I love the Sarah Flint "Rosie" loafer (very expensive, though), but when viewing a pair on a celebrity in the news, even they looked heavier than I imagined they would; so, yes, even the tiniest of details bring visual effects you might be surprised by! In that respect, one's full-length mirror is super important!

Summer just finished for me, and I found the Converse slip on trainers/sneakers great for lighter outfits. They are cut much lower on the foot than lace ups & go with pretty much everything summery.
Such a great alternative to the Sambas! I find the same thing!

Wow, Lydia -- this is the kind of nuanced advice one only expects to get from heaven! (It's a video to listen to repeatedly!) Re: the light-colored, two-strap flat sandal (for the short skirt), I'm only 5'2 so would look for a heel for elevation, BUT a thin, broader heel (rather than a kitten) to keep the look casual -- or a slight platform sandal with thin straps (which will take some searching!) -- or just wear a flat sandal like you show. Thank you!!!

tongue... yes agreed on your choices for footwear. Casual summer outfits are better with casual footwear rather than stiletto heels.

Appreciate your videos so much Lydia because you bring in a scientific and mathematical element to fashion which is so relevant because when it doesn't look right it's a mathematical calculation made by the eye. One thing I have take out of this video is that summer shoes need to be quite minimalist whether it be trainers or sandals. This does not always work for me because I need a lot of foot support and flat sandals end up just hurting my knees. So still looking for that perfect sandal which combines arch support and a streamlined look. I'm sure it's out there somewhere just need to keep surfing!

There is an Australian brand called Bared Footwear and they have supportive fashionable shoes, great for wide fits as well. I currently own three pairs (and counting!)
I am not tall and never wear completely flat shoes but wear minimal topped sandals with chunky soles. I have some neutral sandals with two straps across like hers but they have platforms. If I don’t have platforms or thick soles I look dumpy. Could you maybe wear the same styles with thick soles too?

I have come across your videos and I love the way you present different outfits. I have seen other fashion presents but I find most of them are frumps. You obviously have a well developed style of dressing which suits your personality and physic. It is a pleasure to watch your videos as well as a lot of fun. I am an older lady so I wouldn't wear a miniskirt however, at your age and with your physic it looks amazing!

When I have a dress on, it is hard for me to visualize which kind of shoes would go with it so I couldn't make a list of what to buy.

Great video Lydia! I especially liked the introduction because some people may see you and think I can't wear what she wears, or she would look great in a gunny sack. Ha, ha. And they miss the point that they were looking for help. And one of the things that you do a great with is sharing styling tips that can be used no matter what size you are, body shape, or age. In fact, I think of your content as advanced styling but maybe that's because I have been watching for some time. Keep up the good work.
