I'm not a native English speaker, and for most of my life before creating this channel, I didn't care about the lyrics in the music I listened to. But song lyrics have been slowly adding to the destruction of our society for decades. The fact that a bad idea sounds musically pleasing doesn't make it a good idea. Addictions, crime, promiscuity, divorces, revenge, telling lies, cursing, swearing, hating, making idols, taking lives before birth, and many other destructive behaviors have been spread and normalized for years through most of the things we consider entertaining. Be careful of the messages you let into your life. Some people need to know that there is scientific proof that God exists. Everything that you see around you, at some point was not there, right? And nothing appears by itself. It is scientifically impossible for anything to just start existing. Think about this for a moment: if there was ever a time in the past when there was absolutely nothing, wouldn’t there still be absolutely nothing? It is wise to admit that something or someone must have always existed and therefore caused the existence of everything else. That’s the meaning of eternal. The Bible says that God is eternal and He gives us eternal life when we are reconciled with Him through faith in Jesus Christ and repentance. Now, why should you believe the Bible? Here’s only one of the reasons. According to the Bible, there were about 4000 years between Adam and Jesus Christ, and there have been around 2000 years since Jesus died and rose from the dead. Why should people believe that Adam was the first human being, that Jesus rose from the dead, and just the Bible in general? Well, when you add 4000 plus 2000, that makes up for about 6000 years of human history according to the Bible. Feel free to look this up online or anywhere you prefer: no one has ever been able to prove and no one can prove that there was life on earth 7000 years ago. It’s good to know these things, but what’s really important is where you will spend eternity. Some people have been able to explain it better than I can, so I will just cite one of the clearest presentations of the gospel I have ever read, published by Living Waters in the Million Dollar Bill: THE MILLION-DOLLAR QUESTION: Will you go to Heaven when you die? Have you lied, stolen, used God’s name in vain, or lusted (which Jesus said was adultery, Matthew 5:28)? If so, God sees you as a liar, thief, blasphemous, and adulterer at heart. If you die in your sins, you will end up in a terrible place called Hell. But there’s good news. Though we broke God’s Law, Jesus paid the fine by dying on the cross: “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Then Jesus rose from the dead and was seen by hundreds (it’s no fairytale). He fulfilled all the prophecies of the promised Savior. Please, today, repent and trust Jesus, and God will forgive you and grant you the gift of eternal life (Ephesians 2:8-9). Not gonna lie, I knew 80s music was banging, but I didn't know all these hits came back to back rapid fire, the 80s literally had no down time in terms of music, you had a hit every new month.
The amazing part is that you could repeat this list with all of the #2 hits from each month instead, or even the #3 hits and it would still be a fantastic list.

When Tainted Love came on, I remember riding in the car with my mom and that song came on the radio. She said, "These are my teenage years, right here." I'm making it my goal to learn lots about 70's through 90's music, because my parents grew up with it, I think my parents are amazing people, and I love the sound of these 🥰
Those years are a gold mine for great music. I'm a child of the 80s, so maybe I'm a little biased towards that music. But I notice this with my millennial nephews and nieces as well: they listen to modern stuff, sure... but the 70s and 80s hits is what gets added to their playlists.
I think the saddest thing about this video is how diverse the genres were. I mean damn you're getting rock, R and B, disco, soul. A lot of people like saying they don't make music like this anymore. But they really don't.
I too think that the very best thing about 80s music is not only that almost every genre was mainstream but that evey genre was good. Rock was good, pop was good, punk, reggae...Like, even clasical and experimental music like Vangelis or Ennio's stuff was great.
@@missnoneofyourbusiness there's a guy on here, Rick beato. I'm not sure if you're a musician but whether or not you should be able to enjoy his videos. he likes going into mainstream music and showing how unapologetically basic it is. The fact that I knew most of these songs and I was not even born when they came out, speaks volumes to the level of artistry these individuals possess. These songs are so timeless. When music was still considered music. 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
@Mr Old School I’m also 29, I like some of the stuff I hear on radio nowadays but the fact that back then sounds where so different between them makes it more memorable. In the meantime now everything kind off sounds the same across the music industry.
Grew up with 80s too despite being born decades later. Honestly, which songs of today will have the same amount of cultural impact in the decades to come.
As someone who grew up in 2000s and 2010s even I can say the 80s is the best era of music because of how iconic and memorable these songs are. They inspire future artists to make music.

I gotta go with the first guy...to have these come out as new every month, where the artist is young and it matches the era you're living in..it's pretty mind boggling to see all of this in video like this.
What I like is that most songs have lyrics, most artists know how to sing and are actually joyful. Except for March 1988, that month was the biggest joke :p

Yes, and this is only English songs. In Europe the 80s had also many masterpieces, I know particularly in France since I'm French. Probably more parts of the world too.
When I'm making these videos, I understand why nobody has made them before. Choosing one song for each month from a time I wasn't even born is a real challenge, and many times the result is not very accurate. Facing copyright claims is another big downer, but I like doing this to discover good songs and share them with all of you 🤓
Well done on your great efforts and I grew up in the 80s and Madonna songs were hugely successful worldwide and I am sure Material Girl, Open Your Heart, Whos That Girl and Cherish should be in the list cos these songs top the Global Chart countdown show.

the 80s ... that was a decade, really at least one new world hit every month that everyone still knows today. compare that with the last 10 years ... the last 10 years have fewer world hits than the whole of 87. Michael Jackson and Madonna alone had more world hits than the years 2010-2020
So many memories. My little girl at 4 singing along to Upside Down as we all drove down a hill in the USVI to work and school and falling in love when we lived in Chicago’s Lakeview with Madonna’s Like a Virgin at 7!
I was 16 in 1981 and my first job, always with a radio on in the back ground. It's amazing how songs can take you to a time and place, some happy, others different memories, but those songs up until my mid twenties really tell a story.
It's insane how big an impact these songs have made, even today. I'm from 1999, but my parents were teenagers in the 80's. I decided to test myself, to see how many of these songs I knew by heart - I got 92 out of 120
The decade of music that paved the way for many years changing the music industry making videos with MTV to ballads to bringing genres together changing the world ❤
It was innocent , heartfelt and creative. Music wasn't trying to sell anything other than feelings and energy. 80s music was different because creativity and judgmental attitudes hadn't been so polarizing yet.
This is by far my favorite era in music. Even its bad songs are 100x better than the crap we have these days. So many brilliant artists here. Moreover, many huge hits weren't mentioned too - Summer of 69 (Bryan Adams), Love Is a Battlefield (Pat Benatar), Self Control (Laura Branigan), Live to Tell (Madonna), Material Girl (Madonna), Maria Magdalena (Sandra), Touch Me (Samantha Fox), One Moment In Time (Whitney Houston), Another Day in Paradise (Phil Collins), We Don't Need Another Hero (Tina Turner), The Best (Tina Turner), Rhythm Nation (Janet Jackson), Tell it to My Heart (Taylor Dayne), Do You Really Want to Hurt Me (Culture Club), If I Could Turn Back Time (Cher)
Also Thriller (Michael Jackson), Jump (Van Halen), Islands in the Stream (Dolly Parton), Kiss (Prince) and many more. Too much quality for twelve songs each year!

Since 1979 through 1991 I was a Billboard Hot 100 freak. I had a notebook in which I pointed down week by week the ups and downs of the ranking. I couldn't identify of this list Apr and May 81, nor Apr 82 and Aug 88. There were then more popular songs. All the rest of songs chosen are perfect! Made me go back in time as I recall the month by month sequence as shown here. My favorite 80s years are 83 and 86. Congratulations and thank you for this video.
The 80's make me nostalgic and that I did not live my youth in that decade. That decade is defined by two names: Madonna & Michael Jackson. The best pop artists that have existed on the planet. Long live the Queen and King of Pop !
In case you're one of those people wondering why the 80's is considered by most to be the best musical decade ever (in my opinion it even represents the pinnacle of humanity as such): here's why!
The underground music in the late 80s and Late 70s, probably were the best but many of the top pop songs of the 80s were similar or identical to each other. For me the best decades in terms of music were 70s and the 90s.
I'm just finding your videos. (And loving that you made a playlist on Spotify for these decade retrospectives.) Being a lover of music from over many decades. Being an 80s child. What you do is amazing. The music nerd in me is so happy.
You just knew when Billie Jean came it would immediately become incredibly popular, the song sounded so futuristic and danceable that it had to top the charts! It had a unique bassline and rhythm which was timeless and sounds fresh even today!
I have heard 90% of these multiple times. It clearly shows the importance of the 80's music for me. My happy moment here however was to actually see Enya in the final stages of the 80's. Many hours of my life has been dedicated to listening to her. Great list! Great decade!

It's interesting that most of these songs are pop favorites that are still being played regularly on radio stations today. Current pop music is mostly forgotten about before the song is even over.
nah, it's just the good songs that actually stick with people. It seems like most of the songs now are forgotten a month after release but it was just like that in the 80s. It's just the good special songs that people will remember.
¡Qué afortunados somos los que vivimos en la época de los 80's!, la música era maravillosa y nunca morirá, la prueba es este maravilloso video que siempre nos la recordará. ❤❤❤
I wouldn't call Freddie Mercury a legend if the 80s. By 1981, they were entering their decline. If not for the Live Aid performance, which rejuvenated rheir career a little, they would have been forgotten during the 80s altogether. Their last really good album was The Game from 1980.
It's so sad how the amount of variety one single year in the decade of the 1980s had in hit songs is bigger than the variety of hit songs during these last 3 years.

Respect and love queen and Michael
I’m 15 and the same with me but Elton John as well 😉
Hi moonwalkers..
I'm 16 years old...
Me too...
Music is truly the best way to travel through time
My parents say their teenage years felt like an eternity. I just got through ten years of their pop culture in 13 minutes.
@Margareta Holmgren that's the joke

80s where incredibile, believe me.
In music and cinema...

The 80s is the golden era of music, its the time where music depth, artistry and creativeness reach the peak, it’s the only time the king, queen, prince and princess of music co-existed together in the same timeline
Im guessing the king is MJ who is the queen prince and princess?

First time so early, for me the 80s is the peak of music! The diversity in every genres were real!
No it was 2000’s
@@hermeslein6614 with all the diversity in the 2000's like you said, still can't beat the 80's
I prefer the 70's with Led Zeppelin, Rush, Pink Floyd, etc. but the 80's is my second favorite
how about 1800s 👀
Hermès lien 2000s are ghetto
Astoundingly great decade for music. Thank you.
The change in genres during the 80s was incredible. Everything from post punk to rave music. So many classic tracks that stand the test of time
As someone born in 1991, there’s just no denying that the 1980s was the decade with the best music so far
90s so far
born in 1991 as well. cheers dude we had a great childhood listening to these songs if it wasn't for our parents.
Y esta década pinta para ser igual
@@wirizu Well, it was the last complete decade back then, so it makes sense.
During the 80's it was still important to have some musical talent in order to be a musician.
Madonna and Michael Jackson ruled the 80's.
And Whitney Houston..
@@salyet9076 yes, of course
Rick Astley did :)
@@cayrips I agree. 👏 👏 👏
George Michael too
The 80's make me nostalgic and that I did not live my youth in that decade. That decade is defined by two names: Madonna & Michael Jackson. The best pop artists that have existed on the planet. Long live the Queen and King of Pop !
Even their back-ups....Prince, Whitney Houston, and George Micheal......are better than just about anyone since.
Both are King and Queen of the 80s
Michael Jackson 🤠💪💪 the King of Pop
What about George Michael?
2 names? No it wasn't, you obviously weren't there
In case you're one of those people wondering why the 80's is considered by most to be the best musical decade ever (in my opinion it even represents the pinnacle of humanity as such): here's why!
now we have Regge so according to your logic we are at the decline of humanity as such _(wich i agree)
Попахивает Апокалипсисом!
Why?
@@brentsteyn6671 Here's why
The underground music in the late 80s and Late 70s, probably were the best but many of the top pop songs of the 80s were similar or identical to each other. For me the best decades in terms of music were 70s and the 90s.
I'm just finding your videos. (And loving that you made a playlist on Spotify for these decade retrospectives.) Being a lover of music from over many decades. Being an 80s child. What you do is amazing. The music nerd in me is so happy.
Same for the 70s

You just knew when Billie Jean came it would immediately become incredibly popular, the song sounded so futuristic and danceable that it had to top the charts! It had a unique bassline and rhythm which was timeless and sounds fresh even today!

I have heard 90% of these multiple times. It clearly shows the importance of the 80's music for me.
My happy moment here however was to actually see Enya in the final stages of the 80's.
Many hours of my life has been dedicated to listening to her.
Great list! Great decade!
It is blatantly obvious that the 1980s was the best decade for music that was ever produced……..thank you..

It's interesting that most of these songs are pop favorites that are still being played regularly on radio stations today. Current pop music is mostly forgotten about before the song is even over.
I hate the 2010-2020 decade I think it’s the worst decade ever. I was born in 1998
nah, it's just the good songs that actually stick with people. It seems like most of the songs now are forgotten a month after release but it was just like that in the 80s. It's just the good special songs that people will remember.
The music I grew up with. My parents played most of these at home.

The four legends of the 80s (Freddie Mercury, MJ, Whitney Houston, Madonna) in the thumbnail. Nice!
+TOTO ofcourse, they not only made their own music they also made music for MJ and Madonna
I hopped more Queen's songs, such as I want to break free, Radio gaga, Under pressure
Nah mercurio en los 70d
QUEEN FOREVER 🥰
I wouldn't call Freddie Mercury a legend if the 80s. By 1981, they were entering their decline. If not for the Live Aid performance, which rejuvenated rheir career a little, they would have been forgotten during the 80s altogether. Their last really good album was The Game from 1980.
It's so sad how the amount of variety one single year in the decade of the 1980s had in hit songs is bigger than the variety of hit songs during these last 3 years.
So grateful to have lived the music of the 60’s 70’s and 80’s 😎👍
