved hollow archway .You must pay a lot of Insurance.Very interesting life you could never say that you were bored.sx
This is Traceys house Susan, we no longer own a house, the motorhome was our house really. It's a canal that runs alongside this house, and we personally don't have any insurance. No, we have never been bored Susan. Xxx
Oh heck! Hope you're both legal 😂 That was the problem back then if you were underage... I was seventeen when I married my first husband... unfortunately it didn't last, unlike yours. I would love to see your wedding photos? Please don't say you didn't have any. Have a wonderful day on your anniversary, not many couples have the good fortune to make it... hope you're doing something special? All the best to you both 🥂🎉🥳🎂xxx
Oh yes, were all legal Mary, we'v had our ears tagged and all our injections😁 I showed a wedding photo recently, but just for you I will show it again. We are going out for a meal with family next Friday to celebrate.
What a scary start to your marriage! Glad you made it to the Church on time, Trevor! Happy Anniversary. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful story.
Oh, you could cut the atmosphere with a knife at our wedding, but I didn't care, I got my girl, and held on to her.

Oh tell me about it. I still have nightmares about travelling and never getting there!
Love your wedding story. Happy anniversary xx
Thank you Karen. xx
Love listening to your stories so interesting 😊xx
Thank you Leonie. xx
I do remember that story Trevor…… I can imagine how stressed you would have been….great to here about early life x
Stress levels off the scale Betty. I hope we didn't bore you re-telling the story, but there's a lot of new followers on the channel. Xx
Such an interesting tale you tell. Things were so different then. Take care !
I'm glad you found it interesting! It's fascinating to reflect on how much things have changed over the years. Take care too!

Great memory Yvonne. Pat knows all about cleaning brasses.
Hi Trevor and Pat, lovely to hear about your past. Good to see you both looking well 😊. Take care xxxxxx. Chris and Dave from Yorkshire

Memories are like fine wine-they get better with age, but can also leave us a little tipsy with nostalgia! Cheers to your dad's adventures!
What a lovely little video - the good old days! Pat, you really were a child bride, like you I would love to know how the vicar got around that hurdle !!
Thanks! It was great looking back at those moments. And seriously, how did that vicar pull it off?!
Lovely chat reminiscing about your early married life, more of the same please I love listening to you. At least you have a wealth of wisdom from your dad to carry on the tradition. Keep the curiosity alive! Your dad lived to a good old age Pauline.
@trevorpat-lifeontherun He did. The trouble is that he was our last link to the family so I doubt we will find anything else, quite sad really.
Where did Trevor get his zipped fleeces?
Kids department at M&S. 14 year olds!
Well thank goodness the vicar got round that problem, and here you are now 😊
Yes, we are so thankful to that vicar. We wanted to thank him and let him know that his trust in us was not in vain.

@ he runs an electrical calibration and training business. Drives all over the country too. He is a hard worker but enjoys it 👍👍
my birthday is the day after pat

Sorry, it's Calamine lotion.
Pat's grandma was a very hard working lady who brought up four children on her own when her husband died in his 30s
My mum put calamine lotion on our chicken pox to stop us kids scratching ourselves sillier lol x
Same with us when we were kids Toni.
You need to get a sundry they are great for keeping you warm, they are from primark £20.00 very thick and warm ❤❤
A sundry? Are we talking about a fancy blanket or a new fashion trend? Either way, I'm all in for staying warm!
@ They are snoozythey are a like a dressing gown . But you pull them over your head .
Oh, we bought Alethia one for Christmas, didn't know it was called that.😂

My little joke Trevor... it must have been stressful at the time, but everything turned out fine in the end 😊
In old Lincolnshire dialect a path was called a caursy corzee how ever it was spelt so corser edged seems to fit in somehow. Just saying
That's an interesting observation! Language and dialects have such a fascinating way of evolving over time. Thanks for sharing that!
A person doesn’t need a water break in the winter for sure. Boy true love prevailed and the marriage happened after all that. Take care.
Many houses in Rodley have low water pressure now.
I was a very determined bloke back then.
