I need advice, I just fed my incalf heifers close to 10 backets of feeds with an average of 10kgs per backet, what could be wrong with them coz they seem to be always hungry and that is becoming unsustainable for me
@unavoidable254 mix half by half of each. Feeding capacity depend on cow status.look for maintainable, growth, production and reproduction. Sorry my English is poor based I am from Tz
If it's freshly cut napier, wither before chopping to lower the water content thus increasing the dry matter content. Cows feed on dry matter basis, the lower the dry matter the more the animal will consume and vice versa.
Io hesabu inaingiana kweli? 25L-5L=20L÷2=10L For 10L u give 10kg of meal @32 per kilo= kshs 320 not 132 Then kshs 300 for labour Total labour+meal =kshs 620 Total milk sale =25L×40=1000 Profit 380 Ama nko jaba😅
Not 10L .After dividing 20 for 2 the 10 you get is concentrate.that is what recommended, but don't give cow that much at once. Divide in 3 potions. Mean morning afternoon and evening
You're correct, but if one is capable, the best thing is to start with like 5 or more cows to break even, he also forgot to deduct the silage or normal feeds if I got him right

Give them more of dryfeed like hay than green feed
@@wangu.jackline6763 thanks, I have a question, how many kgs of both dry and green do you feed, per day
@unavoidable254 mix half by half of each. Feeding capacity depend on cow status.look for maintainable, growth, production and reproduction. Sorry my English is poor based I am from Tz
@ezekielshija9251 Thanks, brother. I appreciate it a lot, I have seen some changes once I concentrate on feeding them dry foods such as napier silage
If it's freshly cut napier, wither before chopping to lower the water content thus increasing the dry matter content. Cows feed on dry matter basis, the lower the dry matter the more the animal will consume and vice versa.
