    We have Tonewinner, IOTAVX, and Emotiva processors each under $1500. Emotiva coming in at $999. Which one would you want to see a review on first? Michael had bad experiences with room correction from Emotiva, EMO-Q, have they upgraded it? Would the room correction from the other two be any better? You get a few less channels with the Emotiva, would that matter to you?

    My guys!! I have this on order, I am very excited and I think this processor fills a big hole in home AV. I will put out a review on the MC-1 when I get it. I’ve tried to call the live show to tell y’all but couldn’t get through. Joe!! Please have me on the show!! Love y’all’s work!!

    I think it’s a fantastic option at that price for someone to get into pre pros . We need more companies doing this to keep this awesome hobby alive .

    It's Friday fellas and the first snow storm in my city. I live in New York City where the infamous shoot out was held in midtown Manhattan. Channa D was the star of the show lol along with FOMO and the rest of the great guys. So long for now enjoy your weekend fellas and be safe out there.

    I disagree with Joe when he said a "fair test" would be to run them both in "direct" for comparison. Wouldn't you want to compare their processing (for theater)? Isn't that one of the hypothetical improvements when choosing separates; the processing? The processing is better because that is all the unit is designed to do. Maybe compare them in "direct" if you were performing a 2 speaker stereo test.?

      A direct mode comparison will reveal which unit has higher quality power delivery and preamp sections.

    I recently grabbed a Denon 4700h for the pre out, knowing I'm going to add external amplification soon. After that, I'm interested in trying out multiple dedicated processors. I want to hear if there is a noticeable difference.

    Need to get a mc1... Have amps that are save with my speakers, can't risk using receiver amps.

    So I came from a long line of Sound United products and have been using MultiEQ-X for quite sometime now but recently picked up an Emo MC1. While the EMO Q is absolutely awful, I generate PEQ filters in REW and than manually input them into the Emo with solid results. For $870 out the door (military discount) there isn’t a cheaper way to go full 7.4.6. While there’s only 5 bands for the sub PEQ my MiniDSP HD takes care of that

    If you wanna go big !!!, I think way to go in 2022 is IOTAVX AVX17 AVR + DDRC-88A(x2) + Monoprice M8250x(x2) , this is gonna be the hit, key is pre-pro can be swapped…keep the rest intact! This is balanced setup as well. No measurements for any of these, Amps have since they are hypex ncore.

    The Basx Mc1 has changed my life. I now have a 7.2.4 system. Two basx amps, a two channel Parasound for left right. Great atmos, but the surprise is the music. Don't know the Dac but most if my digital music goes through this thing now. A home run really. For 999$

      Hey. 9.2.4 or 7.2.6? Which is better?

    • @musicman8270
      @musicman8270 Год назад +1

      @@josealfredfernandes The basics mc1 has provisions for two wide channels on the bed layer, making for 9.2.4 system. I just didn't see the need and really didn't have the space for them. Six channels for Atmos is probably better than four, but four serves me fine. I would get at least four Atmos channels. And I've had 7.1 or 7.2 bed channels for years. Don't see how people with 5 channel's and subs get by without those back channels

    I have an excess of 6,8, and 12 channel power amps. A cheap processor doing the basics is perfect for my master bedroom. My lanai / pool surround system. And maybe even my family room. And then get higher end for the theater/media room.
    For the good room you can get a nice 5-10k or more processor But the market doesn’t have any $1k-1500 entry level processors /separates. These fit nicely.

    It makes no sense that manufacturers are charging so much for a trimmed down AVR. No, sound quality is purely subjective so that's not a good argument. There's no reason why they can't just produce pre-amp only versions of their powered AVRs. Pre-amplification isn't a new technology and every AVR is already doing it internally anyway.

      @loveleo2006 Год назад +1

      same, Emotiva MC-1 is doing what we want, but base on it's performance, still overpriced. I will happy to pay 700usd for a pre-amp XLR only Denon X3700h

    My IOTAVX AVX17 is on the way. I have no experience with separates or room correction. I have other products from IOTAVX, so I'm confident that it's going to be an enjoyable and exciting journey. I doubt my "theater" will make use of all 17 channels, but we'll see.

    • @JonathanDFielding

      Cancel it! get the ToneWinner instead from Summit HiFi - ToneWinner is the OEM of all of them - they designed it. the only difference is a 4th sub channel - and zones. the ToneWinner AT-300 is $1400 and you get all but sub 2&3 XLR outputs. the extra $600 for the IOTAVX isn't worth it IMHO. I have the Emotiva and I bought the TW AT-300 for $400 more and will be returning the Emotiva.
