    Yes the bull is huge but that's nothing compared to the smile your talk with kids at the end gave me. So happy you guys chose to raise your kids yourself and not let some corrupt teachers union raise them. My kids were in 4th and 2nd grade when covid hit. We never sent them back, they learn school lessons till lunch, then they are on the farm till super. Real learning takes place in person, in nature, doing something that will provide for you, till the day you can no longer do it yourself. Congrats Lee and Tiffany, you're one of the few, raising the next generation of leaders

    Intentionally avoided clicking this vid since it popped into my feed because I knew what this was.. for whatever reason I clicked it today and 30 seconds in confirmed what I already knew. For those of us who live up here in the Yellowstone area know that Montana also does this with Bison. Rancher opens the gate and tells you which one to kill depending upon how much money you put down. No hate here. If that's your thing knock yourself out. There is, however, some disappointment just because the casual viewer clicking this is going to think this is elk hunting. This is elk harvesting. There's a huge difference. If you're after elk hunting vids go over and watch Jason Phelps in the Oregon mountains or Randy Newberg in the Idaho backcountry. Go watch those men and women with 7 to 14 day packs on purifying water in the creek just hoping to run into a herd. They will be "hunting."

      Ik wym man, the area he’s hunting is PACKED with bulls like that, buddy of mine was lucky enough to kill one before they made that private land you have to buy a tag for… so urban due to the fact that where he’s hunting is literally surrounded by 2 huge coal mines/towns… locals see this bull all the time, we just left him because he’s always by the coal mine😂😂 kinda like a work decoration. We knew someone killed him after the last week of September when he never showed again…

    @davidwebb8383 Месяц назад +7

    This particular ranch has a series of fences those do not get out of there without somebody paying a very stiff price. Bowl that public gland does not have a kind of rack like that. 13 year old doesn’t have anything or any other animal to have to defend himself against. This is a giant high fence Elk.

    • @adamdice231
      @adamdice231 Месяц назад +1

      Please don't put comments out there unless you know the whole truth. That ranch has typical barbed wire cattle fence. Elk can jump it like it is nothing. Just like deer do. That ranch also borders forest (public land). We'll see what this one scores, but the reigning Pope and Young typical bull was taken approximately 6 - 7 miles away from there on public land. It is an area of Montana that is starting to have some giant elk. It is also an area of Montana where they don't have a lot of natural predators. Part of the reason they get so big.

    Lee is a tremendous shot but i will never be an advocate of those kind of shots on game I think a max of 40 yards should be the limit if you can't get them with in that range you shouldn't shoot

    • @moneyandtimefreedom3352
      @moneyandtimefreedom3352 Месяц назад +3

      @@PatrickBlack-q1n 40 yards with a bow is a max shot back in 1985( I know because that’s what equipment allowed) todays bows shoot smoother, faster, sights are precision, releases , laser, range finders, carbon fiber arrows, precision nocks, precision arrow building. All of this translates into better shooting at distance. Today for most archers their set up is like a scoped rifle. Then you add years of experience like Lee who practices year round shooting in ones yard and 3d archery etc all add up for ethical longer shots. It’s the same as back in the 50’s a lever action 30-30 with iron sights put a 100 yard shot about max for most shooters. Fast forward to today’s precision rifles even a moderately good rifle makes a 300-500 yard shot an average shot especially out west.
      I get it for someone out east a 40 yard shot with a bow might as well be a mile. Todays hunters out west because of todays better equipment easily shoot out to 70 yards with precision. My friends and I sight in at 35-40yards. My two daughters I limit them to 35 yards because of their skill and equipment. Yes there are some who should not shoot past 20 yards and there are plenty with rifles capable of 500 yrs shot but the hunter is not. The distance someone decides to shoot is up to them not the committee of they. Each person should know their max before they start to hunt. Sounds like you have yours, but yours or my capabilities doesn’t decide what someone else’s capabilities should be.
      Like you I have my opinion on what shot I’d take and look at a shot like this one Lee took but in the end it’s his hunt for good or bad. Most hunters I know have made the wrong decision or a poor shot because of adrenaline, weather, wanting to get the big one. All of these guys including myself have learned from those mistakes. Hunting will never be perfect, as it should be.

    • @PatrickBlack-q1n
      @PatrickBlack-q1n Месяц назад +1

      @moneyandtimefreedom3352 you are certainly entitled to your opinion right or wrong as I am with mine even with the new technology the bow is a close range hunting weapon i have hunted long enough to know better maybe someday you will too

      I'm not gloating about anything. But, I do not appreciate being told that I am jealous of anything these two have done. Yes, I am proud of all the success me and my buddies have had. We are not rich. Just blue collar guys that love to hunt. You are more than welcome to come join us. Won't cost you a dime. I would not trade a minute of all the great times we have had. So if I gloat a bit, so be it...

      I think Sheehy’s ranch is near Bozeman. I’m still voting for Sheehy. I dot care what he charges for an elk hunt. Don’t believe Tester’s ads anyone who has a large ranch with good elk hunting leases it out.

    Bro come on put a real Broadhead on the Arrow everybody knows there's been more game lost to damn gun range Broadhead and Mechanicals I'll just say it it ain't if it's when they fail and with a big ass single bevel Broadhead you ain't got to worry about that and I'm not seeing your arrows late 550 or 600 grains you can run a victory VAP Elite shaft 250 spine hunter green insert 150 grain head that's 250 up front and the arrow weighs 455 460 at 28 1/2 in straw for me so carbon to carbon is 26 and 13/16
