After owning a 2004 Z06/Z16 for 7 years, I think they are one of the best bang-for-buck cars ever. I never got the column lock problem. I sold mine for a 2009 Z06, which is a fantastic car, but I still miss my C5 Z16.
FM engine helps but the rear mounted transaxle makes a big difference too. You have to pay lot of money for a GTD if you want that setup with a Mustang ;)
@@NavsGarage My point is it's one of the biggest differentiating features that Ford highlights on the Mumtimatic built Mustang GTD. Or you can get a $20k Corvette that is also a V8 transaxle, definitely the cheapest transaxle car that has modern performance. Let me know if you want to learn more about transaxle cars historic and modern, happy to fill you in
I dont own a Z06, But i drive an LS1 powered Trans Am and its my baby. Long live the LS1.
This is my first LS I have owned, I am selling this but I would love to get another LS and do mods I this car is too clean for me lol
@@NavsGarage Thats super fair, Got mine at 85K miles so I plan to let the mods loose fs. Good luck with selling yours tho man, should go quick.
Hopefully I had a few people but I have to put the lmc5 in it to fix the steering column lock. Otherwise it may have been sold

The cars probably had the recall done like my car the recall starts to fail which is has been doing in mine.
Before I watch the video.. the answer is YES
*totally unbiased, I swear*
Great video. Just one little thing. 2001 Z06s were rated at 385 horsepower. Not 395.
Ah yah my bad i thought i messed that up lol.

Transaxle definitely helps. But the gtd is a completely different story. Mustang weren’t made for that set up can’t really compare them that way.

@@Rockit181 I mean I understand what you mean but the GTD is a small production road race car. Corvette is defiantly a great car for the price.
