Love seeing these old videos. Reminds me of my youth
Weird that Dave would build a new Nite Life truck using an already outdated leaf spring setup, rather than building an actual racing truck. This is why it's still hard to feel sorry for BF8 and Equalizer's competitors. Guys like Scott Stephens and Everett Jasmer were seemingly rebuilding their trucks on a weekly basis without changing their designs at all. Stubborn and stupid is what I would call this considering it would have been easy to upgrade their trucks while they already had them torn down (not to mention USA-1 #3 was and is STILL sitting in the USA-1 shop unfinished, surely it would have been just as easy to finish that truck than to rebuild #2 over and over).
Scott Stephens was just a cry baby who couldn't handle losing and I think Jasmer got cocky. In any case both of them eventually faded in to obscurity for their failure to adapt to the inevitable direction the sport was going.
Might've been out-of-budget for a lot of the privateer guys. If they didn't already have decent sponsorships maybe they couldn't afford CAD / CRAY II computer time to draft a new 4-link + cantilever + tube chassis, all new fiberglass, and yet another build mid-season. Scott in particular had no excuse, that guy hoovered up sponsorships like he was in NASCAR
This was a wild slobberknocker throwdown and thanks for posting this awesome action, man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dave Wieczorek and the brand new Night Life III! I can’t wait to see him tear it up at the TNT: Unfinished Business event! Still unreal that this is actually a thing
saw the video yesterday, dave was exctied and the truck looked great as a square body chevy
I love the old commercials
Is it scary to see Scott Douglass look so young here?
thank you for this
I believe if David Morris had not walked away from the Equalizer, TNT wouldn't have banned Bigfoot 8. Equalizer was plenty good enough to give Bigfoot 8 a run for the title. But when Morris left the team and Cook brought in Holbrook they thought Bigfoot 8 was gonna run away with the show. Me personally I would have let Bigfoot 8 run through the season. When they went outdoors it was clear the 8 wasn't dialed in just yet. Dallas would have been tricky with the 3 truck format and with 8 never having run a figure 8 yet. Would have been a curve.
27:10 "I dont care for that new Truck. I don't think he should be here" And they call Millennials snowflakes....
Scott Stephens was such a crybaby. So what if Bigfoot didn't run that much with TNT. They were still running the trucks with other promoters. I don't recall the guys on the USHRA series whining about the Taurus racer.
@@waynenorbreyjr9371 yeah sissy stuff.
Scott Stephens was so butthurt about Bigfoot its almost laughable
Those front axles broke a lot back then didn't they?
9:10 looks like USA-1 rolled over, recently. Crumpled cab and a new door. Any idea what event that happened during?
Should have been the flip in Roanoke VA.
Going on what Jeff said. I think the truck rolled 8 times (not exaggerated) that year.
Yep, the truck was in tatters the following weekend in Salt Lake City (non-televised but Tommie Lewis uploaded both nights on YT), but it looks like they were able to piece together enough of the body to make it presentable for this show.
Which race was the first race for Bigfoot 8 on the TNT Points Series? Was it Memphis, TN?
For the 1990 season, yes. It had previously run a few 1989 events, somewhere between the end of September-December.

I remember see a glimpse of the truck in the Bigfoot Strikes Again VHS tape from back in the day. I do remember it debuting at the Indy Jamboree in September of 89.
Is this coliseum still around anymore?
Yes, it's still hanging around.
Yup going to monster jam next month
