Hello Anna, I started practicing the vibrato and this lesson is very helpful. Thank you so much for this video.! I am been following your other lessons too, thanks you so much all the videos that you are making.
It takes a lot of practice. Most important is to not press your fingers together, but just touch them. Initially you can use your right hand to give the joint of the finger the impuls for moving, and if you dont press, it should move easily. Practice it like that, and with time you will find it easier:-)
Do you have to do the finger thing I can’t do it like my fingers are seriously to stubby not trying to make excuses or anything but I seriously can’t physically do it.
Hi Addie! Doing the finger exercises are very useful, as they help to relax your joints and gain control over the movements. For a smooth vibrato we need to be able to relax our joints. Perhaps you are pushing your finger too hard into the thumb? Try touching it only lightly, and then use your right hand to gently tap the joint down. You will see that the joint will come down and and then when you let go of your finger, it will come back up on its own. Like a bouncing ball. I hope this helps you and I wish you all the very best for your practice!
I hope I’m not asking for much but I’d really enjoy , appreciate, love a part 2 on how to apply this to the violin. Thanks in advance
