    It's sad that there seems to be a lot of treatment centres in the Uk and the US but very few if any in Canada. What treatment we do have is so expensive and widespread that it is mostly inaccessible. I got my diagnosis and then was really left hanging.

    This was very helpful in understanding a disorder that my girlfriend’s 15 y/o daughter is going through right now. The lack of answers has been the greatest challenge of in their ability to deal with it. Thanks again

    Still, the reference to”These Patients” throughout this talk is at the heart of the problem, a stigma, a slight, can patients with FND not be referred to as “patients“? The doctor, a leader in his field is setting the tone.

    Thank you for a very informative talk. I lost my ability to walk soon after my 1st Astra-zen jab over two years ago and have been diagnosed finally with FND. If this untested vax is a contributory factor sadly the world is going to see a huge spike in this debilitating condition.

      ... He was actually talking about the NOCEBO EFFECT in relation to the covid vaccines. This literally meant that no medical adverse side effects were observed. This is literally evidencing that being 'informed' about potential negative side effects explained their adverse anecdotes, not that the vaccines themselves actually did any damage whatsoever. Pay attention.
      You do realise that FNDs are 'functional' disorders, in the sense that there's no structural damage or disease underlying their symptoms. Structural disorders, like MS, cause literal.damage to body structures, such as the brain and spinal cord.
      The fact that you have FND means that there's no medical/structural cause underlying your symptoms. On scan, there'd be no abnormalities, no biomarkers, no literal signs of damage or disease - because it is FUNCTIONAL.
      Covid vaccines did not do this, please for the love of whatever, drop the anti-vax crap.

    Again very limited açess to centers and professionals capable of diagnosing and treating those with abnormal brain connectivity, much professional ignorance about these conditions , but many persons suffering in limbo

    Have the numbers of cases increased in recent years?

    • @lindasmith8771
      @lindasmith8771 29 дней назад

      I do believe they have increased if you look to cases with a myriad of symptoms. With the information there does not need to be abnormal scan results and greater examples of abnormalities shown on computers I fear the Medics are feeding into the psyche of patients with what Freud considered Conversion Disorder.
      I believe symptoms are real but are they from real mental illness or real neurological illness and this is the problem. Sadly many patients are not receiving an appropriate explanation or treatment programme and far too many believe Conversion Disorder now called fnd is a lifelong illness but this is not always the case.

    Good explanation. But what to do? I had a stroke in BG. Then FND hit me hard. Everyone sees only the stroke.
