    Hello. Can one instead pump directly from the river using water pump into the drip lines and install a disc filter at the suction instead of using the raised tank or gravity?

      YES, it's possible. If you can ensure filtration is done right. The filter will affect the pump performance. + You will also have to balance the number of beds to be irrigated at a given time(i.e match the flow rate of the pump to number of beds, to operate at reasonable pressure). Fix the discfilter on the mailine leading to drips Not at the suction end. You can buy recommended filter to fix at the suction side. Also consider the cost the cost of fuel (I'm Assuming the pump isn't electric)
