    When Jesus washed the feet of his disciples and Peter thought to deny him, Jesus told him - unless I do so, you have no part of me. This is what stood out most to me in that story. When Jesus took the position of a servant, he was still Lord - never is Peter in a position to declare what will be done. Jesus is. And so it is to be in marriage.

    The biggest lie I was ever told was that there was such a thing as “having fun”. It’s not fun. It’s fruitless and it’s degrading. It took me 29 years to figure most of this out. “Having fun” has consequences. Not just physical but psychological and spiritual. It brings you nothing but pain and suffering. My 20s were filled with “fun” and coincidentally ended horribly with me consumed by alcoholism and desperation. God, however, was always there, and when I called out to Him in earnest and humility He answered me and has never left me. It took a little longer to forgive my parents, but I am called to honor my parents, and I am called to carry my cross. The grace of God has no end. I will never turn away, especially now that I know Him. He’s blessed me so deeply with his very presence, and I just implore people who have found themselves in a similar situation to turn to Him. He will save you if you are willing to be saved. End your needless suffering, turn from sin, and repent.

    When the only housing you can afford is a one bedroom apartment, having children or even getting married just isn’t very appealing. Plus, who would want to bring children into today’s screwed up world. We actually probably have way too many people already.

      My parents married young. They had four children in Rapid succession, and We lived in a tiny two-bedroom apartment over a bakery in chicago.
      That wasn't unusual back then.
      You don't need a 4500 square foot house to raise children. 1000 square feet quite readily, just lower your expectations to be in line with reality.

    The only thing I would push back on a little bit is the part about what the Transformed Wife said about men preferring debt free virgins with no tattoos. It's not that that quote is so horrible by itself, but that it's one of many things she has said that tend to lean more on the side of make laws where there aren't any and speaking to people as if there is no redemption for them. But also... there are lots of men who love women with tattoos. 😅 You should be a virgin, and you should be debt free, but your life also isn't over if you have debt and you're not unlovable because you have past sexual sin.
    Again, not the worst quote in the world, I wouldn't blow up about it, but the transformed wife is kinda nuts and if there wasn't the context of her other posts behind that quote, it wouldn't be as bad.

      @TheRichardAnne 19 дней назад

      @@mikedavis1069 you can be a debt free virgin with no tattoos and be less godly than woman with debt, a sinful past, and tattoos (I'm assuming repentance for the sin here). I don't think it's wrong for a man to prefer what he prefers, but I would never broadcast to all women a message like that. If I was talking to a debt free virgin, I would absolutely encourage her to stay that way until marriage, but the message to the woman with debt and a past she regrets is not gonna be "well men prefer the opposite of you." That may be generally true, but it's not true of every man and what is she supposed to do with that? I thank God that there can be redemption for women like that, y'know?

    We as men today must meet a specific criteria, in order to be dateable by women. (Marriage is not even on the table at this point!) So some 90% of us men are invisibile to women anyway. If we do end up being able to date, then we must walk a dental floss thin tight rope in order to keep her interested. Otherwise she bounces to next man via a web app.
    A portion of women in this society like having a wedding. Being married and the duties of being a wife, that they do not want!
