In this video I'll show you a before and after of what a zero gap looks like. Also, a bonus technique to adjust it closer if one way doesn't work!
Zero-gap techniques help barbers cut close to the scalp. When I started doing skin fades, something was missing and I didn't fully understand what the issue was until I tweaked my tools. Now doing it for so many years, I've realized the importance of having my tools set so that I can get the most out of my tools.

You got me sold. Got the gold fx trimmers two weeks ago and now today went to purchase the black fx clippers. Kind of costly JUST for personal grooming, but something about these videos and the convenience of these being cordless has me thinking about getting more into barbering on the side.

Sofie thank you for the video! I did 3 cuts out the box without zero gapping then just did my 1st beard with them zero gapped. Big difference. Your video was super helpful!

if you had to compare this clipper to another clipper, which one would it be? wahl cordless magic clip? andis masters?wahl five star seniors corded or cordless? And does this clipper fade faster or slower than other clippers, meaning the andis master clipper cuts hair a lot slower than the wahl magic clip and that is why i cannot stand the andis masters! lmk and thx in advance!

How do you stop the guards from smacking the guards after adjusting
Machines look awesome! Appreciate the simple explanation 💯 only thing to keep in mind is to balance the stationary blade on clippers (not needed on most Trimmers) basically make sure they are not off too far to one side so that the cutting blade can be more effective. Thank you!
Of course ! No i agree the stationary blade SHOULD be balanced. I think in one angle somewhere it looks crooked but it’s adjusted in the final shot 🤣😄
Iv Mac You’re right. I never hear anyone talk about making sure the stationary blade is centered when zero gapping. I usually push the cutting blade all the way to one side, then the other, to ensure it moves to approximately the same position on each side and is as close to center as possible.

These are great, and I haven’t used my black fox trimmers yet although I just received them. Was thinking of doing an unboxing/comparison with these and the gold ones with the stock blade and the gold deep tooth 2.0. Your trimmer deserves the shine though for sure

Out of the box my Babyliss trimmers came zero-gapped to within the thickness of my thumbnail. Any closer and I'd be taking skin off.
The trimmers should have had a standard screw driver as opposed to the super tiny hex screw. My screw stripped almost immediately (because it’s so close to being a circle) and I had to order another T-Outliner blade. Just a suggestion no hate still a great trimmer

Hi sofie i have a little question about the black fx trimmer ..the question is , theres any difference between black fx to the gold fx one ? im using this trimmer only for buld my head and i wanna know if the gold one can cut better then black one ?

Black is deep tooth blade and gold is standard blade..If you dont normally tweak tools ...and want something easy out of the box, use the gold :D
Im stuck between getting the blackfx and goldfx, I have a clipper for de-bulking already and I just need one for lineups and beard edge ups, any suggestions? I really want the blackfx but in one of your vids you said that a fine tooth blade would be better for edge ups and I can't really shell out $75 for a new blade and a $250 trimmer, still a fairly new barber cutting out of my garage and that's really expensive for me here in Canada
fine tooth blade is great if you have a second trimmer. its only good for edge ups on shorter hair. If you deal with any bulk removing or lining thicker hair, it won't cut through. Gold fx is your best of both worlds. black fx is ur great bulk remover

same power, same blade as far as TRIMMERS go. Clippers are all the same except the black..cuz it comes with fade blade.

Hmm I’ve never seen a fake yet. The packaging shud say a lot lol and the piece itself. I’ve seen a fake in the gold but the tool itself didn’t look identical

I slightly zero gap my rose gold trimmers and when balding out I feel it pulling is there a way to fix that or am I doing something wrong??
Readjust, clean blade, and oil and see if that helps. Shouldn’t be pulling hair at all.
I mean just straight out of the box the clipper is pretty much zero gapped right, I think I’ll just leave it that way, also because it might shift
I find that once loosening the blade, placing the edge of the blades on a flat hard surface like a glass tabletop or mirror, lines the up straight and perfectly and keeps them in place while tightening the screws.
I’ve seen that work for people too! Whatever works!

hey sofie, question please... i just got ur influencer edition sofie gold black fx clippers & i absolutly love em... but after a few haircuts the adjustment arm is acting kinda loose & when i extend the lever out it rattles like crazy, & when i pull the lever back it wont stay put...? seems like i saw a video on u tube a while back where someone showed a way to adjust &/or tighten the adjustment lever, but im unable to find it. i love this clipper, & that black blade is awesome & in the few weeks ive had em ive cut several flat-tops with em & the blade never got hot, so im in love with these clippers, but i just dont know what to do about this loud rattling problem & the loose lever, so any help or advice would be appreciated. thank u
Damn I’m sorry to hear that! Loose lever ? Can u tighten the screw holding the lever to the clipper? If it continues to be a problem call customer service and maybe try to get it swapped out. Once that’s tighten the rattle shudmt happen
@@Staygold31 hey, thanx for the reply... i actually fixed it... as odd as it may sound, i had put the gold adjustment lever on it & it rattled, so i went back & put the black lever back on & no more rattle... wierd, but fixed is fixed... & i must say, theyre pretty dang cool, & the blade didnt get smokin hot while cuttin a flat top like my osters usually do, & i haveta admit, im in love with this beautiful thang! ...so thanx again & i truly appreciate u takin the time to respond... god bless!
The babyliss blades are coated - really awesome feature becuz of longer use they stay wayyyyy cooler

They shudnt bite but they feel sharp. But i never face my zero gapped clippers face down against the skin. Only with my trimmers
My box for my pro black clippers doesn’t have the Ferrari logo, instead there’s a sticker in the same spot that says “babyliss pro certified product”, any reason as to why there’s no Ferrari logo ?

There is a AUS distributor I’ve seen on IG. They sell the influencer clipper editions so I’m guessing they might have a way with the trimmers too. I dont know their page off the top of my head, but they have tagged me before if you wanna search that way?
Do you cut the top hair with zero gapped clippers?
It’s possible some people do use clippers to cut the top. I personally don’t. I use shears and texturizers if there’s length, but I’ve seen some friends use it on the top to point cut the ends

Can the blade be changed out?
Yes. The blades ARE interchangeable on the clippers of the fx clippers from the other colors. Same rule applies with the fx trimmers.

After I zero gapped my fx clipper, clipper started to grind my half guard. Did I do something wrong?
Basically guard attachments are created for non zero gapped clippers so when we do gap our tools it eats the guard a little bit til they grind down after so much use. So the noise is just Becuz it’s adjusting. Mine get loud for a little bit and then they calm down

What is the lowest size
no guards in the trimmer. Lowest guard with clippers is .5
So I'm a new barber with limited resources because I'm locked up. I have a chance to get the fx clippers or the wahl seniors. I need do A LOT of skin fades and need the set that zero gap the best. Unbiased opinion plz

Hmm how fast? mine don't die fast. How many people do you cut and for how long each? If its a dead battery or something, you should call customer service about it.
