Thanks for making such an informative video for anyone thinking of installing solar panel at home. I have a query, Are solar panels completely environment-friendly or are there any hidden ecological damages?
Yes, they are completely environment friendly. 😊
No, for present they are environment friendly. But after their shelf life is completed, It produces toxic waste of silicon and lead. Very hard to reprocess. Currently research is going on as after 20 years, we would have tons of solar pv module waste. You need to constantly clean your panels to avoid optical losses which could go upto 10 percent. Although I can still vouch for this technology if your monthly electricity bills go up wards of 15k per month. I have recently done my masters in Energy Science from IIT Bombay, if you have further queries please feel free to reach out. My prediction is going by increasing fuel prices, pv would become norm in every house in near future. So its a safe bet to invest in pv now. For PV module ,buy from genuine suppliers only. Good luck to you and just for your knowledge, India is blessed with ample solar power. We have 300+ days of annual solar dni averaged 3 kwh/day.

@@suhasinidas8678 Depends on which part of solar panel life cycle you're talking about. Solar panels do have impurities sometimes. But it is minute and less than that could be found in an average car.
If you don't mind owning a car or multiple ACs, PCs etc. Then you shouldn't mind owning solar panels either. Silicon is not a toxic element. Silicon in present in dust too. Silicon present in solar panels is more pure and crystallized.
Lead toxicity is minimal too. Lead is used in electrical soldering. If you have any electronic/electrical product it might have lead(Pb) soldering.
If you can afford a solar panel then go buy one. It is good for our environment.

Yess on grid system is best I'm using from past 2 years in winter I pay only the fixed electricity charges my solar produced more units than I uses.. in summer my bill reduces to half approx comparing to when used without solar...

With battery you could expect 2 AC to run for 12-13 hours per day only when you restrict your usage of one ac in day and two at night. see do the maths one ac takes 2 KW rating, if you use 4 you could use all the power from 9 am to 4 pm but it would leave little power to charge batteries. If you need to operate 2 AC , you need 8 KW power with minimum of 900 Ah batteries, costing 8 lakhs. But this cost is justified only when your monthly electricity costs upwards of 20k.
Still total setup cost is not practical when compared with electricity price and battery degradation. It shoud not cost more than 2L for 5kw system then it's beneficial

panels is also only 3kw because invertor is 48v and panel 24v, this is less than a 3kw system

I baught 540 watt ×8 waree bifacial panels, Lithium 100 ah 48 volt nexus battery+ nexus PCU.
3.30 LAKH, it stores 4.5 units for night use and in day it delivers 7-8 unit if I could use it.
For 12-16 unit power in 24 hrs it was best in my openion.
what if in winter solar system generates less electricity, can I still use appliances of 5KW? If not, how will I be able to know which load to put on? Please answer. Thank you

The average cost per unit for any household using 1.5 ton AC will be around Rs 10 per unit ( Higher side). Assuming the AC is used for 16 hours a day ( Higher side ) and only one ac is in the house the cost of operating the AC would be Rs. 4800 per month. The cost per year would be Rs. 58000. So roughly it takes 7 years to redeem the cost of the setup and by that time the batteries would have been changed twice taking the break even to around 9 years by that time the total expenditure on the setup would be Rs. 5.5 L ( including the cost increase of battery after 3.5 years of usage)
The electricity cost is roughly increased by 50 percent ( very high side ) every 7 years. That makes the unit of electricity to Rs. 15 after 7 years i.e, Rs. 86400 per year of operation.
For a person running the AC without this solar setup the electricity cost incurred would have been Rs. 5.5 L after 9 years.
If same amount of Rs. 5.5 L of invested in FD would have turned to 9 lacs in 9 years. The extra amount of around 3.5 lacs could be used to pay the electricity bill for 4 more years taking the breakeven for 13 years by that time the batteries might have been changed twice again for the solar setup and various perishable components might have to be replaced like wires grounding maintenance etc.,
Assuming the entire setup is trouble free for 13 years the breakeven would be achieved only after 13 years and the efficiency of the panel itself will start dropping after that long time.
Remember i have taken all conservative costs wherever possible.
Till the time the cost of the setup does not provide breakeven within 5 years this is not a viable solution except for pure off grid systems or carbon neutral fanatics.The cost of panels have to be drastically reduced for that.
Speaking about convenience At night the ac could be operated for max of 1 hour( maybe even lower. Not sure as 1.5 Ton AC consumes 5kw) only with the batteries.
Runs 12 hrs non stop no issue, you dint consider inflation of power bill and total cost of batttery is 1.25 lakh max fo4 13 years, solar panel warrenty is 25 years.

@@AjayPatil-fj5tu Minus the cost of btys for on grid system, but since last year cost of solar panels have increased by 20 percent so the calculation of 13 year break even is valid even now. In fact it had increased for sys with batteries. Also during power cuts the solar system cannot provide units to the grid and anyways one battery is minimum for invertor setup.

I recently bought exide invagold c10 battery. Can I connect with exide 1050 VA inverter? Is it good or it will trouble me in future as I run 2 fans 3 tubelight and 1 led tv on it .

All that setup cost exactly how much you need to pay for electricity bill for the tenure that solar panels last, so there is no savings , we are just getting crazy about new tech. So currently the set-up cost is very high. This also the same case with electric vehicles.
