My favorite pick is Zach Frazier. I wanted this dude to be a Steeler. I think the entire draft looks good on paper. I appreciate Omar sticking to needs and No reaching
A-
Dude you're just reading stats
Frazier is an athlete
Champion wrestler
And that is why he looks like a ass hat half the time.
No point listening to him after he made this comment
159-2 🤼♂️ is really impressive record for Steelers new Center 💪 🖤💛
Pretty solid draft. A- overall. A+ for the offseason overall!
Somehow it took me this long to find this channel… great job breaking it down, earned my sub

D+ the highest grade for this garbage we call a great draft...how embarrassing
You know how Payton described getting Russ as "{winning the off-season?" You don't only grade a draft on the quality of prospects or how it makes you look better than last season, you also have to discuss fit & how this compares to teams you'll be playing.
You *_won't_*_ be playing_ last year's Steelers. Now let's point out something all you Steelers fans claim to believe. Your QB room sucked & was The Worst Thing about your team.
If so, then what is So Bad about the rest of the team? Not that much as a whole if they dragged those QBs, none of whom any of you want to see back to the playoffs. Did you lose players on the d-line, at LB, in the secondary, on the o-line? No?
Then those already had personnel to make a _worse team_ playoff-worthy?
So why were those areas targeted as a Higher Priority than WR in the draft? Why did they allow So Many WRs at the same level as Wilson fall?
If Pickens gets even a minor injury you're down to Wilson, Freiermouth & the Quez Watkins v. Van Jefferson shuffle of "which of those will opposing defenses allow to roam free more knowing neither one catches *uncontested catches* at a concerning rate nor gets much YAC even when uncovered?" By not getting receiving help they have neutralized receiver _AND_ their supposedly upgraded QB room. Only the Chargers now have a worse receiving corps.
Congratulations. Your receiving corps is worse than that of the *Patriots and Giants.* Good luck scoring points against the rest of the teams who upgraded too. Khan wasted assets on two proven nobodies then didn't have any to try for Diggs with. _THAT_ would have added about 35% to the offense.
A rookie will be lucky to play 35% of snaps. One injury away from disaster.
A all day just look and listen to these rookies demeanor and character ❤
Let’s freaking go! Go Steelers
HAIL YEAH!!!👍🏾
Oh so we could have got Van Pran as a center mmmmm…. Well other teams valued him as a 4th which is where he went
I genuinely look at our draft and see 5 starters.
3 of them are immediate starters in Troy, Zach and Roman at OT, WR, and C.
Mason McCormick can sit for a year and develop behind OG James Daniels and when he becomes a FA in 2025, Mason will be ready to be our starter at OG without us needing to spend big money on an OG.
Payton Wilson I’m hesitant on being a full time starter due to his injury history, but he completes our LB room and adds a pass coverage LB to a room that already has Queen, Holcomb and Roberts. If he can stay healthy I’ll trust him to be a starter since how good he is when healthy
5 starters ?? 2-3 at best, who do you see as “starters” in this draft class
Ya I’m not seeing why draft Payton ?? Probably could get him as a free agent with his medical. Bad pick 👎
@@scottdurkee9162 highly unlikely. Would’ve been gone early round 4. I don’t love the pick like how I do with all the others because of his injury history, but I cannot deny his talent when healthy and how he’s the best pass coverage LB in this draft class. He truly completes this LB room
@@scottdurkee9162 I see Zach Frazier and Troy Fautanu being day 1 starters and long term starters on the OL at OT and C.
WR Roman Wilson is our immediate WR2 who plays very similar to Diontae Johnson except Roman is faster and blocks way better than Diontae.
OG Mason McCormick for this season will be a backup OG to James Daniels, but is a starter at OG and will replace James Daniels in 2025 as James Daniels will be a FA then and it’ll be better not to pay him.
Payton Wilson is unpredictable given his huge injury history, but he is the best LB in the draft in pass protection and 100% completes this LB room. I’m more hesitant on him being a starter given his long injury history, but if he stays healthy he will be a future starter here.
My only disagreement relates to Roman Wilson. He has A++ potential. Like you, I was initially disappointed the Steelers didn't take Jalen McMillan at 84. But then I researched Roman. We made the right call. I predict Wilson will be the go-to third down conversion guy of our dreams. He's going to be open, like a Welker or Edelman. Russ and/or Justin is going to love him. Teams will have to scheme for him, leaving other guys free.
As an aside, isn't it ironic that all three Steeler adds for 2024 that have enormous "steal" potential are all named Wilson?
Well, not Russ. I mean, seriously; Do you really think that out of nothing but dislike Payton managed to convince someone to pay him 39 _million $_ to play elsewhere? If you want to know what factors led to them committing to this I can list some.
He led the league in passes behind the line of scrimmage *5 years straight.* This is why the Seahawks wouldn't agree to expend him. We have *actual footage of him looking at the ground in front of him between scanning the sidelines.* There isn't a QB in the world that can _survive in the NFL _*_doing_*_ this._ How long do you think it takes for the other team to notice this?
As a result he scans sometimes only one side then checks the ball behind the LOS. This means plays supposed to go 4+ yards often go 3 or less on 1st & 2nd down. So opposing defenses know it's a pass on 3rd down & that they don't have to protect the middle of the field.
He killed drives for two straight years & you guys still think you're getting the Russ he was *eight years* ago. Sheesh.
Sorry, but all the opinions on both 'new' QBs are So Uninformed it's just all worthless. Hurts was in the MVP discussion in '22, right? With the best o-line in the league & a top-5 WR duo he tossed all of five more TDs than Fields.
Did _Fields have_ any of those things? Did he have _any_ thing? His top 2 WRs are incapable of catching passes that land on them, let alone hit them in the hands. & we have footage of Kmet doing the same thing even this past year. His o-line commits the kind of plays worse than ones that get players released, allowing pass rushers through ruclips.net/video/FiiK21VzI_o/видео.html *completely untouched several times a game!*
But the Bears don't release _those_ players. They also don't keep the plays that made them the #1 offense in the league 3 weeks in a row (before they acquired D.J. Moore), or speak to the QB about his publicly expressed concerns, or take him into concussion protocol when he exhibited new behavior on the field that made him look concussed or drugged. In other words, intentionally or not, his employer HC & GM treated him like absolute garbage & called plays that sabotaged everything good he'd proven he could do for them & despite all this he kept pace with an MVP candidate.
_He's_ the potentially élite QB. Go watch even reels of his INTs or incompletions. Except on plays where he's forced to throw when backed up into his own end zone & his coaches call for all receivers to go right behind the D-line so he either has to throw the ball to hang 10 yards in the air or try to zing it past them, most of even his INTs hit their targets, most times in the hands. Even Aaron Rodgers isn't that accurate that consistently!
He makes them the #1 offense for 3 straight weeks with zero support from players & coaches, the Bears lose all those games & people look at that & say "he can't win." Well, yeah, that's right. He only plays QB. He *literally can't* possibly win_ against Impossible Standards.
I'll keep my comment short... I had noticed and had similar thoughts about the trio of Wilson's.
@@choosecarefully408 All valid and informed points. I watched the video you linked. Makes you feel for Justin Fields. Seems the Oline and receivers didn't understand the call in many cases. As a Steelers fan of course I am routing for both Russ and Justin to play their absolute best, and I am hoping Arthur Smith's schemes bring out the best in them. Time will tell. On the Sean Payton point, I can only think that Payton determined he simply couldn't work with Russ... whether Russ couldn't or wouldn't take his direction, who knows. My hope is Russ sees the 2024 season as his revenge/vindication tour to show Payton and the naysayers how wrong they were to lose faith.
Final thought...I also see for some how Russ can be an acquired taste. He is not the typical mold of a Steeler's QB. But he is a better leader than what we've had recently. And he's a family man. There is a buzz about the team this year that has been lacking for a long time. And he is part of that.
@@alansutton3718 Thanks. I should clarify though that despite what most people come to social media fro,I'm all harsh analysis. I had a job where I could hire kids as young as 12 to do flyer routes (with parental supervision of course) & have had to fire kids that young. So I'm not afraid to call out NFL coaches.
You're right, Payton couldn't stand Russ. That's not enough for someone other than Payton to okay kissing that much $ away on him. Those stats I quoted are real & they kill drives. Even Broncos fans had to admit to themselves that all his TDs 1) required highlight-reel sideline catches & 2) were off of TOs by his defense on the other side of the field. As for him being a leader, well again, no. That's not what his teammates say. & seeing footage of him ignoring his teammates on the sidelines supports their case.
As for Fields, those o-linesmen aren't missing their calls. Remember the kerfuffle Mac Jones caused by going outside the Pats to get help? Okay now let's take Bill Bellichick out of the equation. *EVERYONE was okay with Jones* trying to get help he couldn't get *from Matt Patricia,* right? So how we view the HC changes how we perceive things.
So let's shift what Fields had with _his_ HC like that. Imagine Justin Herbert or Trevor Lawrence stating publicly that their own coaches were confusing them. Would the fans & media dismiss _that_ as a non-issue?
What would people think of an HC who refused to respond to even a back-up Jets QB with such concerns? If the QB is a star, they *have* to respond. If they're Boyle on the Jets everyone would know that they were on the way out because the HC refused to care enough to even reply. The first time Fields spoke out about this was mid-'22.
He's had to play under an HC that black-listed him for over a year and a half. Now, what makes you think that an HC hating on his QB so publicly was going out of his way to get o-linesmen to care for the QB he showed them he himself wants out?
Their "confusing him" resulted from plays called that they clearly showed were being executed properly *when he didn't throw to open receivers.* So the HC publicly shows he wants him gone, calls the o-line off protecting him, cancels the plays that made them the #1 offense in the league & intentionally removed receivers from receiving contention.
You think those things "just happened" _despite_ good coaching? Right under the HC's nose? & this competent HC couldn't see it even without his own QB publicly calling it out?
The O-line got addressed that's an A+ i like the kid from Michigan gritty hard player the rest of the guys we'll see how that shapes up but overall i give it an A- covered our needs in the trenches and i think we will be a more solid team this season. Not expecting SB yet, but we are on our way Go Steelers
The Same Height and Weight as AB
You really even gonna say this rookies name in the same sentence with AB? come on now. .
Signed beanie bishop jr from wv could compete in the slot and rb edwards from Georgia feels like next udfa rb to be a solid contributor
Zach Frazier's wrestling background means something to me. Wrestlers tend to win clinches, period
Yes if holding was legal. Lol. Just kidn. I think it helps them to know how to pos their body for blocks. Totally agree.
These 2 look like fuckin bosses up there together!! Dynamic duo, real partners.
I'm convinced Omar K has made a deal with the devil. This draft was perfect 😳
I GIVE THEY'RE DRAFT A+++

Thomas Davis was an all pro LB with no ACL. If you dont have an ACl, it's one less injury to worry about. You can't tear something you dont have. Hopefully he stays healthy and adds a little weight to deal with blockers more. He usually beats peole with speed to the spot...NFL has different athletes. Another great draft.
They are happy with Spencer Anderson they are building both them to take the guard spots next year

Thank goodness for Omar I Rate the Steeler Draft a B.
It's ashame we had to go heavy on OL because of recent draft busts by Tomlin & Colbert. We still need a starting Corner other than Joey and a # 1or 2 Receiver to compliment Pickens
I'd have liked Kalen King over Watts
Really like this draft didn't think the center would be there in 2nd round and Wilson in 3rd was a steal.
Best draft we've had since 2023.
😅😅😂😂😅
😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
B+ Grade. First 3 picks gets A+, but then taking Wilson(LB) and McCormick(OL) and not a DB like Tampa out of Indiana Univ. or other possible starters. There was decent DB’s still on board. Instead of drafting backups.
All the corners on the board would have been back ups as well, you don’t get shut down elite corners in the 3rd or 4th. 😂🤡
Grade the Steelers draft class: A, B, C, D, or F?

I have a warm and fuzzy about the 2024 Draft Big Body Wrestlers on the line!..👍🏽 Here We Go Steelers, Here We Go!..🖤💛💙🏈❤💨💨✌🏽
I hate people saying roman is too small to play outside receiver. Dionte is 5'10 185lbs. Roman is 5'11 195. Plent of size.
All hail the Kahn Artist!!
Anyone notice 49ers go hard on Wr I believe a trade will be coming debo as number 2 and Wilson as slot and it makes a genius move. And add a decent corner Russell Wilson will have a complete team. Zero excuses to get us a win in playoffs.
A good tackle, 2 potential centers, and a get open wr.
Low A or maybe a high B
Roman Wilson- 6’ 192lbs
Antonio Brown- 5’10”
185 lbs.
Yeah, smaller guys can play outside receiver just fine with the right skill sets. After all, Brown was one of the best, most dangerous receivers in NFL history for a time. We will see about Roman.
Interestingly I looked up the average height of NFL players and for WR it said the average height was 6’ tall.
A+
Mike Tomlin and Ohmar Khan have both reportedly met in person with Cam Sutton. The missing piece. Might get him at a good price..
Payton is going to be a Hall of Famer
Zach Frazier Selected By Pittsburgh Steelers With #51 In 2nd Round Of 2024 NFL Draft: ruclips.net/video/uuKdTGpkmWk/видео.html
No you leave it open postion battle if ANYTHING for jones troy and moore and whoever is better at whatever spot thats where they go
Zach A+ arguably 5he best pick we had😂
I give it a B-. Cooper Dejean was taken at #40. Rolled the dice and lost. When he didn't go round 1, should have traded up. Still need a corner and missed the mark. I like the OL, hope they gel and work well start of the season.
We need OLine more than we needed Dejean. DeJean cant even play man coverage he is a zone corner....He dont fit a 3 4.....gotta understand scheme
He’s a right tackle!!! I’m tired of every casual who says he’s a LT. he was a LT for a Left handed QB!!
What does that have to do with anything. It’s muscle memory clown. It’s about the opening kick step and hand usage so yeah he is a left tackle
Huh? LT/RT has 0 to do with what hand the QB throws with. It's what side of the center you line up on, his left or his right. WTH are you even talking about?
A right handed QB can have a blind spot on their left side.Ergo,LT is more important. They are pointing out the fact that the situation is reveresed with a left handed qb
Let's not forget the QB before penix was a mighty, sooooo, he was a blindside tackle then.
exactly, bunch of non football playing idiots!!!
Why didn’t we get a CB
Troy Franklin is right there after taking the ot and oc. And we take regular smegular Roman Wilson over top 5 production and measurables. We could have gotten Jeremiah trotter and grabbed a much higher rated corner. I'm confused but whatever
theres a reason why Franklin went that late, the steelers have never had issues grabbing a WR. We can question them on anything else but WR. They find solid dudes in every draft
@@malcolmreid2135 I'll give you that.
last man in da draft .pour soul .he HOF
the black and yellow
I think that if Mims fell to them they would probably have taken AD Mitchell in round 2 and Van pran in round 4 or 5. Was almost certain they want to recreate that Georgia Bulldog Oline.

We already have one immature WR on this team and you’re disappointed we didn’t add another?
How has football changed. You have one lineman at 6'3" and 317 lbs. and another at 6'2" and 315 lbs and they are considered small. Mike Webster was 6'2" and 255 lbs. and Tunch Ilkin was 6'3" and 263 lbs. Size is important but doesn't matter as much as wanting to play.
Good round 4 CB that can play in 2024? Cap space baby!
I'm still a big AB guy and Roman Wilson screams AB if you look at his height/weight
I'd say this draft clas is a "B"
B+ didn't like Lee over Rice. How do you pass up a guy with 45 receptions for 791yds and 12 tds his senior year
What about passing up on a guy who had 83 receptions with 1387 yards and 14 touchdowns in Troy Franklin for Roman Wilson. Because Wilson's 10 pounds heavier? SMH
@@psychandson6337 That's my point. Rice had the same stats his senior yr as Wilson but they chose Lee over him in the 6th
* on top of that, why only 1 receiver? The rest of this team dragged that QB room to the playoffs. Then they traded 1 of only 2 receivers that was above the practice-squad level.
Unless Roman Wilson is Nacua's second coming, Pickens & Freiermouth are gonna be covered by the upgrades made by _other_ teams.
They got Queen added to an already strong LB room then drafted more LB, got CB in a trade then drafted CB. Traded away 25% pr more receiving production, _maybe_ replaced it but sure af didn't *add to* it neutralizing the passing game & the new QB room as well. None of these other draftees are going to help them pass the ball down the field.
They actually went backwards in the passing game.
@@choosecarefully408 All teams will do is stack the box and force the Steelers to beat them with the pass.
@@byronnelson7580 Well if every team did what the other team wanted 100% of the time every game would be fun to watch, eh?
Does *_that_*_ make_ not getting WRs smart?
B to B+
Najee no excuses
Less expectations too just remember dude is getting 1000 yards sharing half of his snaps. He's already the best RB in the league and it ain't close.
😆😂
C grade in this year's draft. I like Frazier but outside of that too much projecting. Brian Thomas Jr. or Quinyon Mitchell should have been drafted by the Steelers.
Troy could be serviceable but don't expect All-Pro level. The main reason why I don't like this draft is most of the prospects are much older and have medical histories with the exception of Romaine Wilson who could be a good Randle El type of WR.
Man ol man you couldnt be more wrong and time will tell I hope they save your assessment and look back at this and just laugh

I dont know how Steel town keeps doing it
Brodnick going left Furano going rt

A. I love it. The Steelers have taken the tried and true path to success with assembling a powerful offensive line in the span of just two years. These guys will remain together long enough to gel and become a force to be reckoned with. Omar Khan knows this, and used the draft to forge the future. Payton Wilson has the potential to be a star in the league, but at the back end of the third round we’re not stuck with him if he isn’t. Ryan Watts has the measurables to be a solid safety, and with his size (and vertical ability) could prove an asset. Watts played for an elite team, with a good coach and a pretty good defense. There is only upside there.
Roman Watts was a steal. If anyone watched any Michigan game last year, they’ll know that between him and Blake Corum was the offensive punch of the National Champs. I had an inkling that the Steelers would take Corum if he was there, but the Rams got him the pick before. The logical alternative--and the team need-was to get the WR that led his team to a championship.
For all those people who want star players, a team first has to dominate the line of scrimmage. Without that, even the best players can’t do much. I’m betting next year, Omar Khan will put together a new “Steel Curtain,” and draft defensive linemen. It will be the time for that, and hopefully, Payton Wilson exceeds all expectations.
Steelers should bring back juju hes a good #2 and he's a good blocker
Except juju wouldn’t be a WR2, at most a WR3 since we got Roman Wilson
juju sucks
Lol ACL who needs them ...not Steelers players. Payton gonna make everyone regrett. Just like TJ.
I have to say…not that happy about some of the picks like Wilson and Wilson, players with injuries problems. As whole grade c
