The Draft Network’s Justin Melo on why he thinks the Steelers should try to trade for Commanders DT Jonathan Allen:
“Cameron Heyward has been the league’s most consistently dominant defensive tackle over the previous decade. He’s entering his age 35 season in 2024, and the final year of his contract. The Steelers should start thinking about a succession plan. Trading for Allen and pairing him with Heyward for a season isn’t the worst idea. It could even keep Heyward most effective as more of a rotational defender before Allen flawlessly steps into his full-time role in 2025. Keeping Russell Wilson’s contract to a one-year, $1.2 million agreement has given Pittsburgh maximum flexibility. General manager Omar Khan has a top-five amount of effective cap space heading into next offseason ($73.7 million) as well.”

It depends on his history of injuries bcoz he has significant injuries that can cost his Career if not careful for first season.. can put him in pass coverage situations & still use Elandon Robert's for Running situations...On The other Note is how does come along Mentally with Steelers defensive schemes bcoz Steelers linebackers are dependent on alot of things..VIP to core Defense... ALSO STEELERS GOT THEIR MAIN DAWG IN MIDDLE PATRICK QUEEN WHOM WANTS TO PROVE HE'S IN THAT BEST MLB IN NFL DISCUSSION......... You mentioned about Fautanu being a better pass protector than Jones and that he should play LT and Jones at RT because of it.Even though that could be true but in Jones case,He's a better pass protector playing at LT than at RT so i say keep it as is.

I do not agree on the state of the Defensive Line. Starting 3 are nice but after that they don’t excite me . If I had to grade the position I give them a C because of the depth.
Our D-Line isn't as good as you think! I like Benton, but not at Nose Tackle. We need a NT that commands a double team that can hold the Line of Scrimmage to allow ILB to get downhill. We never really replaced Stephon Tuitt at DT or had a stout NT since Casey Hampton

Fautaunu did play left tackle at Washington however he played with a left handed quarterback. So essentially he really a right tackle. He never blocked the blind side

I don’t see how in the world this individual has a channel talking about football. Let me start by saying how many wide receivers do you want? Anybody that knows anything about football knows that the games are won in the trenches and that’s on both sides of the ball. I don’t care how many offensive players you have because if you can’t stop anyone it’s all for nothing. Evidently he’s not looking at the Pittsburgh Steelers roster. We already have 900 wide receivers. Defensive tackles are what we need and I would make that trade ASAP.
