I do wanna shout out about the new events - most of them had the option to outright buy fighters with their event currency and by doing this, I was able to get roster complete (besides Beetlejuice) way easier

You can match in like 5 seconds on any platform if you keep crossplay on. (No real reason to turn it off anyway). I think the game probably averages around 10-20k players at any given time, being conservative. It could easily be bigger, but just assuming, xbox, steam, epic, and playstation are all the same number, then 10-20k is a decent guess.

Season 2 felt a lot better than season 1. Rifts season 1 I played daily for the entire season for the gems and still didn’t even hit level 8 for most gems. Agent smith event was a bust, had a friend who spent $20 on upgrading gems and helped me get smith from it. Balance patches seem to be helping some. FFA was a terrible edition that they make you play weekly for your weekly challenges. 9 out of 10 games has a person just trying to “play” the 10 games. IE; get hit once and KO themselves. Missing any event is very punishing if you want to do future events. In game currency is a joke, have a shit ton of perk currency but there’s not enough perks in game to outweigh the massive amount of perk currency you get. Lack of fighter currency. You’re lucky to get 2 character a season and the 6K price tag on new fighters, I feel is pretty dumb to have as they just want you to spend the $5-10 to just buy them. Rifts season 2 was fun, very do-able on all difficulties minus the looney version where you need to bring a friend. Should be dropping more characters with the properties they have, instead we’re getting Nubia mid season for powerpuff season. Questionable decisions for roster.
It's astounding that there are still so many game studios, AAA studios especially that even with the ability to get on the internet and see what their audience is looking for entirely miss the mark almost every time lately and just cannot seem to do anything worthwhile
Rifts still suck, and the lying of characters coming out like I’m not glossing over it again. But I do gotta admit the competitive starting to get better. The rank actually starting to become healthier a bit, I’m still getting lagged spiked to death and losing my rank because of that. The only way I can rank is not caring about reaching the top. Oh and I stopped playing Splatoon 3 online in months. I got too busy. Oh yea who ever promoted rift mode needs a kick in the balls.
why do you hate rifts? We used to get a free character from them with better rewards and because people complained it got dummed down to a simpler version and yes I understand once you hit "looney" it can be very difficult but this game a decent enough community that would be willing to help you if you needed it.

I’ll be honest I prefered it when you could do the events entirely through challenges becatse sometimes you just get a bad string or it’s only available through looney difficulty let it be sone through either just playing or just events and let the players mix to their preference
Unironically I think FFA is the best mode I usually despise multiple opponents (never hives with 2V2) but for sone reason multiverse made it my prefered gamemode and I can’t tell if it’s because it uses the chaos as a crutch or I just don’t think the traditional modes work for me
Only real problem is the battlepass its wayy too many things you cant unlock without it & adding new characters you cant use until you either buy the battlepass or wait until the battlepass is over & earn the currency to get the character ,this is the most irritating thing ive ever had especially when fighter currency is a month of playing to unlock one character but nobody wants to play against a character they cant freely unlock until its been nerfed to hell & the battlepass is over thts a big damn issue when nothing else is being put into this game like better modes or different style maps literally nothing is getting better

the original plan was for every IP added to have 2 characters cuz the game was balanced around Duos, this was ditched pretty early but still made some IPs have 2 caricters when they should have only had one (Rick and Morty & Steven Universe)
Funny how we have opposite opinions on Rifts vs Online. Rifts are the only fun part of the game for me (until the stupid difficulty spikes), and I'd rather never touch online, especially ranked.

fun and silliness are not words i'd use to describe rifts. I wanted mvs to succed but the grind predatory and events broke me mid season 2
