Thanks for making this video. It was great to hear about another person's real experience optimizing antenna positioning/placement and what you have gone through establishing a network around your area. Your insight gave me a lot to think about for my own setup. I'm definitely curious to hear what hurdles you overcome with the project as it continues!
Thanks for your support, wolfbane8290!

Good stuff.... especially about the antennas. I have ordered 2 of the 8dbi rak ones they will be within a km of each other, I think it may be overkill after watching this. Next closest one is 20 km away, flat and clear. It seems like I would see the further one easier. I guess experimenting is part of the fun.
Oh ya-
#11....when's my miner going to arrive?
LOL!!! Great question #11, Mr. Pinkett. From what I hear.... Next Week! But I bet I get the same answer the following week. 😬

Great FAQ! This brings more questions. For instance, who uses the RF from the Helium network? Are there apps? Devices?
Thank you Jean, I appreciate your support.
-Hg
So for your faq #3 i believe it is due to the different scales on the grid system. You are following the guidelines for a smaller scale but if you look at higher scales then you (like you said) are getting your pay scale decreased due to other areas larger concentrations
It makes sense, Cody. But it doesn't make it any better, in my case.
Thanks for taking the time to share your info.
-Hg
Man so many more in our area now since you made this..not sure if I should jump in now..
I don't think that you will make 'a crazy sum of money,' but I'm pretty sure that you will make your roi within a year. From then on... Who knows??
-Hg
What would you say is the max range on the standard antenna from what you’re seeing?I guess my second question would be,how much do you think trees play a role in blocking the signals?
Trees definitely play a role. The goal is to have as clear a line of sight as possible.
That being said, the max range varies greatly depending on your height, line of site, area and even the weather.
-Hg
Hi. Thank you for the video. Question: can one mobile application (wallet) be used for multiple accounts?
Glad that I could help!
Yes, you can definitely add multiple hotspots to the same wallet. That is what I do.
-Hg
So based on the answer about buying and selling, you can confirm you are able to exchange HNT for USD? I have been thinking about getting into Helium but want to make sure I can do something with the rewards.
Absolutely, Tim. There are a few exchanges that handle $HNT at the moment, depending on where you live.
-Hg
Man, you have nice voice
Thank you very much!
I've been told that I have a voice for radio.... But also, a face for radio. 😅
I appreciate your kind words. 🍻
-Hg
What happens if the hotspot losses power? Possibly due to a power outage or even gets unplugged accidentally
Hello Thomas, it should go right back to doing it's job once it is powered back up. It will pick up where it left off.
-Hg
Thanks for making this video. Long shot but if you have a miner for sale, let me know. I'm just a town over at Rahway (and I go to Carteret Car Wash 😂). Mine won't get here until September (if that).
Hello Angelito,
I wish that I could say yes. But I'm also playing the waiting game.
Thank you for the positive feedback.
Keep me posted as to when yours arrive.
-Hg
@@NTCReviews yessir, I will! I ordered two (should've ordered at least two more) but I plan to add one at my place here and at another house in Linden about 2km from me.
Very cool! Sounds like you are building a nice little network for yourself.
Good luck and enjoy your weekend! 🍻
-Hg
@@NTCReviews I'm hoping to be able to connect to the other online hotspot in Rahway and the one in Linden as well as yours in Carteret so we can all make some more of that $$$. Enjoy yours too!
Sure hope so and thank you. 💪

You seem like a great dude. I'm a bit north at the last exit 172. I can pretty much throw a rock into NY. I don't seem to have any spots near me but six miles away in Spring valley/ Nanuet area there seems to be a bunch. Do you think that antenna could reach that far? Thanks man liked and sub!
Hello RC, if you ask my wife... I'm definitely Not That Great. ;-)
The key with witnessing is consistency, that is what we are aiming for. With higher gain antennas, you will make contacts with further hotspots but the reward scale is usually low. In addition, it will most likely, not be consistent.
Keep in mind the network is growing daily. What you see today on the coverage map will not be what you see a week or 2 from now.
-Hg
Do you think is good idea to create like a corporation or LLC in case you you have like a fleet oF 12 hotspot also for taxes deductions?(paying for internet of hosts, also hotspots themselves )
It's all about liability, ANIBAL. If you want less of it, it is certainly worth the expense of opening an LLC. I would certainly talk to an accountant or CPA to get better advice; but it is certainly what I have done. Then again, I live in New Jersey where just being a resident, makes you liable for just about everything. 😂
-Hg
@@NTCReviews Really appreciate your feedback was feeling a little strange didn’t hear nobody talking about this specially in today ‘s world. But really appreciate and I feel much better thinking that is not just me thinking about liability. Good luck.👍
Glad that I could help; good luck my friend!
-Hg
So many hotspots near me. But no witnesses!
What is your setup, Arjun? Do you have an external antenna?
-Hg
Great video! I have a question: Can i use and US915 miner in another zone? For example: buy an US915 and use this in Australia (AU915). It could connect to the others AU915 spots? Thank you!
Thank you, Rafael!
As far as utilizing the US915 in Australia, I'm really not sure. I would rather you get that info from the HS manufacturers so that I do not give you false info.
-Hg
@@NTCReviews thank you
You are very welcome.
Good luck and please share your findings on here. It will help others in the future.
-Hg
Great video!! How do you pay taxes on your earnings!!!!!!
Thanks Michael!
Do you happen to work for the IRS?
Earnings, what earnings? 😉
-Hg
@@NTCReviews lol loan it out😁
If your not using your antennas would you be interested in selling them?
They are always being rotated as I add hotspots.
-Hg
@@NTCReviews 10 4 Thank you for the quick response. I now have 73 on the way and know I will need them on several of my applications
Wow, very cool!
Good luck Kevin and keep me posted on your progress.
-Hg
Can scale get impaced by downtime of the router? (Because antenna change ect.)
Hello rogerhole10, I added a 3rd HS last week and as soon as it was synced, it had the same, lower, reward scale as my other 2.
I like the way that you think, though. 🍻
-Hg
@@NTCReviews maby you know by now but if not. You can check you reward scale in your region on hotspotrf.com
Cheers!
Thanks for the info. I do have them linked on my Helium post on my website.
But their info really changes nothing. I'm still at a low reward scale while following Helium's guidelines 100%. It's tough to have control of your own street, imagine a region.
-Hg
Are you able to post a link where you bought the 10dbi antenna?

Does setting up a miner at a location permanently lock that location to the miner? Say I want to use my friends house, but in the future he wants his own. Is he okay to set up his own if I move mine out? Or will helium think there's two there even with mine inactive?
Also, is the reward scale permanent? Say I set mine up and its .5 or .75 etc, if I move it to another location that has the potential to be 1.0, will my score change?
Hello Jake, you are able to change locations with your miner. You will just need to pay a nominal fee to assert a new location.
Your new location will then have it's own reward scale. Depending on the location, it may go higher or lower or possibly even stay the same. You can check on the coverage map to get an idea of what the new reward scale would be.
-Hg
@@NTCReviews thanks very much for the info I appreciate it a lot! I’m wondering, right now I’m in a well populated area with a good amount of miners around me but will be moving to an area with none. If I set up 5 hotspots of my own, will they each generate roughly the same amount? For instance, if I had 1 of my own connecting to 4 others that different people owned, would that be the same per miner if I had all 5 of them belong to me? Or does having multiple hotspots all belong to you impact your reward? Like since they all belong to me, they won’t generate as much as it would if only one was mine?
Hello Jake, you will make more if you own the actual hotspots. Not only will you earn HNT by witnessing but you will also earn by being the one sending the beacon.
That being said, the majority of the rewards come from witnessing, whether they are your hotspots or belong to others.
You are welcome and I hope that helps.
-Hg
HNT I'm in
Me too!

Great content my mate. Totally enjoying your videos. I have just started my own channel that aims to focus on AU915 region, I would love to have you on a future call....🇦🇺🇦🇺
Thank you, I appreciate your feedback!
Good luck with your channel and keep me posted.
-Hg
LOL 420 perfect number, I agree...
😎
-Hg
Turns out flat fee or paying someone’s internet isn’t a good idea after going from 15k units to 115k now and then halving. I went from 100s of hnt a month each unit to just a few hnt the last couple months.
The halving definitely put a damper on our earnings. But hopefully, it will pay off for us in the long-run.
-Hg
I like money
Me too!
-Hg
We are practically neighbors, I have five Bobcat 300s on their way. Are you open to coordinating?
Hello Raymond and thanks for the offer. I am focusing on other areas and even building out different countries.
Stay in touch and keep me posted. Things change daily as you can tell. Let's see where we are at in our area when your miners arrive.
Thanks again! 🍻
-Hg
@@NTCReviews Absolutely, I am in Woodbridge south west of your location. I am planning on filling in several holes in our area including the hex furthest east of you (with an antenna on a commercial building). The idea was to see if I could pick up the Staten Island hotspots in addition to the ones in our area.
Sounds like a great plan!
-Hg
HNT is the future
I'm with you, Adriana!
-Hg
By the time anyone can get one of these at this point the show is going to be over. It'll be halved, the rewards instead of being divided up with the 30,000 it'll be divided up with the 300,000 that's going to be installed in the next few months. So that alone you're talkin 1/10 of what people are making now and then half of that which is 1/20 of what people are making now
I agree with you, Com. But, it all depends on the $HNT price. Every coin/token has gone through a similar growth process. As you can tell, they are all still happily mining those same tokens, years later, around the world. It's all about the price. We shall see.
-Hg
I think you are loosing because there are not as many devices using helium network or hotspots?
I was referring to witnessing and challenges to earn HNT. Devices on the network do provide HNT rewards via the data credits but they have not been a big factor as of yet. But... Hopefully soon, they will be.
How is it going for you?
-Hg
@@NTCReviews Umm i have not gotten my hub yet which is on the way and still researching all the info to understand the process so thanks for the great video, very helpful
Thank you, I appreciate your support!
Good luck and I wish you the best. 💪
-Hg
This not true, price of coin don't halv from $18down to $9..thats not how it works...it goes up in price because supply is lesss..right now 5Mil can be mined every month..till.....August 1st comes and then it drops down to 2.5 mil that will be able to be mined per month...but also people in less dense areas make more and people in more rural areas gain less do to more miners around so they make more...Hope this helps
That's not what I said at all, Ron. I gave an analogy utilizing the share price as an example.
-Hg
Not Worth it for me.There's only 1 more hotspot in my town and it's 5 miles away and seing your rewards i won't be earning a lot.
I can make much more money just crypto trading right now.Maybe if a few more hotspots pop up closer to me then i'll buy one.
I understand your thinking, Filip. But there are over 300k hotspots on backorder. What you see today in your area, will be very different 3 months from now.
Just something to think about. And trading; another good viable option.
Good luck. 🍻
-Hg
FAQ #1 Want to build a world wide network using Hotspots that no one can deliver in any less than 6 months from the time you place the order. Epic fail.
If you look at the Helium coverage map, their goal is happening with or without you and I.
Not ideal for us but... their mission is getting accomplished. They definitely aren't failing; those of us late to the game, are.
