  • The Shangri-La Paris, a luxury boutique hotel in the heart of Paris in the 16th, has two fabulous restaurants. One is Shang Palace, (the only Chinese restaurant in France to hold a Michelin star) the other is La Bauhinia. La Bauhinia is named for the bauhinia orchid, the flower symbol of Hong Kong where Shangri-La is based. The menu at La Bauhinia is what I might call Asian fusion with a mix of dishes from Thailand, China, France and beyond.
Here is a video of my wonderful lunch experience at La Bauhinia at the ‪@ShangriLaParis‬ showing each dish and course I enjoyed, including the ‪@champagnebollinger7529‬ Bollinger Rose Champagne.
We had some amazing crab and shitake nems or spring rolls with sweet chili dipping sauce, golden scallops, dim sum dumplings, pad thai and my favorite dish anywhere in the world, Crying Tiger, Black Angus steak with chili sauce and sticky rice. Then we had an amazing selection of desserts from the Shangri-La Paris' pastry chef Maxence Barbot. including mille-feuille, profiterole, pink pomelo cheesecake and a pineapple baba cake.

This one was epic as I had eaten there with Latrice before and knew exactly what I wanted. I get that Crying Tiger at LA Thai places too.
The manager of SL Paris, who was at lunch with us, used to manage the WeHo Edition across from the Rainbow. He lived in LA for a few years.

I've been to Paris 3 times and have never eaten in a "fancy" restaurant. I usually eat in neighborhood bistros. Now I have two fine dining restaurants to choose from. I feel quite full just watching your two videos of the Shangri-la Hotel restaurants. Thanks, Fred!

Sometimes those are the best places to eat! This one is nice for Thai and Asian fusion stuff and of course Shang Palace gives you that authentic Hong Kong Cantonese experience and food.

Wow I love this video also, it looks delicious. Is that food from Chef Lee as well?

No, they have new Executive Chef named Quentin Testart, Chef Lee only oversees Shang Palace. Thanks for watching!

Tell me the truth, was the black truffle amazing or just meh?
I'm that isn't the Diablo Chicken since it looks like beef in there.
That Baba dessert looked like a pumpkin.

I don't like fois gras or that presse stuff and wouldn't normally order it. I think I had a small bite to taste it but didn't like it to eat more.
I can't remember which one that was but I have the menu and pad Thai is the closest thing, especially with those wide noodles. I love that Crying Tiger and truth be told, had two orders of it.
Sadly I don't think I had any of the baba cake, I had the mille-feuille and the cream and cookie thing.
