For those who were confused about the use of revert instead of convert like me: Islamic teachings say that all people are born Muslim and only leave the faith due to their environment. So becoming a Muslim is “reverting” to your original state.

Thank you for the explanation. As someone who knows next to nothing about Islam, I was curious about Cammy's use of the word "revert" and not saying that she converted to Islam.

I think you have a great ASMR voice. Please don't take it personally, but I find the entitlement of Islam offensive. It's a religion that wants to dictate how non-Muslims live. People are not Muslim by birth and it's disrespectful to disregard how people identify, their background and culture. This is not a criticism towards you personally.

    • @As8bakwTheSage

@@БорянаЦенева Fyi, not all Muslims believe this! You are saying this as if Muslims are a monolith. There are different ideas about Islam and, much like Christianity, not everyone agrees on each interpretation. You may have said "don't take it personally", but what you said is an extremely racist stance to have towards Muslims. Please be more considerate next time. I hope this helps.

    • @БорянаЦенева

@As8bakwTheSage Maybe some Muslims don't believe that all humans are born Muslim, I have to take your word for it. Apparently some do. Also, Islam is not a race, so I'm in no way racist. Before preaching against intolerance, do some reflection and ask yourself why the attack last night in Germany was committed by a Muslim. Why non-Muslim girls have been targeted and abused by Pakistani men in the UK. I and people who think like me are not the problem. Hope this helps.

@@As8bakwTheSage 'Muslim' means one who submits to God alone and yes every Muslim believes that the fitrah of every baby is monotheism (Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 1385; Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2658). I don't know why you're twisting the religion to appeal to non-believers but yeah

I'm french, thought my whole life Islam was bad and also was atheist. Like you I met my boyfriend on a video game almost 2 years ago. And for a while I didn't know he was Muslim. Then when he told me about it I started to learn about Islam. Loving most of it. For 7 month I did my best to collect information the best way possible. At the start I wasn't planning on reverting. It was completely unbelievable for me. I firmly believed in science and only this. Turns out that science is something really mentioned in the Qur'an. Showing that Islam and science isn't incompatible. So Alhamdulillah I reverted in july if I remember well. I took my shahada with one of my very close friend since she's also Muslim. It's the best decision I've ever made even if my family is a bit odd about it

My muslim ex didnt treat me fairly, the way women are being seen and treated in his country of origin, Egypt, I cannot approve. Men seem to be wanting to control their wifes, are being unfaithful and lazy while thinking about themselves mainly. Thats at least what his personality is like and his friends and family.
We have a daughter together and I am trying to make a better future for him here in Europe so he can also be with our daughter. At the end of the day, he is her father and he does love her very much. But I am really scared that he will force the hijab on her and have a negative impact with his misogynist and lacking ethics on her.
I dont like to over generalize but this relationship makes it really hard for me to see the Islam as a freeing and fulfilling religion and I see women in many Arab countries being suppressed or pushed to obey and be devout even by their own females.
I still beat myself up sometimes about this horrible choice of a baby daddy that I made. I love my daughter more than anything and I will protect her at all costs.
My friend, I wish you from my heart that your experience with your Marrocan husband will be different, and I can already tell by how their family embraced you in their life that it probably is. And I am happy to hear that you found peace in Islam it seems. All the best to you.

We all wore coats, no one complained and money was never mentioned. That would never happen in a church. I had a few Muslim friends. I always appreciated they answered my questions about Islam, did not try to convert me or make it sound like I or anyone else is wrong. They always said “we believe.”

I’m an atheist (born & raised) but I’ve always been curious and interested in Islam. I enjoy learning about it and hearing Muslims tell stories of what their lives are like, so I really enjoyed this video. Getting a bit personal, one of the main reasons I respect the hijab so much is because I am mixed race (Chinese+Scottish Canadian) and grew up knowing that I was fetishized. I’ve had to deal with creepy people all my life and the way Muslims/people who veil talk about modesty really helped me feel like I deserved more than that. It’s hard to explain. It made me feel more like a person and less like what people viewed me as. I hope that makes sense, thanks for sharing your story!

There are some ASMR podcasts I've listened to that are basically that. I think there is something powerful in choosing religion in adulthood, our brains have developed fully and we can choose more authentically for ourselves, vs being raised or potentially forced into a religion (that is not to shame anyone who was raised in there religion btw).
Side note I think hijabs look very elegant, maybe you could do a video where you talked about them and possibly styled different ones on us in a roleplay fashion. Apologies if that is a concept that would be considered inappropriate to the religion!

YESSS I'm a revert too!! So cool to hear your story and since you asked I'll tell you mine even though it's a bit long.
It all started when I read a biography by a Muslim woman in the 4th grade because I had to do a reading assignment and all the other books looked boring 😭This was my first real introduction to Islam, and because of this book I gained a real fondness for Islam. I was raised Mormon but didn't believe in it, so I was agnostic just like you for a while. But I always would defend Muslims when my mom would say somethin crazy because I was just that fond of the religion and Muslims.
I believe that Allah softening my heart early on so I wouldn't learn from my family's own discrimination made room for me officially getting guided. In the 7th grade I got recommended a video by a revert RUclipsr going to Mecca, and I knew then and there I wanted to become Muslim :) I felt pure peace and joy for the first time ever. The next couple of months I started learning more about Islam and this time period was the backbone for my iman today!
Anyway, I did what I could in secret and learned as much as possible. I finally decided to officially revert in 8th grade. It's been super cool and I LOOOVE being a Muslim, best decision EVER!

I reverted 7 years ago al hamdulillah 🫶🏼 I wore the hijab 1 month after. It was the best decision I’ve ever made. Like you, I was Christian and I asked myself a lot of questions… I found the truth. And I’m so happy for you that you found happiness in Islam sister! May Allah protect you 💖
