Great video from an expert installer. The U-Haul location I had my hitch installed at said that I would have to have the wiring come out through the lift gate whenever I wanted to use it. They obviously wasn’t trained properly like you were.
Both are valid options to install. It is Customers choice where to route the Wires. As you can see here ruclips.net/video/3E_Wzbw28Cs/видео.htmlsi=V_40XnD3NMPVhSEo . Reach out to the Installing Hitch Center to schedule having the wires placed on a bracket.

Great job. You make it look easy. I watched the Etrailer video as well. He could learn from you how to do this. Just did mine. Took less than 30 minutes. A couple clips came off the upper panel. One I was able to get (red) it dropped up. The other went behind somewhere. I just hope it doesn't rattle around in there.
Thanks for this step by step guide! Also wouldn't be better to cut a slit in the rubber grommet then feed the wire through eleimating the potential for the wire insulators wearing down on the frame.
Well done! I noticed that there is no grounding connection on the Curt wiring harness. However, I am glad that it does not have this since getting access to the grounding point would have required the side panel to be removed. My hands are too big to get to that point by just bending tegh panel away, I actually had difficulty getting to the connector. What is missing from this install video is to ensure that wire does not rub against the burr on the edges of the punched holes. I have used some fusion tape for that purpose. Also, it does not tell you how to prevent the box from banging against the metal. The anti rattle and preventing of damage to the insulation precaution took the most time during my install.
4.38 To locate the plug out of the car after cutting the cables, you could pass thru rubber grommet. The humadity will apear in the boot because of you didn't put the rubber grommet back in place.
It would be good to show what you did to close the hole around the harness where it passes through the body. Can't leave that hole wide open with the harness chafing on the sheet metal edge. Did you cut a slit in the rubber grommet and feed the cut end of the harness through it and then apply some silicone sealant around the harness where it passes through?
Our aplogies. During our Early days of filming some stuff was unfilmed or edited out. Your Description is exactly how we route the wires through the vehicle body!
I would. You really should disconnect your battery any time you do anything electrical-related just to make sure you don't accidentally short anything or injure yourself.
1st deals told me relay module. Today they added engine harness is now also needed. I bought this new off lot Aug 2019. I understand I have warranty but this extremely frustrating.!!!!
You can definitely do that! At 4:21 she explains that you can leave it in the cargo area. Some people like to have their harness ready at all times next to their hitch so we wanted to show how to get it there.
@@aaronlimon4803 When watching her do the install, she made it look really easy. I really appreciate how the step by step instructions were shown. I would personally keep it inside but I see how some want it outside for easy access. Good job. Thanks for posting.
Excellent video and very impressed with step by step instructions. Made it look really easy. Thanks for posting.
Great job Frisky!
I’ve seen two of your videos. You’re really good.
Well done! Very clear, practiced, and professional.
Thank you very much!

Awesome video! I wish the Uhaul here could do my installation if everyone is as competent as this.
They will be able to! Visit Uhaulhitches.com to schedule an installation.

Great instructional video
Great video, I did this in about 45min. I got the panel removal tools before trying this for about 8$.
Excellent!
This is a great and informative video. You did a really good job of the presentation.
Glad you liked it!

GREAT POINT.
Agreed. I would do that.
The 2024 model (and possibly others) requires a 20 amp fuse under the dashboard on vehicle drivers side. Thank me later..
That’s what I was thinking but the hardness already comes with a fuse ..
Some Models may have the fuses already installed. Follow the supplied directions to check your tow package fuse locations.
Thank you
On 2024 we found the 20amp fuse location will be spot 17
Thank you well done looks very well done

Mine came with double sided tape to secure it behind the panel. The Etrailer video shows this.
Very helpful. Nice video.

Great video, no need to add fuse in the box compartment from Honda up in front ?

My 2017 Honda CRV does not have that plug :(
THANKS. can this be done to a 2020 CR-V touring hybrid?
Im pretty sure you can, should be the same.
@@Ecobeast559 I found out I can't. the hybrid is not rated for towing.
@@KevinP32270and reason it’s not rated is because there’s no way to fit wiring harness, meaning trailer cannot be tagged.
neat
would like to see wiring for 2019 honda passport please.
Now how do you do it on. 2022 Hybrid?
Here is out 2022 video!

I would have use shrink wiring wrap instead of electrical tape
So do that then
Why not just leave it inside where it wont be exposed to the weather

Exactly what I was about to point out... keep the splices inside to avoid the elements
@@jacksoncontreras2096 will the fuse just go in one way or does it matter?
